Chapter 10 The Consequences of Greed

Chapter 10 The Consequences of Greed

"First, you cannot act without my permission. Second, you cannot leave the team. Third, the prey you obtain must be divided equally among everyone. Can you do this?"

Everyone nodded and urged Xu Miaomiao: "Madam Song, don't worry, we will definitely listen to you and leave quickly."

Xu Miaomiao took a deep breath, took the backpack and fork, and led everyone forward.

The woods are surrounded by mist, and the sound of birds chirping adds a touch of mystery to the forest.

Everyone followed behind Xu Miaomiao, watching the changes around them with vigilant eyes. They didn't dare to relax their hands holding the fork for a moment, and they moved forward cautiously with their necks hunched.

Xu Miaomiao was wondering why the forest always seemed full of life when she came there in the past, but was so quiet today.

The group walked for dozens of minutes and didn't see even a pheasant. Everyone began to doubt Xu Miaomiao's ability.

"Madam Song, how come every time you came in, there were always wild rabbits and pheasants? But today, when you came with me, I didn't even see a single rabbit hair."

Xu Miaomiao frowned and looked in the direction of the voice. It was Wang Xing'er's brother Wang Mang who spoke. The man picked up a dogtail grass, made a nonchalant sound, and walked in the forest with some displeasure.

"You have to find your own prey, so why not just wait for them to come to you?"

Xu Miaomiao retorted, and Wang Mang kept silent and looked at her with dissatisfaction.

"roar-"

A familiar voice came, and Xu Miaomiao stared at the grass with her dark eyes, praying in her heart, hoping that it was not a tiger cub that came out.

A bright yellow figure flashed by, and everyone was startled. It moved a little closer to Xu Miaomiao.

Figures flickered back and forth in the forest, and the leaves rustled. Wang Mang, who had just been bored, trembled with fear and slowly said to Xu Miaomiao: "Song, Madam Song, you have to protect me."

"roar-"

A little guy jumped in front of Xu Miaomiao and stretched his head towards her obediently.

Xu Miaomiao touched it and urged the little guy to go quickly. But the little tiger stayed by Xu Miaomiao's side and didn't want to leave.

"It's actually a little tiger. We can definitely make a lot of money if we catch one like this."

As he spoke, Wang Mang's eyes lit up and he stabbed Xiaohu with the fork.

Xu Miaomiao grabbed the fork, stopped him from opening his mouth and said, "No, if you catch the little tiger and attract the big tiger, our lives will be in jeopardy!"

The others looked a little relieved, but Wang Mang continued to speak without caring: "So what? Just catch Xiaohu and kill him, and then get out of the mountain quickly."

Everyone was silent. Wang Mang grinned and chased after Xiaohu.

Xiaohu bared his teeth at him and stepped back.

Xu Miaomiao was about to stop them when she heard another roar from the forest.

"roar-"

"Hurry, everyone, climb up the tree!!!" Xu Miaomiao said anxiously, her voice trembling a little.

Everyone did not hesitate and ran towards the tree while kneeling and crawling.

Only Wang Mang's eyes wandered, still fixed on the tiger cub. He quickly pounced on the tiger cub and grabbed its neck.

Xu Miaomiao wanted to persuade him to let go, but it was too late.

The big tiger pounced forward, bit Wang Mang's leg and dragged him for several meters.

Wang Mang fell to the ground, sweating profusely, crying and screaming in pain, and kept muttering: "Madam Song! Madam Song, save me!!!"

Da Hu bit Wang Mang's right leg tightly and looked at his child with heartache. Da Hu was in a state of madness. Xu Miaomiao was not sure and did not dare to speak out to stop him.

He rummaged around in his own space, took out a soothing herb and put it around his waist, then slowly walked towards Dahu.

As she moved forward, the tiger released its cub from its mouth and stepped back.

Xu Miaomiao tentatively reached out her hand to comfort Dahu.

Da Hu sniffed her and relaxed, rubbing his head against her gently.

Xu Miaomiao squatted down to check the tiger cub's injuries and found a small bloodstain on its neck, which should have been caused by the fork Wang Mang had used just now.

He took out healing powder from the space and applied it on the tiger cub's neck. The big tiger glanced at Xu Miaomiao, then carried the tiger cub away.

Only then did Xu Miaomiao breathe a sigh of relief.

"Madam Song, if you have time to save that beast, can you please take a look at my legs first!!!"

Wang Mang rolled on the ground in pain. The hunters in the trees also came down and looked at Wang Mang's miserable state.

Xu Miaomiao cut open his trouser legs, revealing a bloody mess that made people sigh.

Four deep holes pierced through his legs, leaving a bloody mess.

Xu Miaomiao immediately took out the medicine powder to stop the bleeding. Everyone gathered together and said, "If Madam Song had told me that you can tame tigers, I wouldn't have panicked."

Someone nearby echoed, "That's right, Madam Song. If you had told me earlier, Wang Mang wouldn't have been injured so badly."

"Ha." Xu Miaomiao sneered and said, "I've said it before. If you want to follow me into the mountains, you have to listen to me. But Wang Mang acted on his own. Seeing Da Hu's crazy look just now, who dares to step forward!"

Everyone fell silent and looked at each other.

Wang Mang was in so much pain that he was somewhat unconscious and fell to the ground, unable to move.

"We have to go back quickly. His injuries must be treated immediately."

"this……"

Everyone looked at each other hesitantly. They had caught everything when they went into the mountains today, but they were going back empty-handed. No matter what, they were unhappy.

"Madam Song, we can't return empty-handed today."

Xu Miaomiao's eyes darkened and she snorted in her heart: As long as the fire doesn't burn on myself, no one else will care about you.

"Wang Mang's illness cannot be delayed. If it is delayed any further, I am afraid that his leg will not be saved."

Xu Miaomiao spoke up, and everyone could only happily carry Wang Mang back.

The grass in the forest was green, as if the birds were cheering for their departure.

Following the marks they made when they came, everyone shuttled through the forest, hoping that a rabbit, pheasant or something would suddenly appear.

But contrary to reality, they encountered nothing.

Xu Miaomiao felt her feet go soft and she discovered that this piece of land was softer than other places.

I squatted down and took a closer look. After pulling aside the dense grass, I saw a piece of Ganoderma lucidum before my eyes.

The eyes of the people following behind him lit up, and they said in a surprised tone: "It's Ganoderma lucidum!!!"

"It has to be Madam Song. We have come here many times but never found the Ganoderma lucidum in the bushes. Madam Song saw it as soon as she came."

As he said this, he left the injured Wang Mang aside, and everyone rushed to dig up the Ganoderma lucidum, not even letting go of the tiny seedlings.

"Pick some mature ones and leave the young ones alone. Remember not to be greedy. Wang Mang's illness won't last long."

But Xu Miaomiao's words did not attract the attention of the crowd. They just kept their heads down, their hands kept moving, and they responded perfunctorily: "I know, I know. Don't worry, Madam Song, we have it in mind."

As the sky darkened, the afterglow of the setting sun gradually faded.

Xu Miaomiao fed Wang Mang another hemostatic pill and kept urging everyone: "We should leave now. We can't stay any longer."

The only answer she got was silence.

"If we don't leave now, Wang Mang's legs will be crippled."

"Right away."

Everyone responded, but their bodies still showed no intention of leaving.

Xu Miaomiao looked at Wang Mang and sighed. She had no way of resisting this big man.

"Leave quickly, I'll bring you here another day."
