On the return journey, Feng Xuan was still the one steering the boat.
The sunset has now disappeared, and we have entered the transition from day to night.
Everyone else was on deck helping out, sorting abalone, whelks, and the trawl catch.
While busy with his work, Feng Ye briefly recounted their encounter with the reef and their experience of catching abalone.
Everyone stared wide-eyed, and understood why they had come to pick up the person so late.
If they weren't picking someone up, they would have worked until dark.
"The reef is full of conch, abalone, and even baby lobsters! It's simply unbelievable!"
Xiao Guowen looked astonished.
"You guys are so lucky! You've stumbled upon such a great feng shui location. You're practically picking up money from the ground."
Xiao Guowu looked on with envy.
Ye Qingling, Du Guilan, and A-Can's mother were all smiles, genuinely happy.
"We just went with a try-it-out attitude and steered the boat over there. We didn't expect there to be so many good things."
Feng Ye smiled and said, "However, on the other hand, the reason we were able to find such a treasure is also because of A-Can. When he was trawling, he accidentally sailed right towards the reef."
When luck comes, there's nothing you can do.
Ah-Can chuckled smugly a few times.
His mother slapped him on the head: "What are you so smug about? If it weren't for Ah Ye, would you have thought there would be good stuff on the reef?"
It's perfectly natural for a mother to discipline her son, so Ah-Can could only chuckle and accept it without retaliating.
More people means faster work.
In just ten or twenty minutes, all the items were sorted and packed into individual baskets.
Feng Ye stretched, feeling unusually happy despite his physical exhaustion.
Who wouldn't be happy to make money?
He stood at the bow of the boat, gazing into the distance.
As night fell, a cool breeze blew across the sea, and the moon came out.
Although it's the fifteenth of the lunar month today, the weather is fine, and the full moon hangs in the sky.
The moonlight shone brightly on the shimmering sea, reflecting everyone's figures.
However, the sea a little further out was still pitch black, with no lights from any ships, a scene of utter desolation.
The Rising Sun ship cut through the waves at top speed.
After more than an hour's voyage, around nine o'clock, the Xuri finally returned to the Dongtou Village Wharf.
It was high tide, and although the tide wasn't too high yet, it was enough for the Rising Sun to barely reach the shore.
The dock was deserted, except for small wooden boats. The large fishing boats must have returned during low tide, as they were all moored in deep water.
Of the several collection points, only Feng Jiafa's collection point still had its lights on; the others had already closed and gone home.
Everyone quickly unloaded the goods from the ship, carried them ashore, and loaded them onto carts.
After Xiao Guowen and his wife, along with Xiao Guowu, unloaded their own goods, they helped Feng Ye and his group, said goodbye, and then pushed their goods back home.
Their goods haven't been sorted yet; valuable and worthless items are all mixed together. They need to go back and sort them before they can be brought here to sell.
It was so late, and I was tired and hungry, so of course I had to hurry back to eat and rest.
Ye Qingling, Du Guilan, and A-Can's mother also told them to go home first, so that their families wouldn't keep worrying.
Then, Feng Ye and the other two pushed the cart to Feng Jiafa's purchasing point.
He carried a basket of fish into the shop and found that although the lights were on, there was no one in sight.
"Uncle Fa".
Feng Ye then shouted loudly.
"You're here," Feng Jiafa responded, emerging from the inner room. "With so many of you going today, why are you back so late?"
"We were delayed at sea," Feng Ye said with a smile. "Uncle Fa, why are you still in the shop so late?"
"I'm only waiting for you because you haven't come back yet. Otherwise, who would you sell your goods to?" Feng Jiafa said irritably.
"Thank you so much, Uncle Fa."
"Enough with the nonsense, let's get down to business. How was your day?" Feng Jiafa asked.
"You'll see for yourself."
Feng Ye and the others exchanged a smile and said nothing more.
Upon seeing this, Feng Jiafa couldn't help but laugh and scold, "You bunch of guys, are you still keeping me in suspense?"
He stepped forward and looked at the baskets that had been carried in. He found that they were all ordinary goods, and there were several baskets of incredibly cheap toadfish. He frowned and asked, "The big fish are in the back?"
"No big fish today."
"Huh?" Feng Jiafa was puzzled. "If there were no big fish, why did you come back so late? Did you encounter a school of fish?"
“Fish aren’t like cabbages, how easy is it to find them?” Feng Ye shook his head. “They’re something else, to be precise, not fish.”
After Feng Ye finished speaking, he turned and walked towards the cart at the entrance of the shop.
"Not a fish?"
Feng Jiafa repeated it, and unable to resist his curiosity, he followed them out.
Just then, Ah-Can unloaded a basket from the cart. He quickly walked over, craned his neck to look inside, and was immediately surprised and delighted.
"Holy crap, so many little green dragons!"
"I knew you guys would be back late because you must have good stuff. Sure enough, it was worth waiting so late."
Feng Jiafa then asked curiously, "These things are either in coral reefs on the seabed or in crevices and caves in rocky reefs. How did you catch them? Don't tell me you dragged them there."
“Of course it wasn’t a trawl net, how could a trawl net catch this much?” Ah-Can said proudly. “I used a hand net to scoop them up.”
"Hand...hand-held net?"
Feng Jiafa stared at A-Can in disbelief, his expression seeming to say, "You're lying to me."
“That’s right, it’s a hand-copied net.” Ah-Can chuckled.
Feng Jiafa's eyes widened: "You guys are amazing! You actually managed to catch a baby blue dragon with a hand net, unbelievable..."
"Stop arguing and hurry up and get the goods in to be weighed. We need to get back for dinner."
Feng Ye placed a basket in his hand, interrupting his incessant chatter.
Feng Jiafa took the basket and saw that it contained more baby lobsters. He was immediately surprised: "How many baby lobsters have you caught? Are there any more?"
"That's all. Your basket isn't even full yet."
"Oh, that's all!"
Upon hearing this, Feng Jiafa was somewhat disappointed and carried a large basket of small lobsters into the shop.
However, he quickly became excited again. Looking at the two baskets of little green dragons, his eyes lit up, and he even grabbed a few out to tease them.
Feng Ye and Feng Xuan carried in another basket of goods and placed it on the ground.
Feng Jiafa glanced at it dismissively, assuming it was just some kind of fish.
Unexpectedly, once they looked at it, their eyes were fixed on it and they couldn't look away.
