Chapter 25 Can You Teach Me?
Liu Chao came in with a stack of math papers. His footsteps were not heavy, but when he came in, everyone looked up at him.
He asked the class representative to pass out the papers, then took a pen and wrote a question on the whiteboard. After finishing neatly, he looked around and said leisurely, "Please stop writing. I'll take twenty minutes. Take out a piece of white paper and solve this problem. After twenty minutes, the class representative will collect them all."
Liu Chao replaced the pen cap and fixed his gaze on a spot in the first group. "Twenty minutes should be enough, right? What do you think, Cen Nian?"
With a swish, everyone's eyes turned to Cen Nian. She clenched the pen in her hand and said under the sound of her violent heartbeat: "I..."
Liu Chao is a man of ability. He is the head of the mathematics group and is very strict with his students. He has been teaching key classes for many years. When he got the results, he doubted his teaching for the first time.
After a brief burst of laughter, everyone took out their scratch paper and started working on the questions.
Cen Nian was a little embarrassed, but her math grades were really terrible, and it felt like all the embarrassing things happened today.
She was a little hesitant and carefully tore off a piece of scratch paper to start doing the questions.
Jin Siyang took a quick look and quickly started writing. He was concentrating on writing. Within five minutes, he put the draft paper aside and started working on the test paper in his hand.
Cen Nian next to her was still racking her brains. She was stuck in the middle part. According to her current level, it was not easy to solve the middle part, but the math teacher had just called on her specifically. If she didn't do well now, the teacher would probably have an even worse impression of her.
Thinking of this, she became a little anxious.
The class representative stood up and said, "There are only five minutes left, hurry up!"
The countdown is like Cen Nian’s death warrant.
She looked at the steps on the draft paper, with no idea in her mind. Thinking of the embarrassing situation just now, her nose suddenly felt sore and her eyes turned a little red because of the reaction of her nose.
But she didn't cry, and she wouldn't cry in front of so many people.
It was just that when she was rummaging through the drawers to get some tissue paper, she accidentally bumped into Jin Siyang's arm. Cen Nian was so scared that she whispered an apology: "I'm sorry."
Her voice sounded choked, as if she was about to cry.
Jin Siyang suddenly stopped writing and leaned back slightly. He lowered his eyes and stared at Cen Nian's movements.
After two seconds, Jin Siyang tapped Cen Nian's desk with his fingers: "Not writing?"
"What?"
Jin Siyang's patience seemed to be exhausted: "Are you planning to hand it in like this?"
Cen Nian murmured, "I can't write."
She quietly raised her eyes to look at Jin Siyang, and after two seconds of silence, she suddenly said, "Can you teach me?"
"Where is it stuck?"
Cen Nian pointed and said, "I don't quite understand from this point on."
Jin Siyang chose a simple solution and spoke in a low voice. Except for the people at the tables in front and behind him, almost no one noticed what they were saying.
The people at the tables in front and behind him didn't really hear it. After Jin Siyang spoke for two or three minutes, he asked, "Do you understand?"
"I understand, I understand!" Cen Nian really felt like he had suddenly seen the light.
"You're not crying now?"
Cen Nian paused as she took back the test paper. She had no intention of crying, but she didn't dare to refute Jin Siyang, so she could only shake her head slightly.
Twenty minutes later, the class representatives gathered together and the bell rang. The whispers gradually became louder.
Cen Nian moved his body and asked in a low voice: "Jin Siyang, you helped me again."
He didn't say anything, so Cen Nian asked again, "How can I thank you?"
He threw the finished paper into the drawer and said, "How do you thank me?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Jin Siyang began to think seriously. Cen Nian blinked her eyes and waited quietly for his answer.
"Just be thankful if you don't make mistakes on the simple questions we've taught you."
He always spoke in a cold tone.
Simple question.
Cen Nian's mouth twitched, and he laughed: "Don't worry, I won't. I will definitely remember what you taught me."
Jin Siyang put the papers he hadn't done into his schoolbag. After evening self-study, he would usually play a game of ball with Qin Zhouyan and the others before going home. It was still early, so Cen Nian would stay in the classroom to study until the lights went out.
After Jin Siyang left his seat, Song Ze, carrying his schoolbag, walked from Group 4 to the back door of the classroom. He took two steps back as soon as he walked out: "Cen Nian, are you okay?"
Cen Nian turned his head in confusion: "What's wrong with me?"
Song Ze smiled. He was a typical sunny boy, and his smile was very energetic. "That's fine. Old Liu is just like that. Don't mind it. I was often criticized before."
Cen Nian waved his hand: "Don't worry, I'm fine."
"I just saw you talking to Jin Siyang. How come you two suddenly became so close?" Song Ze asked in a slightly gossipy tone.
"What?" Cen Nian hurriedly explained. She couldn't let others misunderstand the relationship between her and Jin Siyang. What if Jin Siyang was unhappy? "I just asked him a math problem."
Song Ze nodded: "Okay then, do you think what I said is better or what he said is better?"
Cen Nian was suddenly speechless and looked at him as if he were a fool: "Well... well, Jin Siyang is first, so..."
"Stop!" Song Ze crossed his arms over his chest: "You little heartless boy, you've forgotten your old love when you've found a new one."
"??? You can't use that word like that!"
As they were arguing, they caught a glimpse of a figure in their peripheral vision. The person who was originally on the court suddenly appeared at the back door of the classroom and looked at Cen Nian and Song Ze.
Jin Siyang stood at the last table in the first group, his bag slung over one shoulder, expressionless: "Excuse me, I need to get something."
Song Ze looked at his own position. He was standing next to Jin Siyang's seat, blocking the way. He laughed twice: "Sorry!"
He made room for her and gestured goodbye to Cen Nian: "See you tomorrow."
After everyone left, Jin Siyang pulled out a chair and leaned over to look for something in the drawer.
Cen Nian asked curiously, "Did you forget to bring anything?"
"Um."
"Then let me help you find it. Is this the test paper?" Cen Nian squatted on the ground and diligently searched for the test paper for him. Her eyes were level with the drawer, and finally she found a blank physics competition paper. "Is this it?"
She looked up at him with a smile on her face.
Jin Siyang's eyes fell on her smiling face. She had a small dimple on both sides, which was most obvious when she smiled.
"Thanks."
"No, no need."
After Jin Siyang left, Cen Nian came back to her senses. Her legs were numb when she stood up again after squatting for a long time. She sat down and moved her legs to slow down.
His desk and drawers were very tidy. There were quite a few textbooks, exercise books and test papers from the attached middle school, but he kept them very neatly organized.
Cen Nian looked at her slightly messy desk, feeling a little embarrassed. Not knowing what stimulated her, she began to tidy up the desk and drawers. She didn't smile until her desk was as tidy as Jin Siyang's.
The lights in the gymnasium were on and there were still quite a few people there at this hour. The first and second year high school students had one less evening study session than the third year high school students, so they would use this time to play basketball in the gymnasium.
The affiliated middle school does not strictly manage this aspect, and even extends the lights in the gymnasium by 40 minutes to help students exercise.
When Jin Siyang returned to the gymnasium, Qin Zhouyan and the others had already started. Among the group of familiar figures, there was a strange yet familiar shadow. Jin Siyang frowned, and his expression did not change.
Qin Zhouyan saw him coming and raised his chin towards him: "Si Yang, you're here. This is Song Ze from our class. He's also quite good at playing basketball."
Song Ze smiled modestly but not modestly: "It's just so-so."
