Chapter 1: New Arrival
Another midsummer.
The noisy, crowded train carriage was filled with steam, and the air was filled with the smell of sweat from the crowd. The people sitting next to each other were talking and arguing, spit flying everywhere.
Cen Nian was holding a bulging schoolbag, his thin body wearing a white T-shirt, staring out the window intently.
Sitting behind her was a group of young people who looked about the same age and had been talking non-stop since they got on the bus.
The boy's clear voice was a little deep, like a voice change: "Move your butt a little bit."
"Damn! You're taking up two seats!" another teenager shouted unwillingly.
"You go sit across from me. Si Yang will come and sit here later."
"Okay, by the way, where's Si Yang? The train is about to leave and there's no sign of him. Don't buy a plane ticket without telling us, just fly back."
"Maybe. That young master is very expensive. He originally booked a four-star hotel. Si Yang said the bedsheets were disgusting, so he rebooked a five-star one. Look at that guy."
The other boy didn't say anything. Only Qin Zhouyan would dare to do such a thing as making up stories about Jin Siyang.
They stood up and looked around. The train seats were back to back and the seats shook with their movements.
The staff on the train platform were busy whistling. Cen Nian looked at his phone and the number jumped to the hour, and the train started immediately.
Her nose suddenly felt itchy, and the next second she covered her mouth and nose and sneezed slightly. When she looked up again, a young man walked in from the carriage door.
Her foggy eyes became clear, and a young man came into her sight.
He was wearing a white T-shirt, with an upright posture. His broad shoulders supported the T-shirt, revealing his neat features and lean chest muscles. His fine bangs vaguely concealed the impatience between his brows.
The train aisle is narrow, and many people are standing in the aisle chatting with their acquaintances.
Cen Nian followed the young man with his eyes. He leaned sideways and said, "Excuse me."
He was out of tune with everything around him and was a very abrupt presence.
The boy took a few steps to Cen Nian's position. She sat up straight somehow, and she caught a glimpse of the boy stopping right behind her.
She didn't look back, that would have seemed too deliberate.
"Damn, you're finally here. I thought you bought a plane ticket and ran away!" The more lively boy couldn't hide his joy in his tone.
"So, this is the punishment for that idiot Qin Zhouyan losing the bet?"
The young man's voice was clear and a little cold, and his words were clear and melodious, which sounded very nice.
The young man named Qin Zhouyan said with a smile: "Si Yang, don't you think the green train has a unique flavor? Isn't life all about experience? If I hadn't lost the bet, would we be here today?"
"Is this everyone's first time riding a green train?"
Jin Siyang's tone was calm, without any special emotion, "Get inside."
"Okay!"
Compared to the talkative Qin Zhouyan, Jin Siyang obviously speaks less, but every time he speaks, he always seems to want to shock the audience with his words.
Cen Nian looked out the window boredly. The journey from his hometown to Beijing was not that boring. At least there were some interesting people sitting in the back.
They talked about games and school gossip. When they talked about the dean, their tone could not hide their indignation. Then they talked about the boy named Jin Siyang who went to watch the sunset in the southern hemisphere last holiday.
From their few words, Cen Nian concluded that she and they should be of the same age, and they chose the green train because they lost a bet.
No wonder there was a hint of impatience in the boy's eyes.
When the train arrived at the station, everyone stood up in advance to make preparations. Cen Nian put on his backpack, waited for the people outside to get their luggage, and then stood up and walked to the aisle.
Her suitcase was a bit heavy, so a kind uncle put it on her when she got on the bus. Now the uncle was already waiting at the door, ready to get off the bus impatiently.
Cen Nian had some strength. If there was enough space around her, she could easily take it down with a little effort. But unfortunately, people were crowded in the aisle, which made her feel troubled.
While she was hesitating, a pair of strong hands rose from her side and grabbed the target of her suitcase. The next second, her suitcase was placed in front of her neatly.
Cen Nian was stunned for a moment, and Jin Siyang just raised his chin slightly: "You can go now."
She was stunned for two seconds, not daring to look into the man's eyes, and could only whisper back, "Thank you."
Jin Siyang didn't react much, as if he didn't hear her thank you.
He followed Cen Nian, but she always felt uncomfortable, either worrying about whether her hair was washed clean or whether her clothes were wrinkled.
After finally getting off the car, she breathed a sigh of relief. Looking back, she saw the young man walking straight past her without even glancing at her.
The noise around him was like air to him, and to her as well.
Cen Nian felt a little humble and low for no reason.
Jiang City is a modern city where everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses.
And at this moment, she was standing on the land of Jiang City, ready to welcome its baptism.
When I walked to the exit of the train station, I saw a black car parked at the intersection. The middle-aged man next to the car had a solemn and steady face, but he suddenly smiled when he saw someone.
He trotted over to Jin Siyang and said, "Siyang, you're back."
"Um."
The middle-aged man pushed the suitcase for him. Jin Siyang walked slowly, followed by Qin Zhouyan. He pushed the suitcase to catch up: "I wanted to hitchhike, but someone from home is coming, so I have to leave first."
Jin Siyang nodded very lightly.
The two men passed her, creating a gust of wind that blew away the incident that had just happened.
Cen Nian glanced at him for a moment and then looked away. There was a middle-aged man next to him, carrying a large sack. He seemed quite familiar. "I saw that boy helping you carry your luggage just now. I thought you two knew each other."
Cen Nian had just arrived and was a bit cautious, so he could only smile awkwardly and said nothing.
The uncle's envious eyes fell on the black car: "Look at your expression, little girl, you know you don't know this car, it's a Bentley, it's worth millions."
He pondered for a long time and said, "Why would such a person take a train?"
Cen Nian gave an awkward laugh: "I don't know either."
"Oh, of course you don't know." The uncle looked her up and down and said, "If you knew, would you still be standing here like an idiot?"
“…”
Uncle, are you polite?
The summer in Jiang City was so hot that it made people feel dizzy. Cen Nian stood under the shade of a tree and sweated a little. After another half an hour, the angle of the sunlight gradually tilted to the west, and the heat that had just been rising finally dissipated a little.
There were a lot of people coming and going at the train station. Cen Nian stood there for a long time but didn't see anyone. Finally, he couldn't stand it anymore and had to sit on the suitcase, waiting quietly for someone.
Before she came, the man told her that it would be good to come to Jiang City, where someone would pick her up.
She was not a very courageous person. The most prosperous place she had ever been to since she was a child was the city center of Ning City. But now, she was standing in the huge Jiang City with her suitcase, and she was still a little dazed.
She sat on the suitcase in a daze, counting ants out of boredom. When she looked up again, a black and luxurious car stopped in front of her.
Cen Nian blinked her long eyelashes, feeling that the car in front of her was somewhat familiar, but the windows were tightly closed and she couldn't see clearly what was inside. She stood up to make room for the car, and a man got out of the driver's seat.
The man was very tall, with a northern physique and a sturdy build, but he had a kind face.
He gave Cen Nian a gentle and polite smile: "Excuse me, are you classmate Cen Nian?"
Cen Nian nodded dully: "Yes, I am." After she finished speaking, she showed a look of regret. She was so frank in front of a stranger, but the middle-aged man in front of her did not look like a liar.
She trusts her intuition.
