On the other side, the second brother and Qian Yu'an offered toasts to this table.
Guoguo moved to Song Anmin's back and fell asleep.
The third and fifth brothers stood up to drink. Both brothers admired Song Yangmin, and what he said was sincere.
"Second brother, second sister-in-law, I wish you a long and happy marriage and many children."
Song Yangmin smiled gently, his eyebrows slightly raised. "Thanks."
The third and fifth brothers grinned.
Qian Yu'an couldn't help but pat Guoguo on Song Anmin's back, "So good."
Song Anmin, ever the irreverent one, said, "You two should hurry up and have one; your parents will be beaming with joy."
Qian Yu'an's face turned bright red.
Song Yangmin glanced at the third brother and warned, "Speak properly."
Song Jianmin chimed in, "That's what we call speed. My second sister-in-law is doing her university studies while also getting married. Ideally, she'll give birth during the summer vacation so she can continue her studies after the summer break."
Qian Yu'an's face turned even redder.
Song Anmin couldn't stand it anymore and tugged at Lao Wu.
"Shut up."
Song Yangmin kicked out and stomped on Lao Wu's buttocks.
The fifth brother steadied himself and chuckled, "Alright, I won't mention it anymore."
Old Sun and his friends at the next table joked, "Song Jianmin, do you also want to get married? If you like it, let Lao San raise Guoguo for you."
"No, no, no, I have a long way to go." Song Jianmin quickly waved his hand, "Guoguo is not for me to raise."
After Song Yangmin and his wife finished toasting, they went to Old Sun's table...
Song Guomin is still recovering from his injury, so he can't come even if he wanted to, and the Song family didn't invite him at all.
After finishing their meal, the third and fifth brothers slipped away, specifically using another entrance to the restaurant to avoid their mother and the others at the main entrance.
The two brothers were walking towards Heping Lane when suddenly they heard two familiar female voices behind them.
"Third brother, fifth brother!"
Song Rongrong and Song Yingying ran towards them.
I haven't had a proper look at Guoguo since I got back these past few days.
Song Rongrong patted the little one's forehead and asked curiously, "Third brother, are you really going to adopt her? Where did her mother go?"
Song Anmin: "I don't know, I haven't decided yet."
Song Yingying: "Third brother, if Guoguo's uncle doesn't raise her, does that mean she has to be sent to an orphanage?"
Song Jianmin said in English, "No, no, no, it's not that she doesn't want to raise the child, it's obvious that her uncle doesn't. Last time my third brother went over, he left the child at the door, but the people inside just wouldn't open the door."
Song Anmin sighed softly, "Never mind, let's not talk about it anymore. Today is my second brother's big day."
Song Anmin was extremely conflicted.
Back in Heping Lane, someone called out to Song Anmin to go play cards, but Song Anmin had no interest in it and just wanted to carry his child back to lie down and die.
Song Rongrong and Song Yingying stayed at the Song family's house for a while before Song Jianmin dragged them out for barbecue.
...
After dinner, the guests gradually left.
The Qian family has all returned to Biandan Village.
The young couple, Song Yangmin and his wife, also returned to the Song family home.
In the still of the night, three or four days passed accompanied by the chirping of insects.
The young couple were inseparable. Song Yangmin would take Qian Yu'an out to play during the day and return in the evening. Song Rongrong would occasionally go out with Song Yingying, but otherwise stay at home or wander around.
Yan Huai came to see Song Rongrong twice more, still unwilling to give up and wanting to get back together.
During the two or three years abroad, Yan Huai did not give up, but Song Rongrong never relented.
When Song Rongrong returned this time, she heard from her former university classmates that the junior who had been with Yan Huai had encountered many difficulties in her studies and work. After Yan Huai left, she found a senior at the university who already had a girlfriend. The senior sent someone to the junior's parents' workplace to expose the affair, but he didn't take the bait. Instead, he reported the junior's inappropriate behavior to the department head. The school didn't expel her, but teachers and classmates looked at her differently, and no one wanted to associate with her. Later, after graduation, she found a job where there were students from her year who directly told her about the good deeds the junior had done in school.
Later, the female student got into a fight with the male student. In a fit of anger, she pushed him down the stairs. Fortunately, he only broke his hand and didn't hit his head. The female student was expelled and we haven't heard anything about her since.
After hearing this, Song Rongrong couldn't help but sigh.
Why can't you find a single, unmarried young man? Why do you have to go after someone who already has a partner?
Song Rongrong couldn't understand it.
Yan Huai also knew about this, but he didn't care at all. As far as he was concerned, he had already ended things with that junior schoolmate. It was a matter of mutual consent, and neither of them forced the other. They were both adults and should be in charge of their own lives.
Early that morning, Song Rongrong and Song Yingying planned to go out to see a movie. When they came out of Heping Lane, Qin Zheng was waiting for them outside.
The three of them walked to the movie theater together. On the way, the two sisters did most of the talking, while Qin Zheng rarely spoke.
For several years, Qin Zheng has mostly walked behind Song Rongrong, and they have rarely walked side by side.
Time has buried that initial excitement deep in my heart.
Is it the vibrant and eye-catching first impression, or is it the obsession with not being able to get close?
Even now, Qin Zheng still doesn't understand what his feelings for Song Rongrong really are.
Song Rongrong remains vibrant and cheerful. After two or three years abroad, she has become even more confident and outgoing. She keeps moving forward, seemingly oblivious to the people behind her.
As soon as I arrived at the movie theater, I saw Yan Huai.
Yan Huai came with his college classmates. When he saw Song Rongrong, his face lit up with joy. "Rongrong."
"Get the hell out of here! How dare you call me Rongrong? Yan Huai, have you no shame? Stop bothering me!" Song Rongrong felt a headache coming on whenever she saw Yan Huai.
Song Yingying recognized Yan Huai and frowned, saying, "What are you doing? Don't you have anything to do?!"
