"Don't pay any attention to her. She's spoiled rotten. She's nothing but a brat!" Jiang Xiaoyan cursed from the kitchen. "Have you only had a few good days? Let's send her to the countryside next year and see how it goes."
"Don't cry, your mom is angry."
"I want to watch cartoons, like Afanti. Dad, can you fix the TV?"
Lu Feng was exasperated by her antics, so he stood up and started patting and hitting the TV, but it was no use. It was snowing outside, which was affecting the antenna signal. While fiddling with the two antennas, the TV suddenly showed a picture.
"It's there! It's there!" Duoduo shouted excitedly, even more so than when she shouted at the entrance of the delivery room.
As soon as Lu Feng let go, the screen disappeared again.
"Dad, don't let go!"
Lu Feng had no choice but to stand there and grab it with his hands, while the little guy watched and giggled.
Jiang Xiaoyan came out of the kitchen and saw Lu Feng standing there acting as a human antenna. She put the food she was holding on the coffee table and said, "Just stand there, you can spoil me. I'm going to eat."
After dinner, I went to bed early. Tomorrow I need to go to the farmers' market to buy things, which will take a whole day. The day after tomorrow I'll head back. I can only hope that the snow isn't too heavy and won't block the road back to the village.
Lying in bed, Jiang Xiaoyan carefully listed what she needed to buy, making sure not to forget a gift for anyone, something that wasn't too expensive or too cheap, until she fell asleep.
The next morning, everything was covered in white, and the whole world had become a fairy tale. The children downstairs were wrapped up like chubby babies in a New Year's painting.
Have a snowball fight, roll snowballs, and set off firecrackers!
Amidst the patriarch's scolding and the aroma of the New Year wafting from who-knows-where, a complex and indescribable feeling lingered in Lu Feng's mind as he stood by the window for a long time.
At eight o'clock in the morning, just as dawn was breaking, Lu Feng sat in his car, listening to Jiang Xiaoyan's incessant chatter. He suddenly realized why this woman talked so much.
Once at the farmers' market, it was time for her to show off her skills. She bargained and complained to Lu Feng, stuffing the trunk full of things and filling her chest with anger.
For the first time, Lu Feng realized that being a man was truly difficult, especially in a farmers' market. He was like a rooster waiting to be slaughtered, unsure of who would win the bargaining between the two women. Lu Feng didn't know what he had said wrong that caused him to lose a few dollars.
Both sides at the stall looked bitter and resentful; the seller seemed to be selling at a loss, while the buyer seemed to be overspending. But once they got in the car, a victor's smile would appear on her face.
Lu Feng thought the stall owner probably had the same expression.
Indeed, the joy of fighting with others is endless!
