This sea fish looks to weigh seven or eight pounds, so the price could go up a bit more; it's a great start to the year.
The two of them worked together to get the fish into the tank, filled it with seawater, and made sure it stayed alive.
After settling the old man in, the two returned to the pond and began to feel around along the edge.
Upon seeing the goods, Ye Cheng decisively activated his burst skill; it was already late, and it would be a waste not to use it soon.
With one scoop, Ye Cheng pulled out two more sea cucumbers, each almost as thick as an arm. Looking at these dark, high-quality goods, Ye Cheng was immediately excited.
"Little Tiger, put on your headlamp. There are sea cucumbers down there. Wait until the water clears before going down to collect them."
The two stood in the water, and when the water became less murky, they turned on their headlamps and began searching underwater using the strong light.
"I have one here." Xiao Hu carefully reached down and pulled one out of the water. It was smaller than Ye Cheng's. He was used to this pattern. Anyway, when they were both beachcombing, everything he found was always a size smaller than Ye Cheng's.
Soon, Ye Cheng also saw the two little babies moving slightly below.
We brought them up, and they were indeed adorable baby sea cucumbers, plump and chubby.
After finishing with the two sea cucumbers, Ye Cheng noticed something moving in the muddy water of the pool, and he instinctively touched it with his foot.
Sure enough, the creature immediately shrank inside—a crab.
Ye Cheng is now very skilled at handling crabs; he can hold them down and lift them up in no time.
A rather large blue crab. Well, young man, you know what I'm doing; you know I need money right now.
After groping around in the pool for a while, the two managed to pull up more than a dozen sea cucumbers. When they couldn't find anything else, they came out.
There are definitely still items inside, but without a water pump, it would be really difficult to find them all one by one.
In a pond, I caught a boar, a blue crab, and twenty sea cucumbers. That's a pretty good haul.
The two stepped onto the rocks and headed towards another pool.
After taking only two steps, Ye Cheng saw a huge conch shell crawling on the reef. It was grayish-white with long, sharp spines on its shell, but it was useless. Ye Cheng picked it up.
"Brother, a spider snail!" Little Tiger said with a hint of surprise.
Spider snails are quite large, with delicious meat, comparable to conch, and naturally, they are not cheap either.
Ye Cheng happily put it into the bucket.
"Keep looking, maybe there are still some."
Sure enough, the two of them crouched down along the bottom edge of the reef and searched, and actually found two more, much bigger than their fists.
After storing the valuables, the two headed towards the next pool of water.
This pool is about the same depth as the previous one, and even a bit bigger.
The goods are definitely in stock, but they're so big they're a bit hard to catch.
The two slid down to the edge, and sure enough, the seawater reached right up to their knees.
As soon as they went down, the seafood inside stirred, and two dark figures flew over in a flash.
Damn, so arrogant, do you think the net I have is useless?
The results proved...
The net is a bit small at this point...
Finally, the two had no choice but to use the most primitive yet most flexible tool—humans.
The two men, wearing headlamps, dived into the water and, half-lying down, pulled the two guys up.
Two very beautifully colored parrotfish.
Parrotfish are also called parrot-beaked fish because their mouths resemble the beaks of parrots. They are also carnivorous, and eating sea urchins raw and breaking corals are their specialties. Ye Cheng almost got bitten when he caught one.
These two fish were a bit smaller than the bluefin tuna, weighing about four or five pounds. The parrotfish were much cheaper than the bluefin tuna, but even a fly is still meat, so Ye Cheng didn't mind.
"Little Tiger, I just saw a crab at the very back. You should also look in there later; there's probably something else."
The crab that Ye Cheng saw was in a crevice in the reef, quite deep inside.
He had to test it with the net first, and then pull it out a little when it bit the net, taking advantage of the moment to reach inside with his right hand.
Ye Cheng was delighted to find a hard-shelled creature and was about to grab it.
I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my hand; I didn't know what had pinched it.
He cried out in pain and pulled his hand back.
"Brother, what's wrong?" Xiao Hu asked with concern.
Ye Cheng raised his hand, revealing two rows of teeth marks on his rubber glove.
"Luckily I was wearing gloves. My brother's work gloves are really hard, otherwise I would definitely have bled."
I specifically brought this from my older brother's house last time. There was no other way; Ye Cheng discovered that some things couldn't be compensated for by technology.
Fear is fear.
He can press down to grab crabs from top to bottom, but when you reach into the crevices, it's dark and his hands are bare.
Then forget it.
Xiao Hu pursed his lips. "Brother, you're just being dramatic. What's it to us beach folks afraid of getting pinched by crabs a few times?"
"You can do it!" Ye Cheng blurted out in English.
Xiao Hu looked bewildered and aggrieved. "Brother, why are you speaking English all of a sudden? Are you insulting me?"
"Stop cursing! If you're so capable, you do it yourself."
"I'll go if I want to."
Xiao Hu didn't refuse. He bent down and reached inside, and soon his face twitched. He quickly pulled his hand out and grabbed a crab.
I managed to grab him, but I did it by biting his finger.
“Well, it’s out. Look, your finger is just a little red. What’s there to be afraid of?” Xiao Hu said through gritted teeth, enunciating each word clearly.
Ye Cheng burst out laughing at that expression. "Hey Xiao Hu, if it hurts, just yell. Who are you trying to impress by holding it in?"
Little Tiger rolled his eyes, shook his hands vigorously, and hissed twice, "Brother, there's another one inside. If there weren't two, I definitely wouldn't have been bitten."
"Alright, alright, then, great hero, please continue." Ye Cheng made a gesture as if inviting a hero to his death.
This time, when Xiao Hu reached down, he didn't get pinched. Instead, he reached up and pulled out another blue crab from below.
One male and one female, both good at offense and defense, no wonder they got bitten.
These crabs are a good size; two of them can sell for quite a bit.
After catching the two large shrimp, the two men started catching shrimp in the pond.
There are plenty of shrimp at the bottom of the water. If you use a net and calculate the angle at which they retreat, it's easier to scoop them up than to catch fish.
They were all white shrimp, not very expensive, and not many in quantity.
After scooping for a while, the two of them got too lazy to continue. They had put in a lot of effort to scoop it up, but they hadn't made much money.
After touching two puddles, the two of them were completely soaked. The afternoon sun was about to set, and it was getting a bit chilly.
The two didn't dare to delay any longer and quickly split up to get to work.
Ye Cheng stood on a large reef, which was quite high, and he carefully jumped down.
As soon as he landed, his foot slipped, and he instinctively braced himself against the nearby rock.
Unexpectedly, a sharp pain came from my hand.
Damn it, I got pricked by something.
Ye Cheng turned his head and his pupils contracted sharply.
