Xiong Kai didn't give Lu Feng a chance to speak at all. Most state-owned enterprise leaders are like this nowadays. What they care about is attitude. No matter who you are, you can't sit on the same level as me. You have to sit up straight and act superior when you speak.
As long as the two appear to be on equal footing, everything else is off the table.
Lu Feng didn't care. Since he couldn't make the decision himself, he would find someone who could. He stood up and went inside. Jiang Xiaoyan came out carrying a plate of food and bumped into Lu Feng. Seeing that he was gone, she asked in surprise, "Where is he?"
"They went to Chen Hansheng's house for dinner. Let's eat as a family, he can't control us." Lu Feng said as he went into the house and dialed the number on the door.
"Hello, this is an internal line for Suzhou Provincial Post and Telecommunications Group. Who are you looking for?" the operator on the phone asked.
"I want to speak with your general manager," Lu Feng said in a deep voice.
"Do you have an appointment?" the person on the other end of the phone asked.
"No, but I am Lu Feng, Chairman of Jiafeng Electronics. I hope we can cooperate in logistics." Lu Feng said seriously, "I hope you can ask the General Manager if he's off work yet?"
"I'm not entirely sure yet," the young woman on the phone said hesitantly. "Are you sure it's the chairman of that company?"
Lu Feng could tell that the young girl was worried that if he was a powerful figure, it might cause trouble, but she was also worried that Lu Feng was a fraudster and that if she reported him, she would be criticized.
“I am the chairman of Jiafeng Electronics. Our company ranks first among private enterprises in the province, with a market value of over 3 billion yuan. Tell this to your general manager. Whether he answers the phone or not is his business, okay?” Lu Feng said in a deep voice.
"Okay, then I'll go tell the general manager." After saying that, the young woman hung up the phone and called the general manager's office via the internal line.
Inside the general manager's office sat a man in his fifties, wearing frameless glasses. He looked refined and placed the folder in front of him on the table, glanced at the time, and prepared to leave work.
The red internal telephone on the table rang. He answered, "Who is it?"
The young female operator recounted the whole story, and Mr. Guo's impatience gradually disappeared. He then said, "Give me his phone number."
Mr. Guo wrote down the phone number and called Lu Feng.
After the call connected, General Manager Guo said into the phone, "Is this General Manager Lu from Jiafeng Electronics?"
"Yes, yes." Lu Feng asked, "What's your name? What's your position?"
"I am Guo Jiayang, the general manager of our provincial postal and telecommunications group. Although our companies are far apart, I have heard a lot about you in meetings, big and small." General Manager Guo said with a smile, "Especially last year, Jiafeng Electronics was used as a model enterprise, and all our state-owned enterprises had to learn from its management model."
"Mr. Guo, you flatter me." Lu Feng smiled and said, "I'm not exactly worthy of your attention. I contacted you to discuss cooperation. We're planning to set up a logistics platform..."
Lu Feng briefly explained the situation. Guo Jiayang, on the other end of the phone, felt something was off. After carefully considering Lu Feng's expenses and gains, he secretly marveled that such a scheme to get something for nothing could be done.
"Then what can you give me? Cooperation requires a win-win situation."
“Jiafeng Electronics has transferred all of its public accounts to Postal Savings Bank. We now have more than 300 million yuan in cash. In the future, we will give priority to Postal Savings Bank for fund transfers such as bridge loans and other transactions. Moreover, we will play a supplementary role in the logistics business because we have a market-driven business model, so we will have more motivation,” Lu Feng explained.
When Mr. Guo heard the proposal, he secretly considered it. It sounded pretty good. His only losses would be some factory warehouses. He could charge for using postal vehicles, and as for spraying the words "postal service" on his vehicle, that could be discussed later.
Most importantly, the state is promoting a plan for state-owned enterprises to drive private enterprises. All major state-owned enterprises have targets, and the spirit of the document has been issued. State-owned enterprises should not squeeze out private enterprises; they should support and integrate with each other to go further.
Mr. Guo had been considering which private enterprise to cooperate with and what the cooperation would entail. Now, Lu Feng had come to him of his own accord, and importantly, he wasn't asking for an exorbitant amount.
The two discussed some details, and Mr. Guo said on the phone, "How about this, I'll come to your place the day after tomorrow to discuss and finalize this beneficial project for the country and its people."
"You're coming over?" Lu Feng was taken aback for a moment before replying, "Sure, thank you for your hard work."
After hanging up the phone, Lu Feng was still a little confused as to why the other party had come in person.
Duo Duo called him to eat, and Lu Feng stood up and walked towards the courtyard.
Chen Hansheng's house was bustling with activity. He and Xiong Kai were very familiar with each other, calling each other brothers, as if they were about to embark on a golden road. Moreover, Xiong Kai, taking advantage of his drunkenness, promised him that he would handle the matter of Yongchang Logistics.
After Xiong Kai and Grandpa Hong left, Xiu'er became excited and threw herself into Chen Hansheng's arms, saying happily, "My man is so amazing, he even managed to snatch this away."
"You didn't see Lu Feng. He's so dull and clueless, he doesn't know any social graces at all, and he's putting on airs with everyone. Who does he think he is?" Chen Hansheng said, slightly drunk. "Let me tell you, this time he's even offended Master Hong."
Lu Feng did offend Grandpa Hong. He was introducing resources to you, but you offended the guest. Isn't that a slap in his face?
The next day, Lu Feng finished reading the newspaper and was about to go to the factory area when he saw Chen Hansheng peering through his car window. Xiu'er, who was next to him, muttered, "I drive this car every day, how come I've never seen anyone here before?"
"Do you think it might be Mr. Xiong's?" Chen Hansheng asked suspiciously.
"They probably don't live here. Yesterday, Mr. Xiong asked, 'When are we having dinner next?'" Xiu'er asked.
