The police station has already found Xiao Zhu's home address.
Song Anmin carried the baby on his back and rushed over with a lot of bags.
The Zhu family lived in a residential building, but the environment was not as good as Song Guomin's. It was noisy and chaotic downstairs, and there was garbage everywhere.
Song Anmin frowned the whole way, enduring the pain until he reached the third floor, where he pounded on the Zhu family's door.
Who is it?
As soon as the door opened, Song Anmin immediately blocked it with his foot.
"Are you Brother Zhu Hongyu?"
The person inside the door looked somewhat like Xiao Zhu; he had prominent forehead wrinkles and a fierce expression, making him appear unapproachable.
Zhu Qiang said gruffly, "Yes, that's me. Who are you?"
Song Anmin pointed to the baby on his back and untied the belt around his waist. "Zhu Hongyu's daughter. She's gone missing. I'm giving you the baby. You're her uncle."
Zhu Qiang spat out the toothpick in his mouth and sneered, "What do I care about Zhu Hongyu's daughter! I can't raise her, so get lost!"
Song Anmin frowned. "You're Guoguo's uncle! If you don't support her, who will?"
The police found out that Xiao Zhu's parents were no longer alive, and Xiao Zhu only had Zhu Qiang as a relative.
Zhu Qiang sneered: "She wanted to elope with another man, and now that she has a daughter, she doesn't care anymore. It's none of our business. We're telling you straight up, send her to an orphanage!"
Another woman came out of the house; she must have been Zhu Qiang's wife. Her words conveyed the same message: she didn't know how to raise Guo Guo!
Song Anmin was furious.
Zhu Qiang gave him a hard shove, and Song Anmin, who was supporting Guoguo, was accidentally pushed backward.
The door slammed shut.
Song Anmin angrily launched into a tirade of curses.
"Are you even human?! This is your own sister's daughter!"
"I don't care anymore! I'll just leave it here. If you want to take it to an orphanage, go and take it yourself!"
People came out from both the top and bottom of the stairs to watch the spectacle.
Song Anmin was furious, his eyes blazing with anger. He left the child at the Zhu family's door and then hid away.
Half an hour passed and no one came out to hold the baby.
Song Anmin met Guo Guo's dark, bright eyes and felt a pang of pity in his heart!
No! I can't be soft-hearted!
Song Anmin waited for another ten minutes or so, and Guoguo started to whine. It was time for her to eat her rice cereal.
Song Anmin paced back and forth, but finally couldn't resist and went forward to hug him.
He banged on the door while cursing, but the person inside wouldn't open the door or make a sound, clearly showing their irresponsibility.
Guoguo was still crying, and Song Anmin tried to comfort her while getting anxious. He had no choice but to go back to the police station.
Before I could say a word, I asked someone for some hot water, fed the baby first, and then asked the police what to do.
The police officer said that according to the law, the uncle has no responsibility to raise his nephew and niece. Xiao Zhu and her brother's parents had also passed away long ago, and that bastard was their only relative.
If Guoguo's uncle doesn't raise her, another option is to send her to an orphanage.
Song Anmin was hesitant. He had raised the baby for so long that he had developed feelings for even a cat or dog, let alone a baby who was growing up day by day.
Song Anmin returned to the Xu family dejectedly and asked Xu Songyuan for his opinion.
Xu Songyuan told him directly about Xu Xue's matter, which Song Anmin himself was already aware of.
Song Anmin, however, felt that Xu Xue herself had a problem. She was quite old when she recognized Xu Songyuan as her father, but Guoguo is still so young and can't even speak yet.
Moreover, even if it's your own child, if they turn out like Song Guomin, it's better to pretend you never had them.
Song Anmin struggled with this for several days.
Song Jianmin kept urging Song Anmin to stay and take care of him.
"At worst, we can just have Guoguo recognize you as her father! She can take the surname Song and be adopted directly. Anyway, you're not interested in women right now, having a daughter would be great!"
If Song Anmin doesn't have the money to support him, he can still give him a few yuan each month.
-
Song Anmin hesitated until June 18th, the day Song Yangmin and Qian Yu'an got married.
The bride was taken from her previous residence to Heping Lane by Song Yangmin.
Song Yangmin had his hair neatly combed and was wearing a Zhongshan suit. He was tall, handsome, and dashing. Qian Yu'an had her hair combed back and adorned with flowers. She had her makeup done and was wearing a fitted red dress. The two walked into Heping Lane. Balloons were tied to both sides of the lane at intervals, and the character for "double happiness" was pasted on the walls.
The residents of Heping Lane all came to watch the ceremony, and the children stood by the lane clapping their hands and shouting with joy.
Song Yangmin laughed heartily, while Qian Yu'an blushed. Both of them were good-looking, and Qian Yu'an was a familiar face in the alley. The wedding was even more lively than when Song Guomin and Liu Aimei got married.
The Qian family has also arrived, and now they are at the Song family's house, where the entire Song family is also present.
The newlyweds served tea to their elders and gave gifts. After completing the formalities, they went to a restaurant for dinner.
Grandpa and Grandma Qin came today too; Grandpa Song had delivered the invitations earlier.
The third and fifth brothers secretly found a table to sit at, and everyone who saw the baby they were holding was very curious.
"Are you the only one who came? She's so well-behaved, she didn't cry at all."
The one speaking was a little kid from a relative's family.
Song Anmin pointed at Song Jianmin, who was gnawing on a bone, and said expressionlessly, "Isn't he human?"
