Chapter 16 Unforeseen Heartbeat
As the night deepened, the lights in the classroom went out. Cen Nian put the test paper Zhu Zhiyao gave him into his schoolbag and walked out of the classroom slowly.
At this time, there were only a few classmates going downstairs together, so I didn’t feel scared.
She walked to the place where she had agreed to meet with Uncle Li. When she returned to the Jin family, Aunt Liu was preparing to cook a bowl of wontons.
"Nian Nian is back. I made some pork wontons. They'll be ready soon."
"Thank you, Aunt Liu!" Cen Nian walked to the dining table. She was surprised to see an old cell phone sitting where she usually sat. "Aunt Liu, is Jin Siyang back?"
"I'm back. I just finished eating some wontons and went upstairs."
Cen Nian held his cell phone and ate wontons absentmindedly.
Returning to the room, she pressed the power button and a few frames of animation appeared on the screen. After ten seconds, the familiar wallpaper came into view.
The location of the applications and wallpapers in the phone were the same as before. She opened the album with some hope. There were a total of 1,263 photos and 17 videos, not one missing.
Grandma's smile, the dishes she cooked, and the way she secretly filmed her grandmother sleeping... Looking at the photos, she seemed to be back in that scene. Cen Nian clicked on the video, and the speaker on the phone became clearer. Grandma asked in a loving voice, "What are you filming again?"
Cen Nian smiled and replied, "I'm taking a video for grandma."
Grandma didn't know whether to laugh or cry: "Grandma is old and doesn't look good in photos."
"No way, grandma looks good no matter how she's photographed."
Cen Nian's eyes were filled with tears, and her long eyelashes blinked slightly, and a few tears fell on the screen. She wiped away her tears and looked at the intact phone. Her heart was filled with something, and her heartbeat accelerated at that moment.
There were sounds all around her that were unique to the night, the indescribable whistling of the wind, the chirping of insects hidden among the leaves, and the faint noise. All these sounds were silenced at this moment, and it seemed as if she was the only one left in the world.
Cen Nian covered his chest, and that place was beating violently.
Ten minutes later, she stood at the door of Jin Siyang's room. She bit her lip, took a few breaths, and finally knocked on the door gently.
“Dongdongdong——”
No one answered, so Cen Nian increased the strength in his hands, and the knock on the door became a little deeper than before.
Suddenly, a strong wind blew, the door suddenly opened, and Jin Siyang appeared in front of her wearing a black T-shirt and black sports shorts.
He had just finished taking a shower, his forehead was still slightly wet, and a fresh fragrance lingered around his body, continuously coming towards her.
Cen Nian opened her lips slightly, she looked into Jin Siyang's eyes and forgot to move for a moment. He had a pair of beautiful eyes, a shallow wrinkle on his eyelids, and narrow eyes. His beautiful and deep pupils looked a little cold when he looked at people, making people afraid to approach him.
The door frame separated the two people, and the air was unusually silent.
"Is there something?" Jin Siyang spoke first.
Cen Nian came back to her senses, blinked, and pointed at her phone stiffly: "This has been repaired, the photos and videos inside are still there, thank you Jin Siyang."
"That's it?"
Cen Nian nodded: "Well, I just wanted to thank you."
Jin Siyang: "Thank you now, are you okay?"
"No, it's okay."
Cen Nian gave him a polite and well-behaved smile, and the next second, Jin Siyang closed the door.
She blinked at the closed door. At least she thanked him in person, which was good.
Cen Nian returned to the room with a smile on her lips that she herself didn't even notice. She put her cell phone on the table, took out the test paper from her schoolbag, and wrote down the questions one by one.
The clock pointed to twelve o'clock, and Cen Nian was still writing.
Cen Nian has been coming to school early and coming back late recently. She sits in her seat to study as soon as the get out of class is over. Zhu Zhiyao wanted to find her to buy some sweet drinks several times, but seeing how hard she was trying, the words stopped at her lips.
The bell rang and everyone in the class left. Qin Zhouyan walked over to Jin Siyang's desk and tapped his desk with his index finger. "Buy some drinks."
Jin Siyang stood up and followed him.
Zhu Zhiyao and Tong Yue went to the canteen together. Before leaving, they left a message: "Come on, Xiao Niannian. I'll buy you some juice later."
Cen Nian rested his pen on his chin, staring blankly at the questions on the test paper. Song Ze looked around sleepily: "No way, you're still studying, can't you take a break?"
Cen Nian shook her head firmly. She suddenly raised her head and looked at Song Ze as if she had seen a savior: "Song Ze, can I ask you a question?"
Song Ze was horrified: "Ask me? I may not know, but I can try."
Cen Nian smiled and handed over the physics paper: "That's it, I don't really understand it."
Song Ze glanced at it casually: "This question is very simple, how could you not understand it?"
"I really don't know."
Song Ze looked a bit puzzled, but seeing her sincerity, he picked up a pen and wrote down the entire process in detail for Cen Nian: "Just use this formula. Next time you encounter this kind of problem, you can try this formula. No matter how you change it, the basic principle remains the same."
Song Ze usually looks carefree and likes to joke around, but he is extremely serious when solving problems. He explains in great detail, and Cen Nian, who was originally confused, instantly understands and smiles: "Thank you, Song Ze, I understand!"
Song Ze paused for two seconds, his voice softer than before: "I understand, you're smiling so...happy."
"I understand! Thank you!"
Qin Zhouyan put his arm around Jin Siyang's shoulders as he walked into the room, his mouth never stopping: "I'm telling you about yesterday's game, it really pissed me off..."
His eyes fell on Cen Nian and Song Ze, and his voice suddenly changed its tone: "Hey, look, she seems to have a good relationship with our classmates. In just a few days, she has become close friends with Zhu Zhiyao, Tong Yue, Song Ze and the others."
Jin Siyang glanced at him casually: "What does it have to do with me?"
Qin Zhouyan curled her lips. "Isn't this quite novel? You don't know about our class. Everyone is arrogant and hard to get along with. She made a few good friends right after she arrived. She seems like a nice person, but I feel like she's particularly afraid of you. What do you think?"
"Are you done?" Jin Siyang asked coldly, "Go back to your seat after you're done."
Qin Zhouyan wasn't annoyed. He had said this many times today, and now he feigned dissatisfaction and muttered, "Cold-blooded and heartless!"
*
Two weeks passed in a flash. Cen Nian was still memorizing knowledge points before going to the exam room. Zhu Zhiyao gave her an encouraging smile: "Keep going, Nian Nian."
"The same to you!"
The bell rang, and Cen Nian got the Chinese test paper. She took a few deep breaths and started writing seriously.
When she put the last period of the composition, there were still five minutes left. Cen Nian did not dare to relax at all. She checked the multiple-choice questions and ancient poems, and after confirming that they were correct, the exam ended.
For the next two days, she reviewed as usual. When the bell rang for the final exam, cheers filled the teaching building: "Finally, the exams are over. Time for vacation!"
"yeah!"
Zhu Zhiyao stood at the back door of the classroom and pinched Cen Nian's face. "How is it?"
Cen Nian pursed her lips: "I tried my best."
"That's great! Stop thinking about it, let's go shopping after school, shall we?"
Today is Friday. You don’t need to attend evening self-study after the exam. You can leave school after school in the afternoon.
Cen Nian was a little moved when he heard this: "Okay."
