Chapter 78 A Perilous Chase

Jiang Ran slammed his fist on the floor, causing countless cracks to appear, but his own hand was also shaken and ached.

"It would be great if we had some tools."

Oh right, although we don't have tools, we do have people who can use them!

"Gwen! Come here!"

"I'm accusing you of exploiting child labor!"

"Damn it! Didn't you just say you'd help me break down the door? Breaking the floor won't make a difference. If we're too slow, that bastard over there might catch up!"

Gwen sighed briefly and slammed her fist on the floor!

The floor shattered instantly, revealing a tunnel large enough for one person to pass through. With time running out, there was no time to hesitate, so Jiang Ran was the first to go in, followed closely by Gwen.

The room had been dimly lit, but now the tunnel was completely dark, leaving Jiang Ran groping in the dark and forcing him to walk close to the walls.

But he didn't dare slow down, lest the guy behind him catch up.

"Wait, stop!"

Gwen suddenly called out to Jiang Ran.

"What's wrong?"

"The ground in front of you is full of nails. If you keep going at this speed, you'll probably be stuck here forever."

The strange creature possesses extraordinary night vision; what Jiang Ran cannot see is nothing to Gwen.

Setting up nails on a road that is completely invisible to humans is incredibly sneaky. Jiang Ran has to say that this game is too cunning. If you move forward quickly, you won't be able to guard against the nails. If you move cautiously and slowly, you will be caught up by the ghostly thing behind you!

Jiang Ran slowly stretched out her foot to test the way, then pushed aside the nails on the ground and slowly made her way through.

"Alright, that's over. You can speed up now!"

OK!

On the other side, Koji Gojiro had just broken through the floor and entered the tunnel when he heard the ghost woman knocking on the door. Then came a violent banging, which terrified him!

"Don't panic! I'm not trying to escape from here, I just want to outlive Jiang Ran!"

Kojiro didn't dare to be careless and immediately accelerated, speeding through the darkness!

"You little monster, how could you possibly catch up with me, the Sakura Champion... Ah!"

It was obvious that he had stepped on a nail.

Kojiro felt a sharp pain in his foot and collapsed to the ground. The numerous nails piercing his skin caused him excruciating pain, almost causing him to faint!

"Reset Moment!"

Kojiro possesses an S-rank talent, a rarity in Japan! His talent allows him to teleport up to 10 meters in a certain direction, resetting all of his body's status during the process!

From the perspective of survival alone, it may not seem particularly powerful, but the important thing is that he can use it five times in one world!

Kojiro instantly disappeared from the group of nails, his back already soaked with cold sweat. Before he could even feel fear, the ghost woman was about to catch up, so he had no choice but to keep moving forward!

Jiang Ran had arrived at the fork in the road. As he walked, all that remained in front of him was a wall, which appeared to be a T-junction. Now he needed to choose one of the two roads to continue forward.

In a game like this, making the wrong choice probably means certain death.

"Is there...wind on the left?"

Jiang Ran stretched out his arms and waved them in front of the two intersections. A gentle breeze blew from the left, while there was no movement from the right.

"This wind feels so strange, so predictable, so we should go to the right, right, little Gwen?"

"You're smart enough, wait, what do you mean by 'Little Gwen'?! Don't give me nicknames with your twisted ideas!"

"It's okay, small ones are cute too."

I'll beat you up!

Kojiro also arrived at the intersection. There was wind on one side and no wind on the other, which seemed easy to judge. He plunged into the left lane!

Actually, if you give both players enough time to think, this game isn't that difficult. Even someone like Kojiro Koji should be able to safely pass most of the levels.

However, the real difficulty of this game lies in the fact that there is something constantly putting pressure on you from behind, resulting in very little actual thinking time. If you can't come up with the correct answer in a short time, it's no different from making the wrong choice.

Kojiro dared not increase his speed too much, fearing that he would step on the same nail as before. With this uneasy feeling, he walked all the way to the end of the left passage.

That was a large, electrically powered fan, and the wind was coming from there.

"Damn it! I got ripped off!"

Kojiro was about to turn back when he heard the sound of running behind him getting clearer and clearer. If he turned back now, he would definitely bump into that ghost woman!

But this is a dead end. What else can he do if he doesn't turn back?

Kojiro took a deep breath and pressed himself against the wall. The ghost woman's voice was getting closer and closer. He knew that this clumsy disguise could not fool her.

"Found you!"

The demon woman tore through Koji Gojiro's chest with a single claw. At the last second, Koji Gojiro used his talent, Instant Flash, to escape and frantically fled through the blood-scented corridor!

Ten meters is no safe distance. Taking advantage of the woman's momentary lapse in concentration, Ke Er Wucilang had no choice but to run for his life!

This lousy game is really killing me!

Passing through the passage on the right, with a faint light flashing ahead, Jiang Ran and Gwen arrived at the next room. The door here was a large iron gate, which Jiang Ran slammed shut, hoping it would keep the woman at bay for a while.

In the dim light, Jiang Ran could tell that this was a storage room. Wooden boxes of different sizes were piled up haphazardly on the ground, and blood seeped from the wooden boards, staining the entire floor red. Jiang Ran wasn't particularly interested in what was inside.

"The room has no windows and no basement?"

This room is a standard locked room; apart from the iron door that leads in, there seems to be no way to leave!

The woman had already run outside and was frantically pounding on the iron door. The door had been slightly dented, and it seemed that she couldn't open it for the time being, but it was only a matter of time!

"Found you! Found you!"

The frenzied roars echoed in the small room. Jiang Ran calmed himself down. He first pushed a wooden crate to the doorway to reinforce the defenses, and then asked Gwen to move the wooden crates in the room with him.

Perhaps there is a basement, but the entrance is blocked by these wooden crates!

This guess is quite plausible. Unfortunately, even after moving all the wooden crates to a different location, the two still couldn't find the so-called entrance to the basement.

The knocking outside the door grew more urgent, as if death itself was knocking.
