Chapter 233 Phoenix Pavilion

After discussing this matter for several days, Xu Guiying and her husband decided to invest 2,000 yuan and manage the shares, thus holding a total of 15% of the shares.

It would be best if the store made money; then it should belong to the older sister and the others.

Even if they lost money, two thousand yuan wouldn't be enough to crush Xu Guiying and the others.

Xu Songyuan felt that there was a good chance of making money. He didn't dare to be blindly optimistic. After deciding to start, he bought two shops next door in one go.

Both shops were renovated, but the original shop continued to sell fried rice. Whenever regular customers came, Song Xinfu would tell them that the shop had expanded and that they could sit anywhere they wanted.

There aren't enough seats right now, so some people buy fried rice to eat at home, while others squat under the trees by the roadside to eat. The restaurant is packed with people.

Chen Zhou would come to the store to help out every day after class, and he would always be busy and sweating profusely. The third and fifth brothers would also come occasionally when they had free time.

When Song Yangmin has nothing to do, he often comes to help his uncle peel potatoes.

These guys were all young men, tall and good-looking, which attracted many young girls to come and eat.

The days passed by, and December arrived.

It's getting cold again in the capital city.

Song Guomin had gotten used to life in town. Yan Yan was studying at the town's primary school, and Lele was in kindergarten. Song Guomin hired a neighbor to cook for him at home every day for eight yuan a month. She only cooked lunch and dinner, and the cost of vegetables was extra.

The town was very busy, and Song Guomin had lost a lot of weight since he first arrived in September. Even his supervisor couldn't bear to see it and advised Song Guomin to take better care of his health.

Song Guomin has been experiencing headaches and occasional pain in his back and ribs lately, but he thinks it's mostly just from being busy and tired, so he hasn't paid much attention to it.

When I got home from get off work, Yan Yan was doing her homework at the table, and Le Le was playing with her toys. The apartment was allocated by her work unit; it had three bedrooms and a living room, and Yan Yan and Le Le each slept in their own room.

The aunt had already prepared the meal and left when Song Guomin returned.

Lele hadn't gotten used to life without Liu Aimei yet, and looked up to ask Song Guomin.

"Dad, how long until Mom comes back?"

Lele didn't understand the meaning of divorce; she only knew that Liu Aimei was no longer at home.

Song Guomin explained to him that Liu Aimei had gone to work in another city and would not be coming back for the next few years.

Yan Yan knew what divorce meant. She had heard from her classmates that it meant her parents would never live together again. After so long, Yan Yan had gotten used to it.

Song Guomin: "She's very busy, I don't know either."

Lele lowered her head in disappointment.

Song Guomin coughed twice. "Alright, let's eat."

Phoenix Pavilion opened on December 20th.

After discussion, Xu Songyuan and Xu Guiying decided to choose a high-end, classy name, aiming for the goal of making a lot of money.

Xu Songyuan is skilled in spicy and flavorful dishes, so Phoenix Pavilion mainly serves Sichuan and Hunan cuisine. Fried rice is still sold, and a separate small window has been set up for it. Xu Songyuan has also hired two more chefs and several helpers to serve dishes and wash dishes.

Phoenix Pavilion has also added four private rooms, decorated in a simple and unpretentious style, with prices ranging from mid-to-high range depending on the dishes served.

Located near the night market, the place has a large flow of people. On the first day of opening, a Saturday, the Song family all came, and Song Anmin and Song Jianmin also came to help. Starting from around 10 a.m., some regular customers began to arrive. By noon, the place was full, and they were busy until evening. Xu Guiying kept her eyes on the surroundings, going wherever she was needed.

I was busy until after 9 p.m. before I finally sat down in a chair and started eating dinner.

Song Xinfu chuckled, "Busy, being busy is good."

Xu Guiying: "We need to hire two more waiters to serve the dishes, and we also need to hire one more assistant in the kitchen."

Xu Songyuan nodded, "Okay, I'll post it tomorrow."

Song Anmin served dishes all day and was so tired he could barely lift his hands.

"Uncle, confess! You have to confess! My hands are about to break!"

Song Jianmin slumped in his chair; he had been standing all day and didn't even have the strength to speak.

Xu Guiying looked at Song Yangmin, who was silent beside her, and asked him, "Second brother, are you tired?"

Song Yangmin: "It's alright."

Song Jianmin: "..."

Song Anmin: "..."

Song Yangmin spent the whole day cutting vegetables and just sat in the back kitchen, not saying much. Song Jianmin sat there for two hours but couldn't stand it and went to the front to serve the dishes.

The second child is a real scoundrel.

The next day was Sunday, and the Song family came to help again, making it even more tiring than the first day.

During the week, fewer people came for lunch, mostly for fried rice, but the number of people increased again in the evening. After a week of operation, the overall business was quite good, with a net revenue of about two to three thousand yuan per day.

Xu Guiying instructed Xu Songyuan to hire a separate accountant to ensure the accounts were properly organized and that every total expenditure could be clearly seen each month.

Everyone in Heping Lane knows that Xu Songyuan opened a restaurant. They've watched him go from selling fried rice at a stall to running a restaurant, and they're all envious and jealous. Most of them have tasted Xu Songyuan's cooking. There's nothing they can do about it; his food is just too delicious.

The same dish tastes different when you cook it at home.

Urban villages.

Sun Xiumin was unaware that Xu Xue had been arrested. So much time had passed since the incident; surely the police wouldn't have the time to keep an eye on their home. Sun Xiumin had recently found a job as a cleaner and was living in a cramped alley.

On the day Xu Peng was arrested, Sun Xiumin was worried and headed towards Heping Lane. When she arrived, she saw that Xu Peng and his accomplices had already been arrested. The evidence was irrefutable, and Sun Xiumin was torn between two conflicting thoughts. Xu Peng's personality would definitely lead him to implicate her and Xu Xue. After much agonizing, Sun Xiumin went home and planned to take Xu Xue and run away.

Unexpectedly, Xu Xue had already gone home and packed her things to leave before her.

Sun Xiumin also quickly packed a few clothes and her documents and hid in the urban village.
