Once she was sure Qin Mo was out of sight, Heatherine immediately sat up.
She was clearly in Qin Mo's small tent, which she considered a luxury item. Her white gauze robe was placed next to her sleeping bag, while she herself was lying in her sleeping bag, Qin Mo's sleeping bag, wearing only her undergarments.
"Was I just sleeping in a sleeping bag in my dream?" Heather recalled the warm shoulder and back, the cozy embrace when she was half asleep, and a strange emotion welled up inside her.
Heather sat there blankly for a long time, staring at her hands. The skin on her hands was noticeably different from before; it had become more delicate and fair, and it seemed as if a layer of light was flowing through her skin.
Heather finally mustered enough courage to reach out and remove the mask she had worn for over a decade, and 'touch' her own face.
Two strings of tears uncontrollably slid down her face, where there were no scars left, only soft and smooth skin to the touch.
“
Cough cough cough! It's dawn again, time to set off!
Qin Mo's languid voice rang out from outside, and after lingering for a while, she finally lifted the tent flap and slipped inside.
"Oh! Heatherine, you're awake! That's wonderful... By the gods, I've prayed to the temple gods so many times, and it actually came true..."
Heatherine was instantly annoyed when she saw the perfectly natural expression of joy on Qin Mo's face. Did he think he could fool her senses like that? He certainly didn't know about the abnormal perception of the Light Controller.
"He must have realized he was awake just now, which is why he deliberately said those strange things and then deliberately walked out..." Heather's anger slowly turned into embarrassment and annoyance. When she remembered Qin Mo muttering about wanting some kind of compensation, her entire neck suddenly turned pink for some reason.
Qin Mo's single tent was small, and it was naturally cramped for two people to squeeze inside. Heatherine wasn't wearing her full-length gauze robe, and her reaction was immediately noticed by Qin Mo.
"Cough cough cough! You change your clothes first, we still have a long way to go!" Qin Mo turned around and walked out, waiting for Heatherine to get dressed.
Half a day later, Heatherine still hadn't come out, so Qin Mo had to urge her, "Heatherine, are you done yet?"
Inside the tent, Heatherine said with a troubled expression, "I can only move my upper body, my lower body is immobile..."
"What?"
Qin Mo quickly squeezed back into the tent and saw that Heatherine had already put on the white gauze robe, but she was sitting on the ground and did not get up.
Qin Mo's forehead began to sweat. He tried pinching Heather's calf with his fingers and asked, "Can you feel it? Does it hurt?"
Heatherine nodded and said, "I can feel it, it hurts!"
Qin Mo pinched other parts of her body, and Heatherine answered without exception, "I can feel it, it hurts!"
Qin Mo breathed a sigh of relief and said, "It's probably not fully recovered yet. I've seen this before. It's nothing to worry about; it will recover in a few months."
Qin Mo deftly began packing her things, bundling everything into a small bag and hanging it around her neck. Then she folded the tent and tied it around her waist before finally looking at Heatherine.
Heather looked at him quietly, saying nothing, waiting for his next move.
Qin Mo smiled, then pulled her onto his back, draped an extra layer of fur over her, and tied the two of them together securely with a small rope.
In the dense forest, a bulky figure moved swiftly, carefully avoiding one tribe and settlement after another, his lithe figure drifting away into the distance.
"That's the feeling... I remember..."
Heather nestled against his back, the warm feeling enveloping her and helping her relax, drifting off to sleep. Want to chat about "Sailing and Conquest" with more like-minded people? Follow "Or" on WeChat to discuss your favorite books with other book lovers.
