Chapter 104 Arguing with Grandma Qin

At nine o'clock in the evening, Song Yingying finished taking a shower and prepared to go to bed.

Before going to sleep, she wanted to say goodnight to Grandma Qin.

Before Song Yingying went upstairs, Grandma Qin was still singing opera in the living room.

She was still at the top of the stairs when she heard what Grandma Qin and the nanny were saying.

“Yingying is still young and doesn’t know right from wrong. It was because of her mother that Wenyuan died. I can’t get over this when I think about it.”

"Madam, Wen Yuan and Song Qiurou are both gone. Look forward, Yingying is a very good child."

“Look how dependent Yingying is on the Song family now. If it weren’t for Song Qiurou clinging to him, Wen Yuan would still be alive and well. He would have been transferred back to the city long ago and wouldn’t have died such a tragic death…”

Qin Wenyuan's death was an insurmountable wound in Grandma Qin's heart.

Song Yingying felt a chill run through her body upon hearing what followed.

Grandpa Qin was about to go downstairs for a drink of water when he saw Song Yingying standing at the bottom of the stairs.

"Yingying? What's wrong?"

The noise on the first floor stopped instantly.

Grandma Qin walked around the large vase and saw Song Yingying standing at the corner of the stairs.

Song Yingying's eyes immediately reddened. "You can't talk about my mother like that!"

Grandma Qin's face turned pale. "Yingying, that's not what I meant..."

Grandpa Qin understood immediately. He sighed, "Yingying, your grandma didn't mean anything by it."

Song Yingying held back her tears. When she was little, she was also puzzled as to why her older brothers and sisters could call their parents "Dad" and "Mom," while she could only call them "Uncle" and "Aunt."

Back then, Fifth Brother had a sharp tongue and always said that Song Yingying wasn't the family's biological child.

Song Yingying then went to ask Xu Guiying.

Xu Guiying said that Song Qiurou was her biological mother, but Song Qiurou had already passed away. When Song Yingying was still in her womb, Song Qiurou was looking forward to the birth of her child.

Song Yingying was not forced into birth; she came into this world carrying Song Qiurou's most tender and sincere love.

Song Yingying couldn't hold back her tears and blurted out, "It's because you guys won't let my parents be together, otherwise I wouldn't be a child without parents now. You can't blame my mom!"

After saying that, Song Yingying ran back to her room.

She's going back to Heping Lane tonight; this isn't her home!

Song Yingying locked the door, changed her clothes, and prepared to leave with her bag.

As soon as the door opened, Mr. and Mrs. Qin were standing outside.

Grandma Qin also got anxious, "Yingying, Grandma just said it without thinking. Grandma doesn't blame your mother anymore."

Grandpa Qin glanced at his wife and told her to stop talking.

Grandpa Qin sighed, "Yingying, things were too complicated before. It wasn't your mother's fault. Your grandmother was wrong. Please forgive us this once, okay?"

Song Yingying cried and refused, "No, I want to go home now."

Grandma Qin's eyes were red, and tears streamed down her aged face. "Yingying, Grandma won't say it again, never again."

Grandpa Qin looked at Song Yingying with a worried expression.

Song Yingying remained steadfast in her convictions, crying with aggrieved frustration. Unable to reach a stalemate, Old Master Qin had no choice but to arrange for a car to take Song Yingying back to Heping Lane.

Grandma Qin watched the car drive away, wiping away tears continuously.

What if the child doesn't come anymore?

Old Master Qin sighed deeply, "What happened back then was not Song Qiurou's responsibility."

Grandma Qin took a deep breath. There were some things she couldn't say in front of Song Yingying, but Grandma Qin's thoughts hadn't changed over the years.

"Song Qiurou clearly knew that Wen Yuan's family didn't approve, yet she still wouldn't break up with him. Who else is to blame but her?!"

Grandpa Qin frowned: "Qinfen, back then we were far away on the farm, and we didn't know about Song Qiurou and Wen Yuan's relationship. Wen Yuan is a man of his word, and once he's made up his mind, he can't change it! It's not like Song Qiurou can just break up with him whenever she wants!"

"The matter is in the past. Even if Song Qiurou was wrong, the fault lies more with us!"

They refused to allow the two of them to be together, forcing Qin Wenyuan to return to the capital.

Grandma Qin glared at Grandpa Qin, her face pale and ashen, then she closed her eyes and collapsed to the ground.

"Qinfen! Someone come quick, get her to the hospital!"
