It was as if this was a blessing for him!
Everyone present was relaxed, as if Lu Feng couldn't possibly refuse this. After explaining many terms and obligations, a two-finger-thick contract was placed in front of him.
“You can sign now, or you can go back and have a legal team review the contents before signing. But I think you should sign now. We don’t need to trap a small company like yours. If it weren’t for the need to expand our television business and market, you really wouldn’t be on our radar.”
Lu Feng didn't even open the contract; he simply pushed it forward and said, "I won't sign!"
"Someone is offering you more money? Mr. Lu, you're a smart man. Don't believe unfounded promises. In business acquisition negotiations, verbal promises are as unreliable as vows made in the throes of passion."
"I'm not saying we won't sign with you, but Jiafeng Electronics doesn't intend to sell." Lu Feng stood up, looked at the man in the middle of the conference table, and asked, "Are you from a financial company? Which one?"
The man was stunned, not knowing why Lu Feng suddenly asked him that question. Everyone in the room looked at him.
Not for sale?
They just want a higher price, right?
“We can offer an extra 200 million, but you have to sign the contract now. That’s all your company is worth.”
“I know what my company is worth.” Lu Feng took out a business card from his pocket and handed it over, saying, “My contact information is on it. We can talk. As for selling Jiafeng Electronics, I don’t think I’ve ever said anything about it or responded to anything. I don’t know what you’re doing here.”
After Lu Feng finished speaking, he turned around and left.
“Mr. Lu, this is an opportunity for you. We have abundant technical reserves and a sales network in 150 countries around the world, which is enough to push Wepda to the world stage.”
“I believe I have the ability too. One day, Jiafeng Electronics will cover 150 countries, or even more!” Lu Feng stopped at the door, turned around and said, “You are very disrespectful.”
Those present fell silent. In their eyes, the fact that a professional acquisition team was being sent to negotiate showed the utmost importance the matter had to be placed on.
They had expected Lu Feng to receive them with utmost respect and trepidation, but that wasn't the case.
“Respect requires strength,” the man who brought Lu Feng in said abruptly.
"Okay, I'll remember what you said." Lu Feng pushed open the door and walked out.
The three teams had been keeping an eye on each other. Lu Feng was spotted as soon as he entered the conference room, and as soon as he came out, he was blocked by a man.
"Is this Mr. Lu from Jiafeng Electronics?"
"Yes you are?"
"I'd like to ask, have you reached an agreement with Philips yet?"
"This has nothing to do with you. Who are you?"
“I’m from Sony’s Hong Kong headquarters. We are very interested in Chia Feng Electronics. I believe you know Sony’s position in the electronics industry. After we acquire it, it will definitely receive more preferential treatment in the mainland market. Let’s talk in the conference room.”
"No need!" Lu Feng said, looking at him. "I'm not selling!"
"We accept controlling stakes; you only need 51%. We'll help you expand production in the short term, and we'll definitely provide technical support. We don't want your brand to fail; we just need some resources from the head office..."
In his words, all Sony needed to do was nod, and Jiafeng Electronics would take off immediately. He made Lu Feng's efforts seem worthless, while describing Sony as incredibly powerful.
"I will not accept controlling stakes, nor will I accept acquisitions!" Lu Feng interrupted him in a low voice.
Seven or eight people walked over, all dressed in suits and ties. When they heard Lu Feng's words, their expressions changed.
"Is this also from your company?"
“We are from Samsung’s Hong Kong headquarters. I am the vice president, and my surname is Park!” a man in his fifties said with a thick Korean accent.
"Lu Feng of Jiafeng Electronics!"
"You say you don't want to sell? And you don't want to be invested in?" President Park stared at Lu Feng, his gaze sharp. "Do you really think that Wepda's market in mainland China is very important, that it's very large?"
"What do you mean by that? Are you threatening me?" Lu Feng frowned.
“I know you want to sell it for a higher price, like a country girl who meets a few rich men and tries to raise the price on the spot. Let me tell you, we don’t have much patience.”
"Who told you that a country girl has to marry a rich second-generation heir?" Lu Feng scoffed, looking utterly disdainful. "You want to play around with a country girl like me? I still want to work hard and have my way up to city guys!"
