Chapter 99 Go to bed early

Chapter 99 Go to bed early

He picked up the smallest piece of ribs in a fit of anger, stuffed it into his mouth viciously, and chewed it hard, as if he was chewing Chi Cheng's meat.

But he couldn't help but glance at Chi Cheng again quickly.

Chi Cheng put down the soup spoon, picked up the napkin and wiped the corners of his mouth.

All the little movements that Wu Suowei thought were hidden were seen by him.

The little thing ate with gnashing teeth, but couldn't help but take a peek.

In those eyes, there was anger, frustration, fear, and a hint of... confusion and inquiry that he himself didn't even notice?

Chi Cheng's bad taste in his heart was greatly satisfied.

He enjoyed the way Wu Suowei was under his control, hated him but had to rely on him.

But what made him happier was the truth that Wu Suowei occasionally revealed - for example, now, like a kitten that was protecting its food and had its fur standing on end, it was obviously scared to death, but it couldn't bear to give up the meat in the bowl, and even looked at him secretly.

Initially, he was only interested in Wu Suowei's abnormal fear and the secret of "strangle me".

But now, this little interest has grown wildly like a vine, completely entangled into a strong possessive desire.

This is his person.

From the inside out, from fear to anger, even that stingy little thought and the occasional sunny nature, all made him feel...very interesting.

He was determined. There was no way he was going to let go. As for his method? His method was to keep her captive.

He drew a line with fear, satisfied him with material possessions, and watched him struggle within that line, adapt, and ultimately... accept his fate. Even bearing a little of Chi Cheng's mark.

Chi Cheng picked up the serving chopsticks, picked up the largest piece of tender pork trotter meat, and placed it steadily into Wu Suowei's almost overflowing bowl.

The movements were natural and carried an unquestionable meaning.

"Eat." His voice was still cold, but his eyes were fixed on Wu Suowei's eyes which widened instantly.

"You!" Wu Suowei almost broke his chopsticks as he looked at the huge thing in his bowl! Is this lunatic going to stop? Are you feeding him like a pig?!

"Chi Cheng! I can't eat so much! You..." He wanted to curse, but when he met Chi Cheng's deep, scrutinizing and a little...amusing eyes, the rest of the words got stuck in his throat.

He lowered his head in frustration, moved the piece of pig's trotter meat to the side of the bowl with chopsticks, and muttered softly: "...what a waste of food." His tone was filled with his unique, petty-bourgeois pain.

That small, complaining "What a waste of food!" scratched Chi Cheng's heart like a feather. The corner of his mouth curved upwards almost imperceptibly, so quickly that it seemed like an illusion.

He didn't press Wu Suowei any further, simply picking up his chopsticks and leisurely continuing to eat. His gaze, like an invisible net, remained fixed on the figure across from him, grumbling and worrying about the mountain of meat in his bowl. This little thing, even his complaints were so... genuine. Very good.

Wu Suowei curled up in the farthest corner of the sofa, holding an old tablet that Chi Cheng had thrown to him, and absentmindedly scrolling through the news on his phone.

But his ears were perked up, listening to the extremely subtle rustling sound coming from the side.

Chi Cheng is...feeding snakes.

Wu Suowei stared at the screen, his fingers sliding stiffly, forcing himself not to look.

But... the rustling sound was like a little hook, tickling him and making him feel itchy and creepy.

He hated Chi Cheng's omnipresent intimidation! But... a very faint voice in his heart said: It seems... he is really just feeding?

Besides, he really hasn't been deliberately scaring me in the past few days? As soon as this thought came to his mind, Wu Suowei ruthlessly suppressed it! Don't be soft-hearted! He's a lunatic!

He couldn't help it, and turned his head very slowly and a little bit at a time, secretly glancing at the other end of the living room out of the corner of his eye.

Chi Cheng stood in front of the incubator with his back to him.

He expertly opened the lid and plucked up a baby mouse with tweezers. The dim light from the floor lamp outlined his broad-shouldered, narrow-waisted figure, making him appear... surprisingly focused and... peaceful?

The golden corn snake swam over slowly and bit the food gently.

Chi Cheng did not close the lid immediately, but used his fingers to touch the smooth and cold back of the corn snake very gently.

The movements were accompanied by a kind of...almost gentle patience that Wu Suowei had never seen before?

Wu Suowei was stunned. He forgot to be afraid and forgot to look away.

Chi Cheng...the way he touched the snake...was completely different from his usual sinister and cold appearance.

An extremely complicated emotion surged in my heart.

The hatred remained, the fear hadn't subsided, but there seemed to be a hint of... inexplicable... curiosity? Even... a hint of an indescribable... strangeness? He felt his heartbeat quicken.

Chi Cheng seemed to sense the gaze behind him. He turned his head sharply! His eyes were as sharp as lightning, accurately catching Wu Suowei's look of astonishment and confusion before he could even retract it!

Caught peeking! Wu Suowei was terrified! He nearly dropped the tablet in his hand! He turned back as if burned, buried his face in the pillow, and his heart was beating so hard it almost jumped out! It was over! He was discovered! What was this madman going to do to him?!

The moment their eyes met, the astonishment, confusion, and even a hint of... inquiry in Wu Suowei's eyes, which he couldn't hide in time, struck Chi Cheng like an electric current.

It was no longer pure fear! No longer the disgust that shunned him like the devil! There was something else in those eyes!

This realization caused Chi Cheng's heart to surge with an almost fanatical desire for possession and satisfaction! He enjoyed Wu Suowei's fear, but at this moment, he enjoyed even more the new thing that grew out of this fear, something that belonged to him! He loved watching Wu Suowei struggle and change under his control!

Chi Cheng didn't threaten him with the snake, nor did he offer any sarcasm. He simply slowly closed the incubator's lid and locked it. Then, with long strides, he walked towards the figure huddled in the corner of the sofa, desperate to crawl into the crack in the ground.

Listening to the footsteps getting closer and closer, Wu Suowei's body tensed like a rock, his face flushed red as he buried it in the pillow. He felt Chi Cheng stop in front of him, and a huge shadow loomed over him.

Chi Cheng sat down on the sofa in front of Wu Suowei, very close to him but not touching him. He picked up the tablet Wu Suowei had dropped on the sofa and flipped through it. His voice echoed in the quiet living room, with a rare touch of...peace (at least for Chi Cheng): "What are you looking at so intently? You even dared to peek at me feeding the snake?"

"No...I didn't see it!" Wu Suowei buried his head in the pillow and denied it in a trembling voice.

Chi Cheng didn't expose him, but just put the tablet back next to him. "Go to bed early." After saying that, he stood up and walked straight to the stairs without looking at Wu Suowei.

The footsteps faded away. Wu Suowei finally dared to lift his face from the pillow, breathing heavily, his back covered in sweat. He stared blankly at Chi Cheng's back as he disappeared down the stairs, then glanced at the tablet beside him, and finally his eyes fell on the incubator, which had been closed.

My heart is as messy as a ball of wool that has been scratched by a cat.

Fearing him, hating him, yet... unable to resist exploring him? This conflicting feeling was driving him crazy.
