Chapter 414 Cooking Porridge

Stories helped pass the time, and soon the bottle was empty.

Song Rongrong received an IV drip and medication, and her condition improved significantly. She is now more alert, and thankfully, she doesn't have to go to work tomorrow, so she can rest at home.

After leaving the hospital, Ying Zhengqing walked beside Song Rongrong, barely saying a word the whole way.

There's nothing to eat on the street at this hour.

When they arrived at the door, Song Rongrong used her key to open it, but Ying Zhengqing stopped and didn't go upstairs.

Song Rongrong glanced at him sideways, "You...aren't you going up?"

Ying Zhengqing finally spoke: "Cook some porridge."

Song Rongrong's brow twitched slightly. "No need, I'll just eat something."

Ying Zhengqing: "If you faint and die at home, I will be the last person you see before you die. You will inevitably be questioned by the police. If word gets out, how will I be able to work?"

Song Rongrong had never realized Ying Zhengqing could be so venomous.

A single lick of the lips could poison oneself.

Ying Zhengqing stared at her surprised and uncertain face. "Do you really think I would do anything to a patient?"

Song Rongrong glared at him.

It's mockery, absolutely mockery!

Ying Zhengqing dared to laugh at her!

She's so angry!

Seeing that she hadn't moved for a while, Ying Zhengqing worried that she might actually get sick from getting angry, so he took the keys from Song Rongrong's hand and asked, "Aren't you cold standing outside?"

Ying Zhengqing opened the door and pushed Song Rongrong inside first.

The door was closed from behind.

Ying Zhengqing felt just as comfortable as if he were at home.

After placing the key on the cabinet, I glanced at the layout of her house and went straight to the kitchen.

Song Rongrong stared at Ying Zhengqing's back and followed him.

Ying Zhengqing: "Drink the porridge first, then take your medicine. Go sit down."

Song Rongrong remained in the kitchen. She hesitated, as if she wanted to say something, but then she heard Ying Zhengqing's rapid-fire speech.

"What? You thought I was going to poison you?"

"Can't you speak properly?!"

Ying Zhengqing filled a container with water and placed it on the stove. He glanced at Song Rongrong and said, "If you're worried, just stand here and let it freeze you into an ice sculpture."

After saying that, Song Rongrong turned around and left in anger.

I don't want to say another word to him!

Ying Zhengqing poured more water from the thermos and brought it to the living room, saying, "Have some water first."

Song Rongrong was still wearing her coat. "Thank you."

Ying Zhengqing glanced at the awkward expression on her face and smiled faintly, "Don't feel bad about it. It's just what I should do."

Song Rongrong looked up at him.

Ying Zhengqing: "People should know how to be grateful."

After a pause, Ying Zhengqing added, "Don't get angry, it'll affect your health."

Song Rongrong: "I'm not angry."

Ying Zhengqing: "If you feel unwell, go lie down in bed."

After saying that, Ying Zhengqing went to the kitchen to continue cooking the porridge.

Song Rongrong took a sip of water, took off her coat, changed into a thick coat she wore at home, wrapped herself in a quilt, sat on the sofa, and leaned against a cushion, feeling drowsy.

In just over half an hour, a simple bowl of white porridge was ready.

Ying Zhengqing woke the person up, "You can eat now."

Song Rongrong took the bowl, stirred it, and asked, "Aren't you going to eat?"

Ying Zhengqing's lips twitched. "You're really going to make me test the poison?"

"You really poisoned it?"

Ying Zhengqing scoffed, "Eat quickly! Then take your medicine!"

Song Rongrong: "I was just asking casually. Anyway, the last person I see before I die is you. If I really get poisoned to death, you will be called in for questioning too."

Ying Zhengqing leaned against the side, not wanting to say a word.

Seeing him clutching his chest, Song Rongrong couldn't help but ask, "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

Ying Zhengqing: "I almost fainted from anger because of you."

Song Rongrong: "..."

Song Rongrong stopped joking with him. After finishing her meal, she had to wait a while before taking her medicine.

"You can go back now."

Ying Zhengqing glanced at his watch. "I'll leave after you take your medicine."

Ying Zhengqing collected the bowls and went to the kitchen.

Watching his busy figure in the kitchen, Song Rongrong felt a strange unease. She continued to wrap herself in the blanket, took a sip of water from her cup.

Working until midnight, Ying Zhengqing waited until Song Rongrong had taken her medicine before leaving.

"I'm really ready, you can go now."

Ying Zhengqing: "Go lie down on the bed first."

What are you going to do?

Ying Zhengqing gave a slight smirk, "I'll get you some water."

Ying Zhengqing took the water bottle and cup directly into Song Rongrong's bedroom and placed them on the bedside table.

"When I wake up thirsty, I pour myself some water. The water is warm and I can drink it directly."

After saying that, Ying Zhengqing left the bedroom without looking back.

Song Rongrong felt a mix of emotions. She watched as Ying Zhengqing put on his coat, opened the door, and went out.

The house suddenly felt empty. The kitchen was spotless. Song Rongrong locked the door, turned off the lights, and went back to her bedroom.

-

At ten o'clock in the morning, there was a knock on Song Rongrong's door.

Song Rongrong was woken up by the noise and went to open the door while wearing her coat.

Outside the door, Ying Zhengqing, carrying a full load of groceries, entered the house without saying a word, appearing quite familiar with the place.

Song Rongrong's eyes widened. "Why are you here?"

Ying Zhengqing: "Surprised? Didn't I say I was coming last night?"

No, that doesn't mean we have to come this early.

Ying Zhengqing: "You eat breakfast first, I'll go make some soup, I'll call you when it's ready, I won't bother you."

Song Rongrong stood there, stunned, staring at Ying Zhengqing.

Seeing that she didn't move, Ying Zhengqing pursed his lips, raised his hand to touch her forehead, which was still a little hot, and urged her again:

"Hurry up, finish eating and go back to sleep."

Ying Zhengqing bought some non-greasy porridge and steamed buns for breakfast, urged Song Rongrong to eat, and poured her some water.

After last night, I'm much more familiar with the procedures for caring for patients.
