Not long after, Feng Jiaqing rowed over in his small wooden boat.
On the small wooden boat is Ah-Can's father, Feng Jialing.
They were somewhat worried because it was the first time the Rising Sun had set sail and it was returning so late.
They were relieved when Chen Fusheng told them they were back. They didn't even exchange a few words with Chen Fusheng before rushing over in their small boat to help unload the cargo.
"Why are there so many?"
Feng Jiaqing and Feng Jialing were stunned to see more than twenty baskets and buckets full of fish piled on the deck.
Other boats would consider themselves rich if they caught a few hundred kilograms of fish in a day at sea.
And what's placed here probably weighs no less than a thousand catties. Wouldn't that be making a fortune?
"This is only a small part; the bulk is still in the cabin."
Seeing the two people's shocked expressions, Ah-Can burst into laughter.
Feng Ye and Feng Xuan couldn't help but smile.
The baskets they brought were simply not enough; the deck was now filled with all sorts of miscellaneous catches, most of which were still in the hold, including ribbonfish.
"besides?"
The two of them looked on in disbelief.
They eagerly climbed onto the ship, ran into the cabin, and were dumbfounded.
Looking at the hold full of silvery-white ribbonfish, I blinked a few times in disbelief.
Did we stir up trouble for the ribbonfish?
"So many ribbonfish, did you encounter a school of ribbonfish?"
Feng Jialing was so shocked that he couldn't close his mouth.
"Of course! Otherwise, how could we catch so many fish?" Ah-Can said with a smug look on his face.
And it wasn't just ribbonfish; there were also many other fish piled up in the corner, especially those few meter-long mackerel, which were particularly eye-catching.
"That's great! We caught so many fish on our first voyage. We made the right choice buying this boat."
Feng Jialing said excitedly, his face beaming with joy.
Although Feng Jiaqing didn't say anything, the expression on his face said it all.
"Who was it that wanted to buy it themselves back then, instead of partnering with Ye-ge and Xuan-ge? Now you know whose judgment was better, right?"
Ah-Can looked at his father with amusement.
"Why are you bringing this up, you little brat?"
Feng Jialing felt a little embarrassed and blushed, glaring at A-Can.
"Alright, it's getting late, let's get to work."
As Feng Jiaqing spoke, he walked out of the cabin, went to the aft deck, and first went down into the small wooden boat.
"Hmph, I'll deal with you when we get back."
Feng Jialing glared at A-Can again.
Baskets of fish were transferred from the aft deck to the small wooden boat, filling it to the brim with more than twenty baskets.
Feng Xuan brought over three more snakeskin bags: "Dad, Uncle Ling, these contain blue-ringed sea snakes. Be careful, don't let them escape."
"Blue-ringed sea serpent? How did you catch it? You didn't drag it up, did you?" Feng Jiaqing's expression changed as he questioned.
Feng Jialing's expression was not good either.
The biggest danger of trawlers is catching poisonous creatures, and people can easily get injured while sorting the catch.
Feng Ye shook his head and said, "Of course not, it was caught by a longline fishing hook."
"That's good." Feng Jiaqing said seriously, "Remember, if you find sea snakes in the net bag while trawl, it's better to discard the catch than to risk bringing it onto the ship."
"knew."
All three nodded.
After exchanging a few more words, Feng Jiaqing and Feng Jialing rowed their small wooden boat toward the dock.
...
The next time I came, there were dozens of empty baskets piled high on the small wooden boat.
The calligraphy character "发" (fa) written on the outside of the basket indicates that it was borrowed from Feng Jiafa's shop.
"Dad, Uncle Ling, you're all here. Who's watching the goods?" Feng Ye asked, puzzled.
With people coming and going at the dock, some might be envious or have unscrupulous hands and steal things.
"Your mother is here, so it's good to have her keep an eye on things?"
As Feng Jiaqing spoke, he and Feng Jialing threw the empty baskets onto the boat one by one.
After the three men received the empty baskets, they carried them into the hold to fill with fish, and then immediately loaded them onto a small wooden boat to be transported to the dock.
It took four transfers to finally get the entire catch from the boat to the dock.
When Feng Ye and his group arrived at the dock, they saw a crowd gathered around their catch, chattering amongst themselves.
"So much cargo! We've encountered a swarm of fish that's overwhelmed the nets!"
"Just these ribbonfish alone, there are nearly forty baskets here, and there are still so many on the boat. This is a huge windfall!"
"I heard there's also a blue grouper and a cucumber fish weighing about seven pounds!"
"They caught another yellow croaker! How come they're so lucky?"
The arrival of the last fish—blue grouper, large yellow croaker, and meter-long Spanish mackerel—caused another considerable stir.
"Please make way, let us take the goods over to be weighed first."
Xiao Chunxiu's face was beaming with smiles, her mouth practically hanging open.
She never expected that the new ship would yield such a great harvest on its first voyage.
It took some more time to transport the goods by handcart to Feng Jiafa's purchasing point.
Feng Jiafa was overjoyed to see so much cargo, especially the blue grouper and the three large yellow croakers.
He chuckled and said, "The blue grouper is a good thing. Weigh this one first so I can keep it. We'll proceed with the usual order for both the blue grouper and the large yellow croaker."
"good."
Feng Ye raised an eyebrow and thought to himself, "You know what's good for you."
He didn't want to sell such valuable goods directly; it would be better to let the Feng family continue to act as the intermediary.
However, making a trip to the county would take too much time and would delay the fishing trip at sea, so it's not worth it.
Feng Jiafa scooped the blue melon seed spots out of the bucket and put them on the scale.
