Is this even possible?
That being said, the Contract Doll's ability is to perceive things that the Ghost Storyteller doesn't know. In other words, even if she doesn't peek, she can still know what cards the other party has in their hand!
Isn't this just a X-ray vision cheat?
Why be a coward? Let's go! Jiang Ran wasn't planning to let this opportunity slip by anyway, and now he's even more confident!
A wolf's head phantom appeared, but surprisingly, it didn't immediately explain the rules. Instead, it stared at Jiang Ran and asked, "This gentleman seems to be participating in the betting table for the third time, right?"
"So what if it is? I remember the host said there was no limit to the number of times you could play at the betting table."
"No, that's true. But starting this time, the difficulty of the game might be completely different. Are you sure you still want to participate, sir?"
This is a betting table. No matter how difficult the game becomes, it won't be a trap for Jiang Ran alone. Rather, he hopes the game will be as difficult as possible, ideally leaving the other side completely confused and clueless!
“I’m already sitting here, so there’s no reason for me to back down.” Jiang Ran turned to look at Kojiro across from him. “I suppose you won’t back down either, right?”
"Yes, no, you're kidding! How could I possibly back down!"
“Alright.” The wolf-headed phantom nodded. “Next, I will explain the rules of the game to you two.”
"My game is called 'The Abandoned Warehouse Where No One Survived.' Next, I will teleport you two to two separate ghost story spaces. Be aware that there is no way to escape from these spaces. In these spaces, whoever survives longer than the other, even if it's less than a second, will be considered to have won the game!"
"The winner will receive one red flower, and the loser will lose two red flowers. You cannot quit the game after hearing the rules, otherwise you will be considered to have lost. Please place your hands on the stone table."
The loser loses two red flowers?!
It seems that as the number of times the betting table is participated in increases, the punishment for the loser will become more severe, while the reward for the winner will never change, depending only on the person who participates in the betting table the most times.
Kojiro's face darkened instantly. If he had known that failure would result in the deduction of two red flowers, he would never have participated in this game. To him, it was a death threat!
Unfortunately, there's no turning back once the arrow is released; he can only pray that he can win the match.
The two placed their right hands on the stone table, and the stone table lit up with a pale red light!
"Game begins!"
When Jiang Ran opened his eyes again, he found himself in a dimly lit warehouse. However, he wasn't the only one who had been teleported in; Gwen had been there as well.
"Didn't you say only one person can come in at a time? Oh right, you're a ghost, so you don't count as a person."
"Your tone doesn't seem very respectful to me!"
Gwen shuddered as if she had just remembered something. She gestured for Jiang Ran to move closer, her voice filled with fear: "That wolf-headed phantom is a real, eerie creature! And it seems really powerful... Hmm, if we really fought, I definitely couldn't beat it!"
Humans rarely seem to judge the fighting strength of supernatural creatures. After all, even a small ghost can kill most people in a fight. Therefore, humans only categorize the fighting strength of supernatural creatures into two types—
Those who can kill and those who cannot.
In fact, almost anyone who breaks the rules will die, and it doesn't matter to a ghost storyteller what kind of strange creature kills them.
Jiang Ran looked at Gwen's small frame and patted her head reassuringly: "Look at how small you are, your individual ID is already over 500, it's normal that you can't beat her."
"Huh?! You pervert, don't touch me! I'll beat you up!" Gwen immediately bristled, even gesturing with her little fists. "Don't look down on people! Oh, wait, don't look down on monsters!"
"There aren't many strange creatures that can defeat me... ten!"
An eerie silence fell over the room.
"Forget it, let's look for clues in this warehouse instead."
"You're just changing the subject, aren't you? You must be changing the subject! I'm really not weak, you have to believe me!"
Jiang Ran first checked the dusty windows, which were boarded up and obviously could not be opened. There seemed to be something glowing on the other side of the window.
Those were eyes stained with blood.
The woman across the window was disheveled and covered in blood. She stared at Jiang Ran, twisting her neck and making cracking sounds.
"Found you!"
The woman's face startled Jiang Ran. When he turned around, the woman across the window had disappeared, and instead, he heard a loud running sound!
"It looks like we need to leave this room."
Jiang Ran shook the only door in the room, but something seemed to be blocking it from the outside, making it impossible for him to open.
"If you want, I can help you break down the door by force!"
Gwen clenched her little fists, eager to try!
“This door is not one that humans can open.” Jiang Ran stroked his chin. “In other words, the original escape route definitely wasn’t to break down the door. Doing that would put us outside the rules and make things even more dangerous.”
Perhaps that inhuman, ghostly woman will enter the room through this door, and if he tries to leave through this door, the two of them might bump into each other!
That would be a really big joke!
"Can the ventilation ducts be removed?"
Jiang Ran looked up and surveyed the entire room. There was no ventilation duct, not even a second window. The corners were covered in cobwebs, and the flickering lights added to the eeriness.
The sound of running grew closer and closer. It was estimated that if Jiang Ran did not leave the room within a minute, he would be at risk of losing his life!
"If the pressure of time reduces some of the difficulty, then finding the escape route shouldn't be too hard."
Since doors, windows, and ventilation ducts are not safe for escape, after eliminating incorrect answers, only the correct answer remains!
"Gwen, help me see if there's a basement in this room!"
Gwen shrugged helplessly: "My abilities are greatly reduced here, so don't expect me to point out everything to you."
"But if I stay here longer, I should be able to get a lot more information."
"If I could, I wouldn't want to stay here any longer." Jiang Ran clasped his hands together: "Kojiro, go to hell!"
The room was only so big. Jiang Ran stomped around on the floor and finally found a hollow spot. There must be a passage underneath!
There was no hidden door on the floor, and the floor itself was so corroded that it was extremely fragile. It seemed that this was the real location where the forced entry was made!
