Chapter 437 The Worst Plan

"These guys are really too arrogant."

Feng Ye nodded in agreement, "But now, isn't the opportunity to sanction them here?"

"Yes, yes, where is the person you caught? I need to take him back to the station for questioning right away."

Fang Yi was getting impatient.

“You’re inside the cabin. Follow me.”

Feng Ye took the lead and continued, "There's no need to rush the interrogation for now."

"After you bring the people back, the most important thing is to quickly gather your men and arrest the people still on the island."

“Those guys may have already discovered the ship is missing. You need to act quickly before they get away.”

"Didn't you say you were on an island? It's surrounded by seawater, where could you possibly run off to?"

"That's not necessarily true. What if a boat happens to pass by? They could pretend to be stranded fishermen asking for help, and then they could escape in a perfectly logical way."

"That's true."

Fang Yi and Wang Teng exchanged a glance, both seeing the urgency in each other's eyes.

"Okay, once we bring the person back to the station, I'll immediately organize a team to go out to sea and bring them back."

After Fang Yi finished speaking, Wang Teng echoed, "Yes, we can't let them have a chance to escape."

This is a chance to make a contribution! How can we let him get away?

Police stations at the local level generally don't have many decent cases, so when they finally encounter one, especially one where they can catch someone red-handed, they naturally have to go all out.

Wang Teng, in particular, was filled with excitement, and his heart raced.

He's just a member of the joint defense team. If he can make a great contribution in this battle, he might be able to change his skin and wear a police uniform.

These days, getting a formal government job can be difficult or easy, depending on how you look at it.

But at least it won't be like later generations, where a single degree can block the vast majority of people.

"By the way, Ah Ye, I'll need your help to show me the way later."

"No problem, it's my duty."

Feng Ye nodded and continued, "Besides, Ah Can and I have already interrogated them once. Guess how many crimes these people have committed?"

"If that's what you're saying, then there must be quite a few robberies."

Fang Yi then tentatively stated a number, "Five times?"

Wang Teng thought for a moment and said, "I think it's more than that, at least seven or eight times."

"According to his confession, that person was involved in seven robberies, one of which was..."

Feng Ye recounted the results of the interrogation in a somber tone.

"My God, is it that serious?"

Fang Yi stared in shock.

Wang Teng also looked incredulous.

"Yes, this is only his confession. The crimes committed by the others on Longtail Island are likely much greater. You must interrogate them thoroughly and dig deep into their territory."

"We will definitely bring them to justice and make them pay the price they deserve."

Feng Ye agreed with this statement, but still had some concerns about the outcome.

Fang Yi was just a lowly policeman; there were too many people who could keep him in check.

Although the person behind Nagao Island may be out of reach, the intricate network of relationships within officialdom means that someone might step in to suppress the matter.

Therefore, Feng Ye had already prepared for the worst.

He wasn't without backing; he knew at least the county's second-in-command and Qin Aijun, who had risen through the ranks of organized crime, and they had a fairly good relationship.

For his own safety, and just in case, he would tell Hao Aiguo and Qin Aijun about it.

Feng Ye led Fang Yi and Wang Teng across the deck and into the cabin.

He pointed to a figure lying in the corner, wrapped up tightly, and said, "That's him. He's yours now."

Fang Yi nodded, stepped forward, and kicked him without any hesitation, shouting, "Still pretending to be asleep? Get up right now!"

Zheng Haoren wasn't pretending to be asleep; he was genuinely asleep.

After being kicked awake, he groggily opened his eyes and, upon seeing the two people in front of him, immediately understood and a look of horror appeared on his face.

Before he could even struggle to sit up, Wang Teng kicked him a few times without any hesitation, and with considerable force.

"Ah!... Stop hitting me, I'll tell you everything."

Zheng Haoren screamed incessantly, curling up in agony.

He was really unlucky; he encountered two fierce-looking men who started punching and kicking him without saying a word.

"Hmph, you better behave yourself and don't try anything funny."

Fang Yi coldly warned, while taking out handcuffs.

"Holy crap, you guys are fishing while wearing handcuffs?"

Feng Ye looked at the handcuffs in Fang Yi's hands with great surprise and joked, "You guys aren't planning to handcuff the fish you caught too, are you?"

"screw you."

Fang Yi laughed and scolded, "This thing is standard issue for us police officers. We carry it with us all the time. Look, it's come in handy now."

As they were talking, Wang Teng roughly ripped off the blanket, revealing Zheng Haoren, who was naked, tied up, and wearing only a pair of underwear.

"Holy crap, Ah Ye, you guys have this kind of hobby?"

Wang Teng teased playfully, his eyes darting back and forth between Feng Ye and Feng Ye.

"Your thoughts are filthy."

Feng Ye first said disdainfully, and then explained, "This guy wanted to run away, so he jumped into the sea and got his clothes wet."

"Oh, really?"

Even though he knew the two were doing it on purpose, he was still quite angry.

Just as he was about to say something in his defense, a brilliant idea suddenly struck him.

You guys disgust me, huh? I'll disgust you guys in return.

He said with a half-smile, "Or, you two can give him a check-up."

Upon hearing this, Fang Yi and A-Can immediately shook their heads, indicating that they were willing to admit defeat.

"Alright, enough fooling around, we need to take them back."

As he spoke, Fang Yi gestured for Wang Teng to untie the rope so that he could put on the handcuffs.

Wang Teng responded immediately and quickly untied the ropes binding Zheng Haoren.

Even though the ropes binding him had been untied, Zheng Haoren dared not make any sudden movements.

He couldn't even beat Feng Ye and A Can together, let alone now he was facing three people, one of whom was the tall and strong Wang Teng.

In order to avoid further physical pain, he had no choice but to obediently cooperate and put on the handcuffs.

"Let's go. Be smart and don't even think about running away."

They pulled out a quilt and wrapped Zheng Haoren in it, while Fang Yi and Wang Teng escorted him out, one on each side.

Zheng Haoren walked silently with his head down, his hands, cuffed in front of him, gripping the edges of the blanket, appearing very obedient.

Faced with the state's violent apparatus, he had no choice but to comply.

We've come this far, we have to accept our fate.

Feng Ye did not go to the police station with them, but stayed on the boat to wait.

He stood on the bow deck, gazing intently at their receding figures, lost in thought.

Just then, Ah-Can managed to bring the Rising Sun ship over and park it on the side.
