After leaving his office, Lu Feng went straight to the president's office. He pushed open the door and found seven or eight people sitting sparsely inside. In an instant, everyone present focused their attention on Lu Feng.
The office director stood up and said, "Mr. Lu, what can I do for you?"
"Where are your office seals?" Lu Feng asked. "The president's seal and the legal representative's seal!"
The office director looked embarrassed and said, "President Lu, these belong to the company and are kept by designated personnel. They are not touched unless there is a problem."
"Why are you wasting your breath on me? Show me!" Lu Feng said coldly.
Zhu Lidong looked at a familiar employee beside him and instructed, "Xiao Zhao, bring out the company seal!"
"Try moving it!" the director snapped at Xiao Zhao.
"Try it?" Lu Feng instantly became angry and suddenly kicked the office director, knocking him to the ground.
Lu Feng walked straight inside, opened the safe, and began to use the company seal.
"Lu Feng! You son of a bitch, do you really think this is your company? Let me tell you, this is illegal, and you'll regret it." He stood up cursing and was about to rush over when Zhu Lidong and Du Guoying grabbed his arms.
Others can only watch helplessly. Ordinary employees can't get involved in this kind of thing, since they don't own shares and only earn salaries. Why should they stand up for the managers who usually scold them?
Lu Feng found two company seals in the drawer under the safe, took them out, walked up to the office director, stared at him, and said, "I remember you were promoted by President Wei last year, right? This intense internal rift has made it clear to business people that Lu Feng and Schroder Group are irreconcilable enemies. This rapidly rising company is destined to become a fleeting phenomenon of its time.
Jiafeng Group's business has almost come to a standstill, and the entire group has fallen into internal strife. They have even started to talk about who to side with. Goodley led the middle management to hold a vote, promising a lot of benefits to these managers, as if everything would be fine as long as Lu Feng was driven away.
The senior executives kept refuting the other party's clamor. John called Lu Feng several times, telling him to compromise and settle the equity value according to the valuation, but Lu Feng refused.
Local government officials also stepped in to mediate, calling both parties to encourage them to sit down and talk. Jiafeng represents hundreds of thousands of jobs across the country.
Lu Feng wanted to privatize the R&D company, but John disagreed. The municipal government, acting as an intermediary, proposed that Lu Feng let Schroders take the money and leave at the current valuation, with the local municipal government funding the replacement of Schroders. John rejected this plan.
Schroder Group wants the complete Jiafeng Group, and neither side is willing to compromise. The local municipal government cannot resolve the issue and can only report it to higher authorities. The situation is starting to get out of control, and the senior management of both sides had a phone conversation, which was reportedly not very pleasant.
On November 25, 1996, Lu Feng received a phone call at home from Wei Yandan, who said that Schroder Group had found a Shenzhen company to revalue Jiafeng Group.
"Looks like we'll have to fight this to the death. He wants a valuation, right? Then let's do that. Let's see how much of the original 10 billion market value is left. We'll do that too. Go find a company and have them value the group at 20 billion US dollars," Lu Feng instructed.
After agreeing, Wei Yandan hung up the phone.
John's plan was simple: to undervalue Jiafeng Group and then settle the equity stake with Lu Feng based on that valuation.
Lu Feng received a call from his superiors right after finishing dinner.
"No matter what, ensuring employment is the most important thing. Jiafeng is a major employer now. This is something you should take responsibility for as an entrepreneur, instead of focusing on your own money and ignoring the bigger picture!"
"No, no! Don't worry!" Lu Feng said hurriedly.
"Your interests should also be protected, especially given the complex international situation, particularly the things you did in Hong Kong this year, which have been criticized by many. Don't do anything out of line again."
