As soon as Shiranui finished speaking, she immediately received an admiring look from Yin Zhu.
Shiranui had seen that familiar look of worship far too often. First, in the human world, humans were filled with fear and adoration for the incomprehensible, nameless flame; later, in the demon world, monsters were filled with gratitude and adoration for her saving all the demons.
The adoration shown by the little girl in front of him was a pure worship of power, as if she was completely unafraid that she might not return on this journey.
Suspecting that she hadn't explained herself clearly, Shiranui added, "Just because I won't be frozen by the Yuki-onna doesn't mean I can save you in time. In the Yuki-onna's domain, violating the rules will result in being frozen at absolute zero. Some monsters that can't withstand the cold will be annihilated in just a few seconds."
While Shiranui can indeed melt the Yuki-onna's frozen crystals, it doesn't mean that all yokai can withstand the punishment for violating the rules.
—After all, this takes time!
After thawing, it's hard to say whether the monster inside is dead or alive.
"Ohhhhhh"
Yin Zhu deliberately dragged out the sound, making Shiranui feel even more that this little demon was courting death.
She didn't seem to care about such a big matter. If it weren't for the sake of the cat demon, she wouldn't mind putting on a barbecue show to let this bamboo tug boy know how dangerous the demon world is.
As they spoke, the four women arrived at the place where the Snow Woman slept.
The temperature here was significantly lower than the surrounding area, and it got colder the closer you got. Yin Zhu subconsciously put her hands into the cat's fur to rub them and warm them up.
The cat suddenly lowered its head, grabbed Yin Zhu by the back of her collar, and tossed her onto its back: "Hold on tight, don't fall." Buried in a patch of fluffy cat fur, Yin Zhu immediately felt much more comfortable.
Of the four members, only Yin Zhu was not cold-resistant and had no fur; the other three showed no abnormalities.
Yin Zhu poked her head out of the fur and immediately saw Shiranui's slightly mocking smile, so she hid her head back in the fur: She's just a little girl now, it's normal for her to be cold.
However, as the team moved forward, the temperature dropped and the environment became increasingly harsh.
At first, the temperature was just low, then frost began to appear on objects, and as you got closer, snow and ice clumps appeared, and white snowflakes began to fall from the sky.
"Hold on tight."
After giving a serious instruction, the cat covered its entire body with a cloak that was hidden somewhere, so that Yin Zhu was also covered by the cloth. Before losing sight of the outside world, Yin Zhu could only see that Shiranui had raised a red umbrella.
After advancing for a while, Yin Zhu felt that she was beginning to climb higher, and at the same time, a plaintive and cold song suddenly drifted in from the wind and snow.
Unable to see anything outside, she could only hear the cat's anxious voice: "Oh no, the Snow Woman has woken up."
"Let's retreat quickly," Shiranui decided immediately.
"Wait, don't turn back!"
The cat suddenly remembered something and tried to stop Shiranui, but it was too late.
Entering the Snow Woman's territory is easy, but leaving is not so easy. In the instant Shiranui turned around, she only saw a vast expanse of white snow, but could no longer see the way she had come.
The footprints that were originally left in the snow were covered up at some point.
Turning around again, Shiranui discovered that Nekomata and the Ice Pillar Woman who had been beside her were gone. The Ice Pillar Woman wasn't a problem; she felt right at home in this environment. But what if Nekomata was frozen solid…?
Shiranui narrowed her eyes.
Neither she nor the Yuki-onna could do anything to each other, so Shiranui didn't bother to remember the rules of the Yuki-onna's domain, since those punishments were none of her concern anyway.
It will only cause a little trouble at most.
On the other side, upon hearing the cat's meow, Yin Zhu shifted slightly on its back, afraid of rolling off, but ultimately abandoned the idea of jumping out of the cloak: "Cat Sister, what's wrong?"
The cat took another deep breath and said to Yin Zhu in the fastest tone, "Remember the Snow Maiden's rule. I will only say it once, and you must not speak."
Yin Zhu, perched on the cat's back, couldn't see that every time the cat spoke, a layer of frozen moisture appeared in the air. Fortunately, the cat was wearing a thick fur coat and cloak, so it didn't lose too much heat. Out of concern for Yin Zhu's safety, the cat recited a series of rules at top speed.
The fluency of her speech made Yin Zhu suspect that she had memorized these words a thousand times.
1. When you enter the Snow Woman's territory, please abide by the rules here. The Snow Woman hates all creatures that break the rules.
2. When traversing snow, you cannot turn back; you can only keep moving forward. Your footprints will be covered by the wind and snow, your sense of direction will be confused, and you will get lost in the endless snowfield.
3. When you hear strange noises in the snow, bury yourself in the snow and don't make a sound. No one will want to know what they are, nor will anyone want to know what the consequences will be if they find you.
4. If you see a woman in white in the snow, invite her to travel with you. Do not refuse her any questions she may ask.
5. Houses in the snowstorm can be entered for shelter.
6. The food in the Snowy Hut is for the host to serve guests. You may eat as much as you like, but please don't finish it all; leave some for the host.
7. When someone's life comes to an end, the wind and snow will stop, and that will be your only chance to leave.
There are only seven rules, with the first and seventh rules echoing each other, corresponding to the entry and exit of all visitors. This ensures that everyone who sees the rules, whether human, ghost, or demon, can clearly understand that they have entered the realm of the rules and how to leave.
