Chapter 885 Framing

At 1 a.m., the area outside the entertainment zone was basically silent when two jeeps once again stopped in front of the hotel.

The car door opened, and six or seven people got out. Two of them were supporting the thin, dark-skinned man who had been photographed that afternoon. He was pale and lifeless, with a coat draped over his back. The group strode towards the hotel.

"Hello, we are partners of Jiafeng Group. We would like to know which room Mr. Lu is in," the tall man in the lead asked.

"I'm sorry, this is a matter of customer privacy. You can..."

Before the receptionist could finish speaking, the man pulled out a handgun, looked at her with a smirk, and said, "Where?"

"Fourteenth floor, VIP room number eight!"

"Fine, if you want to call the police, go ahead!" The tall man arrogantly turned and walked away.

The receptionist knew that if someone dared to say such a thing, they weren't afraid of being called the police, so she could only obediently pretend nothing had happened.

The six of them went up to the fourteenth floor, searched around, and stood at the door of Lu Feng's room, ringing the doorbell.

In his sleep, Lu Feng vaguely heard the doorbell ringing. Somewhat annoyed, he sat up and asked, "Who is it?"

No one answered. Lu Feng wondered if something unexpected had happened. He got out of bed and walked to the door. As soon as he opened the door, someone rushed towards him and grabbed him.

"What are you doing?" Lu Feng instantly sobered up and raised his voice ten times higher. There were two bodyguards living across the hall.

The tall man saw Lu Feng shouting, which he couldn't understand. He mumbled something incoherently, grabbed Lu Feng's hand, shoved a gun into it, and looked at Lu Feng with a mocking gaze. He then took out a few spent bullet casings from his pocket and threw them on the ground.

The crisp sound instantly silenced Lu Feng. He understood everything and gave up struggling. The two people next to him threw the photographer, who was being held up, to the ground.

The door to the opposite bodyguard's room opened, and two disheveled bodyguards rushed out.

"What's going on, Mr. Lu?"

"What do you think happened?" Lu Feng looked at the two of them and laughed.

The tall man had already taken out his phone and started calling the police. Kevin heard the noise and ran out to check. In no time, the hallway was full of people.

The tall guys weren't flustered by the large crowd; they just mumbled a bunch of things in their tongues.

"He said that General Lu shot and killed his friend!" the local bodyguard translated.

The entire hallway fell silent, everyone's faces filled with disbelief. Lu Feng glanced at Kevin and said, "What are you standing there for? Call the police!"

Kevin was stunned for a moment and didn't react. The next second, he came to his senses and hurriedly called Zhalun.

A dozen minutes later, three police cars arrived with sirens blaring. A dozen fully armed officers got out, rushed into the hotel, went upstairs, and handcuffed Lu Feng without saying a word.

"We are now charging you with first-degree murder. Come with us!" The lead policeman said to Lu Feng, and two men came up and dragged him away.

The bodyguards stood there, completely helpless.

Lu Feng was taken away and downstairs.

When Zhalun heard that Lu Feng had been arrested, he immediately became anxious. Even if a murder had occurred, it was still within his jurisdiction. How could other places be allowed to cross regional boundaries to arrest someone?

Four police cars stopped at the entrance. Just as Zhalun and his men got out of the car, they saw Lu Feng, dressed in pajamas and handcuffed, walk out of the elevator.

"Wait a moment!"

Zhalun and his men blocked the group's path and asked, "Who gave you permission to arrest people?"

Seeing that Zhalun was of a higher rank than him, the leader softened his tone and said, "We received a report of a shooting and have come to handle it."

"This is my jurisdiction, and you're handling it? Since it's a shooting, where's the forensic doctor? Where's the ambulance? Where's the on-site investigation?" Zhalun stared at them and asked, "You just come in and arrest people? What are you doing?"

Unable to answer the question, the other party remained silent for a while before saying, "I hope you can move aside. I'm just following the rules. We've already taken over this case."

The tall man, seeing Zhalun blocking his way, stood aside with a furrowed brow and couldn't help but say, "You'd better get out of the way, or you'll regret it."

"Is that so? How can I possibly slip away unnoticed!" Zhalun drew his sidearm from his waist and shouted, "Try moving again!"

As soon as he drew his gun, his men became alert. Several tall men instantly reached into their coats, and the opulent hotel lobby was now tense with tension.

"Chief Zhalun, please step aside!" the lead policeman said.

"If I step aside today, I will be closing the door to justice." Zhalun stared at the six tall men, already sensing that something was wrong.
