Hearing Su Yaoyao's words, the aunt looked somewhat reluctant; "Miss Su, please don't be like this, the young master... he was just temporarily blinded by someone."
Su Yaoyao gave a mocking smile; "Is that so?"
"It must be like that, Miss Su. I believe the gentleman will understand once he has thought it through."
It's rare that even in Yu Chiyan's condition, her aunt is still speaking up for her.
"Miss Su, let me help you upstairs to rest for a while. Don't think about too much right now, just take good care of yourself."
Su Yaoyao gently stroked her flat stomach with her right hand.
Yes, what she needs to do now is take good care of her body and make sure nothing goes wrong with the baby in her womb.
...
Old house.
Madam Yu sat on the sofa, with Se Se sitting next to her.
She was wearing a light yellow fluffy coat over a white turtleneck sweater.
She looked extremely well-behaved.
The old lady held her hand, her tone loving.
"This old woman of mine has been living alone in the house for a long time and is so bored. Luckily, I have you, my little girl, to keep me company."
Sese smiled shyly. "I also have to thank Grandma. You and Brother Chi Yan are so good to me, making me feel the warmth of home again."
A cryptic glint flashed in Madam Yu's eyes. "Silly girl, Chi Yan treats you like his own sister. If I, this old woman, didn't treat you like my own granddaughter, that boy would probably be angry with me!"
As soon as Madam Yu said this, Se Se's eyes changed noticeably, though only for a moment, but Madam Yu still caught it.
She gently patted Sese's hand and said, "I really like you, girl. I'm extremely happy to have another granddaughter."
Sese could no longer maintain her composure; the rosy glow on her face faded, leaving her looking somewhat pale.
"Grandma...Grandma, I'm not feeling well, I'd like to go upstairs and rest for a while."
Madam Yu's expression changed; "What's wrong, Se Se? Are you feeling unwell? Should I call a doctor to take a look at you?"
Sese forced a smile; "No need, Grandma. I probably didn't sleep well last night. I'll go upstairs and sleep for a while."
When Madam Yu heard her say that, she didn't say anything more and told A-Luan to take her back to her room to rest.
"Grandma, I'll go upstairs now."
Madam Yu nodded; "Alright."
After Sese left, Aunt Zhang appeared out of nowhere. Seeing that Old Madam Yu was staring at Sese's back, she hesitated for a moment before asking a question.
"Madam, what do you think of Miss Serser?"
Madam Yu took the calming tea that Aunt Zhang handed her, took a sip, and then looked away.
A shrewd glint flashed in her cloudy eyes as she looked at Aunt Zhang and calmly replied.
"This Se Se is no simple character, but..."
Seeing the reaction of the old lady Yu, Aunt Zhang knew that she didn't like Sese very much and had thought of a way to deal with her.
She couldn't help but become interested and leaned down to whisper in the old lady's ear.
"Madam, what do you intend to do?"
The old lady smiled so much that her face was covered in wrinkles; "In another month, my seventy-fifth birthday banquet will be here."
After saying this, she leisurely took another sip of tea, the white steam rising onto her face, making the old lady's face look rather mysterious and unpredictable.
“Sese lives in the old house, and her identity is unclear, so she inevitably attracts criticism and makes a fool of herself.”
Upon hearing this, Aunt Zhang immediately understood what was going on, and she looked at the old lady with a surprised expression.
"Is Madam planning to grant Miss Sese a formal status?"
The old lady nodded knowingly, but she didn't say what her identity was.
Aunt Zhang wisely refrained from asking.
...
For two weeks in a row, Yu Chiyan's daily routine consisted of going to and from get off work on time, then visiting Se Se at the old house, and not returning until late at night. Every day was the same, without fail.
Su Yaoyao was similar, going to and from get off work on time. The only difference was that Yu Chiyan no longer came to pick her up, and Su Yaoyao took a taxi home by herself every day.
She and Yu Chiyan hadn't seen each other much in the past two weeks. By the time Yu Chiyan came home late at night, she was already asleep, and when she woke up in the morning, Yu Chiyan had already left early.
Su Yaoyao got off work earlier than usual today.
These past two days, her aunt has been making her soups and delicious meals in different ways, and she has visibly gained a little weight. She no longer looks like the pitiful woman who could be blown away by the wind.
Having almost finished the medication she received at the hospital, Su Yaoyao plans to go for a follow-up check-up in a couple of days to put her mind at ease.
She took out the last pill, drank it with warm water, and then casually threw the pillbox into the trash bag.
The aunt had already set out the food and was inviting Su Yaoyao to eat.
"Miss Su, dinner is ready. Come and eat."
Su Yaoyao sat down at the dining table, looked at the delicious food on the table, and then glanced at the empty seat opposite her, feeling a mix of emotions.
"Auntie, please sit down and eat with us."
The nanny hurriedly waved her hand in refusal; "This...this won't do. How can a nanny eat at the same table as the employer? I'll eat in the kitchen later."
Su Yaoyao frowned slightly; "Auntie, please eat with me from now on. I don't have an appetite when I eat alone. Please take pity on me and eat with me."
"Miss Su, please don't say that. I... I'll sit down and eat with you, okay?"
Su Yaoyao smiled with satisfaction when she saw that her aunt had finally agreed to sit down for dinner.
