The day after Yu Chiyan was discharged from the hospital, he took Su Yaoyao back to the old house.
Madam Yu instructed the servants to prepare the meal early in the morning.
As soon as Su Yaoyao and Yu Chiyan's car arrived at the door, Old Madam Yu went to greet them.
"Oh my, Yaoyao, how come you've lost so much weight?"
As soon as Su Yaoyao got out of the passenger seat, she was stopped and looked up and down by Old Madam Yu.
"Maybe he misses his grandma!"
Seeing the heartache on the old man's face, Su Yaoyao smiled and teased him.
"You silly child, if you really miss your grandma, you should come to see her more often. How can you starve yourself to the point of being thin?"
Su Yaoyao helped the old lady Yu walk towards the dining room; "Oh, don't worry, if you get thin from hunger, just come to Grandma. Every time I came, Grandma would prepare my favorite dishes for me."
The old lady was amused by her and laughed heartily; "Haha, you have such a sweet tongue."
After saying that, she patted Su Yaoyao's hand again, her tone full of affection.
"Come on, let's go eat. Grandma has had someone prepare lots of your favorite dishes for you."
"I knew Grandma was the best to me."
Yu Chiyan followed behind, carrying a large bag in each hand.
"..."
Does nobody care about him?
He was carrying gifts in both hands, but Madam Yu didn't even glance at him, her mind was entirely focused on Su Yaoyao.
And Su Yaoyao, that woman, only cared about chatting with her grandmother as soon as she returned to the old house, completely ignoring her husband.
Aunt Zhang, who was standing nearby, was the first to notice Yu Chiyan's increasingly dark expression. When she saw what he was carrying, she quickly reached out and took it from him.
"Young Master even brought a gift for the old lady. How thoughtful of him."
The grandfather and grandson stopped talking abruptly and turned to look at Yu Chiyan.
Yu Chiyan coughed lightly and spoke slowly under the gazes of the two.
"These are health supplements that I had someone send back from abroad."
Su Yaoyao then looked at Madam Yu and said, "By the way, Grandma, I looked this up online. It's very good for your health. Remember to ask Aunt Zhang to brew you a pot of it every day."
Madam Yu's face immediately broke into a wide smile; "It's Yaoyao who's so thoughtful."
The seemingly heartless Yu Chiyan felt a sudden heart attack.
At the dinner table.
After serving food to Su Yaoyao, Madam Yu turned to look at her grandson.
"If you ever dare to wrong our Yaoyao again, I'll kick you out."
Yu Chiyan; "..."
Yu Chiyan tightened his grip on the chopsticks, looked up, and said with a hint of helplessness in his voice.
"Grandma, I am your grandson."
Upon hearing this, Madam Yu scoffed disdainfully, "Hmph, I think you're the one who's drawing attention."
Upon hearing this, Su Yaoyao nearly spat out her mouthful of rice and looked at Old Madam Yu with a surprised expression.
"Grandma, I didn't know you were such a surfing expert. You even know about eye-catching bags."
The old lady raised her head proudly; "That's right, Grandma knows a lot."
Su Yaoyao gave Old Madam Yu a thumbs up, while Yu Chiyan looked completely bewildered.
He frowned slightly, his tone puzzled; "What do you mean by 'conspicuous bag'?"
Su Yaoyao lowered her head and ate her rice; "A conspicuous bag means something that attracts a lot of attention."
Yu Chiyan's expression softened; it turned out his grandmother was praising him.
Seeing Yu Chiyan's expression, Su Yaoyao couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy in her eyes.
Su Yaoyao, whose conscience had not completely disappeared, began to speak well of Yu Chiyan.
“Grandma, you don’t need to worry about me and Yu Chiyan. Sometimes when we have conflicts, it’s not always because of Yu Chiyan. I’m also partly willful. Yu Chiyan… he’s actually very good to me.”
Su Yaoyao blushed slightly as she said this.
Everyone present could tell at a glance how sincere she was in her words.
A hint of satisfaction flashed in Madam Yu's eyes, but she pretended not to believe it and even glared at Yu Chiyan.
"Just protect him. If he really treated you well, why can't he win your heart and get you two married as soon as possible?"
Upon hearing this, Yu Chiyan's gaze deepened slightly.
It turned out that Grandma was waiting for them there.
Unexpectedly, Madam Yu would say such a thing, and Su Yaoyao was so frightened that she quickly waved her hands.
"No, no, no...it's not like that, Grandma. Yu Chiyan has already done enough. I...my heart..."
Su Yaoyao blushed slightly. Seeing that Yu Chiyan and the old lady were staring at her expectantly, she lowered her head and replied with her red earlobes.
"Haven't my heart already belonged to Yu Chiyan?"
The old lady was taken aback at first, then slapped her thigh, her face showing immense joy.
"Haha, okay, since you've said so, Yaoyao, why don't you and Chi Yan go to the Civil Affairs Bureau tomorrow to get your marriage certificate? We can start preparing for the wedding the day after that!"
Not only was Su Yaoyao shocked, but even Yu Chiyan frowned.
"Grandma, isn't the time too rushed?"
Madam Yu looked at him disapprovingly; "What's the rush? Don't you want to marry Yaoyao sooner?"
Yu Chiyan naturally thought about it, so he stopped talking and looked at Su Yaoyao with a questioning gaze.
Su Yaoyao bit her lip, a little nervous; "Isn't this...too rushed?"
She was afraid that if the wedding preparations were too rushed, there wouldn't be enough time.
Upon hearing this, Madam Yu waved her hand dismissively.
"You're overthinking it, Yaoyao. Our Yu family is only having half a wedding. Let alone two days, we can prepare something beautiful even if we only have one day."
Fearing that Su Yaoyao might be worried, she spoke again.
"By the way, I've checked the dates for the past two days, and they're auspicious!"
