Chapter 347 A Warm Feeling
"Damn it, why is it happening again...you crazy woman!"
Qin Mo roared inwardly, he was furious, he was so angry, but his tears flowed uncontrollably, mingling with the cold white seawater around him.
He pulled Heather into the water, and the tear pendant Shia had given him gave him an affinity with the water. He quickly used the power of the water to escape.
Enraged, Arthas hurled his azure greatsword, smashing through the ice and hurtling towards Qin Mo. Left with no choice, Qin Mo released Heather, turned, and raised her double-bladed battle axe to her chest, unleashing her full power, starlight, and white flames to meet Arthas's furious attack.
The azure greatsword came with momentum, crashing into Qin Mo's three-layered defensive shield. It slowed down slightly before making contact with Qin Mo's double-edged battle axe.
Just as Qin Mo was about to grit her teeth and endure it, a figure flashed in front of her and crashed into the azure giant sword.
"Bang!"
The greatsword was deflected and grazed past Qin Mo, but the immense force slammed the figure directly into Qin Mo's arms.
Heatherine coughed up several mouthfuls of blood, her right arm was bent strangely, and her right shoulder collapsed completely.
Qin Mo quickly scooped her up, held her in his arms, and sped away while checking her injuries.
The more Qin Mo examined the body, the colder his heart became. Saint Heatherine's right side was completely paralyzed, like a limp person without bones.
With trembling hands, she reached out her left hand and grasped Qin Mo's hand with difficulty, gently squeezing it. She gave Qin Mo a familiar look, "Don't worry... I've got everything covered!"
"Hold on... hold on, we'll go up if we go a little further..." Qin Mo wondered if Heather could understand the look in her eyes.
But Heatherine's hands grew weaker and weaker, and Qin Mo could feel her life force rapidly slipping away.
"Oh my god, we're underwater, she can't breathe..."
Qin Mo slapped herself hard, then reached out and wiped Hazel's face, where a mask was clearly visible beneath the wet veil.
Heatherine's dull, lifeless eyes suddenly widened in terror, as if she had encountered a fatal danger. But at this moment, she was completely powerless, and she could only endure whatever Qin Mo did to her, unable to resist in the slightest.
A once-perfect, now ugly face was revealed to Qin Mo, causing his eyes to narrow sharply. Heather closed her eyes in anguish, and two tears silently mingled with the seawater.
She suddenly felt a sharp pain in her heart.
A soft sensation sealed Heatherine's lips, and then a rush of air filled her lungs, making her gasp for breath again.
She struggled to open her eyes and saw a clear gaze right in front of her, devoid of any contempt or mockery, only a warm and gentle smile.
She felt a sense of relief and finally fainted.
Heatherine vaguely felt herself surrounded by warmth, a feeling similar to that of being in her mother's arms when she was a child. Although her body was gradually becoming numb, she still felt that this feeling was the greatest happiness of her life.
She noticed the changes in her body; the Holy Spirit power gathered within her began to dissipate, and the hidden injuries left from years of battle began to recur. She knew that she, the only controller of light in the world... was about to fall into darkness.
As the light was about to completely fade away, that soft feeling pressed against her lips again. She remembered... that clear gaze. She suddenly felt that the so-called "the best outcome for a soldier is to die on the battlefield" was pure nonsense. To die in someone's arms was the only regretless ending.
A drop of liquid flowed from between her soft lips into her body. Heatherine felt a mixture of shame and anger, but she was already on her deathbed, and it was impossible for her to object or be angry. "Wait for the next life! I'll definitely settle the score with him in the next life!"
As the drop of liquid entered Heather's body, a life force as powerful as a raging sea rapidly spread throughout her body, relentlessly washing over her and clearing away her new and hidden injuries. Her bones began to reassemble, and her skin began to shed and regenerate. The intense pain that all of this brought shocked her beyond belief.
"Am I going to hell? Why is it so... painful!" Before losing consciousness, Heather only remembered one feeling—pain.
In her drowsy state, she sometimes felt someone carrying her on their back, and sometimes she felt someone holding her as she fell asleep. No matter when, she felt warm and happy.
When Heatherine regained consciousness, she felt herself being fed, warm liquid flowing down her throat into her stomach, making her feel warm and cozy.
Heatherine didn't wake up immediately. She was extremely nervous. Her mask had been removed, which meant her face was now exposed to others, along with her secret...
Just as she was anxiously agonizing over how to face this awkward situation, she heard that familiar voice muttering to itself intermittently.
"This Fountain of Life is truly miraculous; it can erase any kind of scar..."
"We've suffered a huge loss this time. How should we make her compensate us?..."
"She's actually quite good-looking. Should she still wear that lousy mask?... Oh well... let's put it on her!"
Heather felt a pair of warm, gentle hands gently put the mask back on her, covering her face with a veil. Then, a rustling sound rang out, and the person quietly left.
