Cheng Zhu was the first to wake up.
She never had the habit of sleeping in when she was on the future planet. In the past, she would sit up abruptly when she heard the morning bugle call. Now that there is no alarm clock, her biological clock still makes her open her eyes early.
After urging Mary to get up early, Cheng Zhu made sure there were no problems outside, then went to wake Alice.
Rubbing her sleepy eyes, Alice yawned repeatedly, "It's so early... I'll sleep a little longer, come wake me up later..."
"No, the rules say that students cannot spend more than twelve hours in their bedrooms each day. We've already slept for almost ten hours." Cheng Zhu glanced at the time on the electronic alarm clock he had summoned, extinguishing Alice's desire to stay in bed longer.
As Cheng Zhu was about to go downstairs to the bathroom to brush his teeth and rinse his mouth, he suddenly stopped in his tracks.
The reason is simple: the bathroom door handle is red.
4. Each dormitory has a single toilet located at the bottom of the stairs on the first floor. When the doorknob is red, the toilet is in a dangerous situation; when the doorknob is blue, the toilet is safe. Students are requested to use the toilet in an orderly manner and avoid conflict.
"What's going on? They won't even let us use the toilet in the morning?" Cheng Zhu couldn't help but press his knuckles with his thumb, making a cracking sound.
Will doing this be bad for my bones?
Mary had never seen city people do this before, but her intuition told her that Cheng Zhu was very angry because he couldn't go into the bathroom when he woke up in the morning, so it was best not to go over and touch Cheng Zhu's brow.
Fortunately, this situation did not last long, and the bathroom doorknob returned to its blue color, so the three of them quickly finished their business.
After tidying up their belongings, the three of them left the dormitory area and headed towards the teaching building area. Cheng Zhu had assumed that since her major was different from the other two, they would have to go to different classrooms. However, as soon as she entered the teaching building, she had a bad feeling.
The three of them entered the teaching building together, but the moment they entered, all the classmates they had seen disappeared.
The first floor was deserted, with only Cheng Zhu standing at the entrance.
So this is the show you're putting on?
Cheng Zhu turned around, glanced at the equally empty doorway, and without thinking much, walked straight out. The moment she stepped out the door, Cheng Zhu felt a sense of crowding, as if countless people were pushing and shoving her to get out.
No, there are countless people.
One after another, classmates appeared out of nowhere around Chengzhu, their faces filled with terror. They ran frantically towards the exit of the teaching building, quickly crowding the area.
Wait, where did all these students come from?
Cheng Zhu's brain froze for a second before he quickly summoned his AI: "Hey, is there a problem with the personalized recommendations? Why are there so many people?"
“Christine, the personalized notifications are connected to the mainframe database, there shouldn’t be a problem… Ah, it really is malfunctioning.” Ya showed a genuinely shocked expression, floating near Cheng Zhu. Seeing Cheng Zhu being practically carried by the crowd, she hurriedly reminded her anxiously, “Get away from the crowd quickly, or Christine will be crushed to death! Personalized notifications can’t block out people around you, and there are a lot of students inside Slote High School right now!”
"I'm trying my best..." Cheng Zhu was well aware of this common sense, after all, stampedes would occasionally occur on Future Star.
But there were just too many people, making it difficult for her to even turn around, let alone break through the crowd. Feeling her breathing becoming increasingly difficult, Chengzhu realized the seriousness of the situation and tried to move to the edge: "Excuse me, classmate..."
"Everyone, follow my instructions and don't move."
Suddenly, a high-pitched soprano voice pierced the sky, its resounding tone silencing everyone present and bringing a brief silence to the shoving crowd.
In the brief moment when everyone stopped, Cheng Zhu saw a gigantic human figure appear before them, almost triggering her megalophobia—this woman appeared as a projection, quickly joining forces with artificial intelligence to direct everyone to evacuate safely and instruct them to wait patiently outside the teaching building for the personalized push system to be restored.
Standing by the roadside, Chengzhu whispered to Ya, "Why does she look so familiar?"
Ya turned to look at the huge projection, then at Cheng Zhu's sincere face, and began to explain earnestly: "Principal Rowena is the current principal of Slote High School, and the prototype of the statue that Christine saw when she first entered the school."
"Did you see Alice and Mary?"
Cheng Zhu had sent messages to the two of them beforehand, but he couldn't reach either of them, which made him suspect that they hadn't come out directly like he had.
The moment Cheng Zhu saw the people around him disappear, alarm bells went off in his head. He immediately tried to exit, and finding that he could, he decisively gave up the chance to go forward. However, he didn't expect that if entering the door directly blocked out the people around him, then exiting it would mean that no one was blocked out at all, and the scene of people crowding together instantly turned into complete chaos.
"Students, the teaching building is suspected of being infected by a virus, which is interfering with the school's system. Students who have restored the [Personalized Push System], please go to the library to rest."
Principal Rowena's voice came over the school's loudspeaker as she began to direct the students' actions.
After all, there are probably at least four figures of students near the teaching building, and it's not a good idea for them all to be crammed here. If there's a place to study and rest, then the library is the obvious choice.
Cheng Zhu raised his head and looked at the Slot Library, which resembled a planetarium, wondering how he had followed the crowd here.
