She hasn't been back these past few days.
I don't know what's going on with Xu Xue.
Sun Xiumin gets two days off each month, and at the end of December she went to the apartment downstairs from her old home.
She was dressed in thick clothes and wore a hat, so her figure was not clearly visible. When she returned home, everything inside had been cleaned and was covered in a layer of dust. Xu Xue had not returned.
Worried about being discovered, Sun Xiumin hurriedly went downstairs. Just as she was about to push open the iron gate at the bottom of the building, she heard people talking outside.
"That family has never come back."
"The landlords are all trying to sublet the apartments, but they haven't been able to find any tenants."
"Who would dare live in a house that a thief has stayed in? You never know when someone might come looking for revenge."
"The police even came to ask me questions that day."
"What did you ask?"
"Ask if that old woman has come back. She must be an accomplice! Her daughter has already been arrested."
"What? Xu Peng's sister got arrested?"
"You all don't know? My uncle works at the heavy machinery factory. He said that a young man in the budget department under the finance department took in Xu Peng's sister. He didn't know anything about the Xu family. Anyway, he made up some stories and arrested Xu Xue."
"Oh my, this is the net of heaven, vast in its meshes, yet nothing escapes it."
Sun Xiumin felt a chill run down her spine after hearing this.
The people outside lingered, and the conversation shifted from Xu Xue to collecting the eggs...
Sun Xiumin straightened her hat, pushed open the iron gate of the building entrance, and quickly walked out from the other side.
Xu Xue was also arrested...
Both children were arrested because of Xu Songyuan and his sister Xu Guiying!
Sun Xiumin felt a surge of anger. She bought a knife and headed straight for Xu Songyuan's shop.
When we arrived at the night market, we found that the fried rice stall was gone and had been replaced by a large restaurant.
Sun Xiumin thought subconsciously.
Has Xu Songyuan's shop gone out of business?
She took two steps forward and casually asked a roadside vendor nearby.
"Hey, they made a ton of money, and now they've turned it into a restaurant. The food isn't even that good, so why do so many people still go there to eat?"
Sun Xiumin suspected she had misheard.
"You mean that's the owner of the restaurant where I used to buy fried rice?"
"Yeah, why would I lie to you? Everyone has a different fate. It's only been a few months, and the restaurant is already open. You'll never have to worry about food and clothing again."
Sun Xiumin stared in the direction of Phoenix Pavilion, her figure swaying slightly.
Xu Songyuan opened a restaurant?
How is that possible?
Sun Xiumin continued to look, refusing to believe it, and soon a familiar figure appeared in the shop.
It was Xu Guiying who was helping out in the shop, collecting payments at the front desk. Through the glass window, you could also see Xu Songyuan inside, stirring the food.
Sun Xiumin's hatred reached its peak.
Their entire family was persecuted, some imprisoned, some executed, so why is Xu Songyuan still living such a good life?!
Sun Xiumin clutched the knife in her pocket and waited from 1 p.m. until after 3 p.m.
For more than two hours, the room was packed with people.
The older people were eating and drinking a lot inside, while the younger people mostly ate fried rice.
Seeing that Sun Xiumin was standing still, the stall owner asked curiously, "What's wrong? Do you need something? They're hiring a kitchen helper right now. If you know how to cook, you can go and ask them."
Sun Xiumin's face turned pale with anger. She took her hand out of her pocket, ignored the stall owner, and quickly returned to the urban village.
