Around 2 PM, Lu Feng called the municipal government office and arranged a dinner for that evening.
The back-and-forth between the two companies has already stirred up a competitive atmosphere, and the food industry is buzzing with discussion. This is the first time two large companies have competed against each other. However, some smaller businesses in the industry have heard that Jiaming Foods is very wealthy.
A company's character is determined by its boss, and naturally, its factory manager will reflect that. People in various places are saying that the CEO of Jiaming Foods has an impressive background and is extremely wealthy. Some say he is the son of a big boss in Hong Kong, while others say he is the son of a powerful figure.
The six factories all had similar operating styles. They all followed Lu Feng's instructions: extravagance, extravagance, and more extravagance. They held various events, displayed banners, and announced that big celebrities were the spokespeople. When they opened, they invited some local leaders to cut the ribbon, take photos, and then put the photos at the entrance.
They included all sorts of things: company introductions, claims of being backed by a huge conglomerate, and endorsements from government leaders. They put all of these things on display in the corridors where ordinary employees entered the factory, along with some rumors circulating behind the scenes.
Not long after Liu's factory started production, all sorts of rumors spread like wildfire. If this kind of business model were to be implemented 30 years from now, it would definitely be considered a fraudulent enterprise. But people today are not very knowledgeable and have been fooled by it all.
Without money, there is no corporate culture; without corporate culture, it is impossible to unite people's hearts. This model is the simplest way to unite people's hearts, making ordinary employees full of confidence and feel that the company they work for is invincible.
In terms of public opinion surrounding the six factories, Jiaming Foods definitely had the upper hand, which was essentially free advertising, especially since it made it much easier for the brand to establish a prestigious image.
Around 4 PM, Lu Feng put some documents aside, stood up, and said, "Handle these and have them put the sales data here for me today, understand?"
Where are you going?
"Let's go eat!"
"Where are you going?" Zhang Fengxia has lost weight in the past few days. The food in the cafeteria is so-so, it's just potatoes and potatoes.
"Tianyue Hotel, where can I go?" Lu Feng tidied his briefcase.
"Take me with you, I'll just eat and not say a word. I want to go out and eat by myself. I don't get off work until after 9 pm every day, and all the restaurants are closed." Zhang Fengxia looked pitiful, realizing for the first time how hard it was to work.
"Don't talk nonsense. What if there's something inappropriate for children? You organize the documents." After making sure he had everything, Lu Feng walked out of the office.
At Tianyue Hotel, several hostesses bowed in unison and said, "Welcome!"
"Mr. Lu, it's been a long time!" The lobby manager greeted Lu Feng with a beaming smile, saying, "Mr. Lu, you look like someone who has made a fortune. I heard you've recently opened many factories all over the country. I'm so lucky to see you again. You might be surrounded by bodyguards from now on."
"You talk a lot, don't you?" Lu Feng looked at her and said, "Let's book a private room. A few bureau chiefs and directors are coming over in a bit."
"Don't worry, I'll definitely take good care of you." The lobby manager hurriedly led them upstairs, saying, "Would you like to call a few companions? Don't worry, they'll be very sweet-talking and there won't be any awkward silences."
"Will they come to eat?" Lu Feng asked.
"It depends on the person. He can be very upright in front of some people. You're such a big boss, you know those people inside and out, why are you pretending with me?" The lobby manager smiled, as if to say, "You know what I mean."
“We can get things done without spending that money.” Lu Feng pushed open the door and entered the private room. Without even looking at the menu, he said, “Just prepare a banquet, something mid-range will do. Get four or five bottles of Wuliangye.”
Half an hour later, people arrived one after another. Although Lu Feng hadn't dealt with these people much, he was still quite familiar with them. Mayor Wang Hufei, Lin Bing from the Industry and Commerce Bureau, Zhao Pengfei from the Market Supervision Bureau, and several directors, secretaries, and so on, seven or eight people gathered at a table.
Wang Hufei looked at Wuliangye and laughed, saying, "President Lu is in trouble. The newspapers these past two days have been really bizarre; I can hardly understand them. They're like children playing house."
"I told you guys not to eat, there's wine and food, wasn't I right?" Lin Bing said, and everyone burst into laughter.
“Sometimes you have to be sincere. It only counts if your boss speaks up. What’s the point of sending a lowly soldier?” Zhao Pengfei said after taking a bite of his food. “It’s like we’re your subordinates.”
"No, no!" Lu Feng picked up his wine glass and said, "To be honest, I feel very uneasy sitting here. I'm just a businessman, not good with words and not good at handling things. I'll drink one first as a self-punishment."
He drank it all in one gulp, which earned him a few cheers.
There are some things that everyone knows. The fact that you're here today means that things have been settled. Zhao Pengfei's words just now clearly showed his dissatisfaction with Lu Feng. He felt that Lu Feng had treated the marketing department people like subordinates by having them file a formal complaint.
It's nothing more than a matter of saving face. After a few rounds of drinks and several dishes, Lu Feng was a bit tipsy. These old men all had ruddy complexions, clearly having drunk more than a pound of liquor each.
"Everyone should know what's been going on lately, and you've all read the newspapers, right? To be honest, it hasn't been easy for Jiaming Foods to get to where it is now. That's how the market is; two tigers can't share one mountain. We were distributing our goods there, but the market regulators found them to be substandard during a spot check, and all our goods were confiscated."
Lu Feng briefly recounted the whole incident. The people present looked at each other, but no one spoke.
"President Lu, times have changed. Now it's a free market economy, and our organizations can't interfere."
