After dinner, Duoduo was busy doing her homework because she had to go to school the next day. Aunt Liu finished washing the dishes, and Zhou Ya was wiping the table.
"Aunt Liu, don't take it to heart. The more you fear him, the more energetic he becomes. Just work hard here, that's better than anything else." Jiang Xiaoyan instructed the two of them, "You're both quite tired today, so get some rest soon."
"Thank you, Mr. Jiang."
Jiang Xiaoyan stood up, stretched, glanced at Lu Feng, and said, "I'm going to take a shower."
"I'll shower later, it's only this early." Lu Feng said, half-lying on the sofa, "Ugh, I'm full, I don't want to move."
"A little exercise will help with digestion," Jiang Xiaoyan instructed Duoduo. "Go to bed early!"
Duo Duo agreed and then buried herself in her homework.
Lu Feng was quite surprised to see her so well-behaved. He walked over, squatted down beside her, and whispered, "What's wrong with you? You're being so obedient today."
"Mom said I have to behave these two days, or she'll punish me." Duoduo pouted and said aggrievedly, "I wanted to make a deal with her, but she wouldn't agree."
"We have to negotiate, we absolutely have to negotiate. Make her buy you something delicious." Lu Feng patted Duo Duo's head and said, "Duo Duo, you haven't slept with Daddy in a long time, have you? Tomorrow you can say you want to sleep with Daddy, okay?"
"not good!"
After much coaxing, the little guy finally agreed.
Before nine o'clock in the evening, Lu Feng was pushed into the bathroom. Jiang Xiaoyan stood at the door with her hands on her hips and said, "Why aren't you in a hurry at all? This is important business."
"When I saw your green eyes, my legs went weak," Lu Feng said, both amused and exasperated.
"You!" Jiang Xiaoyan slapped him and said, "Hurry up and wash, or go to bed if you don't want to."
"I'll wash!" Lu Feng hurriedly turned on the shower, saying as he washed, "The human body has a cycle. If you squeeze too much at once, it won't be able to produce enough. You can't drain the pond to catch all the fish. Besides, I'm not made of iron. I can't withstand you using me like this."
"Who was it that was desperately trying to do this before?" Jiang Xiaoyan questioned.
"I was young and naive back then," Lu Feng said, lathering up with shower gel. "Don't hold it against a young person like me. I'll give it a day, okay?"
"No, you hurry up and wash, I'll wash it for you." Jiang Xiaoyan rolled up her sleeves and prepared to come in.
“I can do it myself, don’t bother me.” Lu Feng teased her, “My hair is standing on end from fright.”
"So you dislike me that much?" Jiang Xiaoyan took it seriously.
"No, I was just kidding." Seeing her like this, Lu Feng quickly comforted her, "I'm very happy, I'll be done washing right away."
It was past nine o'clock at night, and the villa was already pitch black. Only Lu Feng and his wife were staying on the second floor tonight, and Duo Duo had been arranged to stay downstairs. It was the rainy season, and the sky was gloomy.
"Snap!"
A thunderclap ripped through the night sky, instantly shattering the once-perfect sky. The enormous sound drowned out a muffled groan. Although it was no longer spring, rain was as precious as oil.
The rain poured down, seemingly because this parched land had been baked for too long, and the light rain of the past few days was not enough to thoroughly moisten it.
Tonight was exceptionally exhilarating. Under the cover of darkness, a man was hurrying along with his coat over his head when he lost his balance and fell to the ground, cursing, "This rain is so damn slippery!"
The rain was exceptionally heavy, as if pouring down, venting some kind of emotion. Two sparrows sought shelter from the rain and landed by the window, looking for a moment of peace.
However, the noise inside the house startled the two birds, and they took flight again after only a few seconds of landing.
Aunt Liu and her daughter were awakened by the commotion. Zhou Ya looked out the window and saw that the road was flooded. She exclaimed in surprise, "Mom, there's so much water!"
“If this place is near the sea, the water will all flow into the sea. If it were located in a ravine between two mountains, it would be a great flood!” Aunt Liu was a little worried about her hometown.
That night, thunder, torrential rain, and fierce winds ravaged the land and its inhabitants. The asphalt roads were alright, but the clay roads were already a muddy mess.
The storm came quickly and went quickly. It seemed that God had vented his anger enough, and everything came to an abrupt end, leaving only the rainwater on both sides of the road gathering into babbling streams that flowed towards the low-lying areas.
Late at night, the phone rang. Lu Feng crawled over to answer it. Jiang Xiaoyan, her face slightly flushed, lay there weakly and asked, "Who is it? In the middle of the night?"
Lu Feng answered the phone and said, "Who is this?"
"It's almost June, you should keep your word by now. If you make me wait any longer, don't blame me for turning my back on you." Su Yourong's voice on the other end of the phone was particularly displeased.
"I know, I forgot to call you. I'll be there on the first of next month," Lu Feng said. "Mr. Feng called."
"What's wrong with you?" Su Yourong sensed something was amiss.
"It's alright."
"Why do you sound so weak when you speak? Are you feeling unwell?"
"Who is it?" Jiang Xiaoyan asked in a slightly coquettish voice.
Su Yourong on the other end of the phone understood instantly, and snorted, "Alright, once it's arranged, you go ahead and get busy. Don't overwork yourself. Bye."
After saying that, Lu Feng hung up the phone and said, "Hey, you in Hong Kong, go to sleep!"
"Not sleepy!"
"It's so late, go to sleep." Lu Feng got up to find his underwear, but Jiang Xiaoyan wouldn't let him wear it.
"Both of my hips hurt. Let's call it a day and see, another day!" Lu Feng said hurriedly.
The next morning, Jiang Xiaoyan took Duoduo to school, ate breakfast, and went upstairs. A little while later, Lu Feng came downstairs, sat on the sofa, and started watching TV.
