Chapter 412 Unforgettable

Chen Ke took a deep breath, trying to make himself look more natural.

He walked up to Li Susu and said gently, "Arno, we've gotten along very well these past three years, haven't we?"

His eyes held a hint of expectation and a hint of trepidation.

"I have always..."

He was about to say the words that had been buried in his heart for so long when Li Susu interrupted him without any mercy.

“Chen Ke,” Li Susu’s voice was calm, but with a hint of estrangement, “I’ve always considered you a good friend.”

She paused, then continued, "I will never forget your life-saving grace, and I will definitely repay you."

“But,” her tone became firm, “I hope that we can still be friends, just like before.”

Chen Ke clenched his fists, his knuckles turning white, and the veins on the back of his hands bulging.

He regretted it.

I regret letting Li Susu return to China.

If she hadn't come back, she wouldn't have met Fu Xingzhou, and she wouldn't be so indifferent to him now.

"Arno..." He opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but was interrupted again by Li Susu.

"Chen Ke, I have other things to do at the company, so I really can't relax here any longer."

Li Susu spoke calmly, as if she were simply stating a fact.

She stood up and straightened the slightly wrinkled hem of her skirt.

"I have to go now."

She glanced at Chen Ke indifferently, without the slightest hint of lingering affection in her eyes.

"You...you should go back first."

After Li Susu finished speaking, she walked towards the door.

Chen Ke stood there blankly, watching her back, a sense of powerlessness welling up inside him.

He watched helplessly as Li Susu walked to the door and opened it.

Li Susu turned around and glanced at Yu Xin, who was still sitting on the sofa.

"Ms. Yu, I'll be going now. Let's talk again another time."

Yu Xin was clearly surprised. She put down her teacup and said with a hint of regret, "Are you leaving already? Won't you stay a little longer?"

Li Susu shook her head.

"No, I have things to take care of at the company."

She smiled slightly, her tone gentle yet firm.

"Next time, there will definitely be another chance."

After she finished speaking, she turned and left the room.

Yu Xin watched Li Susu's departing figure and thoughtfully stroked her chin.

Li Susu went to the dressing room and changed back into the clothes she had come in.

She tidied herself up in front of the mirror, making sure she looked impeccable.

Then, she took a deep breath, pushed open the dressing room door, and left the private club without looking back.

Chen Ke stood at the door and did not leave.

He took a deep breath, trying to calm the turmoil in his heart.

When Li Susu came out, he had returned to normal, with his usual gentle smile on his face.

"Arno, let me take you back to the company."

Li Susu hesitated for a moment.

She didn't actually want to have too much contact with Chen Ke.

But the words of refusal stuck in my throat.

After all, Chen Ke did nothing wrong.

"Then I'll have to trouble you."

She eventually agreed.

Chen Ke immediately stepped forward and gentlemanly opened the car door for her.

Li Susu got into the car, and Chen Ke walked around the front of the car and got into the driver's seat.

The car drove smoothly on the road.

The atmosphere inside the carriage was somewhat somber.

Li Susu gazed at the scenery rushing past the window, her thoughts swirling.

Suddenly, my phone vibrated.

It was a text message from an unknown number.

"Expert consultation at 5 p.m."

Finally, expert location information was also provided.

Li Susu's heart skipped a beat.

She guessed almost immediately who sent the text message.

There could be no one else but Fu Xingzhou.

He did make the arrangements as expected.

She quietly locked her phone and put it back in her bag.

Just then, Chen Ke glanced at her in the rearview mirror.

"What's wrong? Any news?"

Li Susu smiled, feigning nonchalance.

"It's nothing, just spam."
