Chapter 102 Seagull Island Beachcombing 2

The bucket in Chen Zhiyao's hand was filled with various small seafood such as sea cucumbers, blue crabs, eels, and conch.

The bucket was already overflowing when they arrived, and the grandfather and grandson were beaming with joy, even walking with an air of domineering arrogance.

However, the ocean's bounty is limited. As the tide receded to the very back, the two had thoroughly looted this rocky beach.

Only then did Chen Zhiyao realize that she had been so excited about beachcombing that she had forgotten to pump out the water.

Seeing that the tide hadn't started rising yet, she quickly found a smaller puddle nearby and turned on the pump.

Then, relying on his X-ray vision, he also picked out a small pond where Grandpa Chen could catch some fish.

Because the tide was about to come in, Chen Zhiyao chose two puddles that were relatively high and not very big.

While the water pump worked diligently, the two continued walking and came to another rocky beach.

This is where they used to fish.

However, I don't know if it's because this place is sheltered from the wind, but there's nothing of value here, mostly just scallops and other small, worthless seashells.

Even mosquito legs are meat, and the grandfather and grandson didn't mind at all, quickly picking up all the little guys and putting them into the net bag.

After finding the scallops to dry, Chen Zhiyao even put the scallops she found into another net bag.

Including the ones Grandpa Chen found, the two of them had collected more than 30 pounds of scallops by the end of the morning.

The rocks here are all giant reefs as tall as themselves.

While collecting seashells, Chen Zhiyao also looked at the rocks, but unfortunately, she didn't find any goose barnacles.

There were quite a few oysters, though they were a bit small. Chen Zhiyao casually pried off about 10, intending to keep them for her family.

Meanwhile, the diligent Grandpa Chen worked hard, prying off a large net full of oysters.

It looks like it weighs about 20 pounds.

Chen Zhiyao walked to her usual fishing spot and then turned on her fishing-specific X-ray glasses.

At this moment, she could clearly see many dark clumps underwater.

Some of these dark figures remained silently in the crevices of the rocks, while others moved swiftly.

She could see the location, size, and shape of these shadowy figures, but she couldn't tell what kind of fish they were.

Chen Zhiyao likes catching big fish, and she quite likes this feature, as it allows her to specifically target the largest fish.

And since you can't tell what kind of fish it is, it's even more exciting to fish for it.

Seeing several large dark shapes on the bottom of the water, she decided to come and fish when the tide came in.

After turning off the X-ray glasses, Chen Zhiyao casually asked another question:

"Xiao Meng, as I upgrade this, will these X-ray glasses be able to see what kind of fish are underwater?"

"No, upgrading only increases the range of vision. Level 1 is 10 meters, Level 2 is 20 meters, and Level 3 is 30 meters."

"Alright, this is not bad either."

With the tide about to rise, Grandpa Chen urged his granddaughter to come back:

"Tangtang, the tide is coming in, hurry back to catch fish."

"Okay, I'm coming right now."

When the grandfather and grandson returned, they found that the water in the two small puddles had almost dried up.

Chen Zhiyao, carrying a bucket, was just about to go down into the puddle to catch fish when she heard her grandfather's excited voice from ahead:

"Tangtang, there's something good in this puddle, come and take a picture for me."

When Chen Zhiyao arrived, she saw the old man holding an oversized blue robe weighing about five pounds, his face beaming with joy.

Giant Blue Snapper

"Quick, quick, focus on taking pictures of this fish, make it look bigger!" The old man was as excited as a child.

"Alright, alright, with my photography skills, I guarantee you'll be satisfied."

She had already examined the puddle with her X-ray glasses; besides the large blue wrasse, there were two other rather large bass below it.

With so many big guys, the old man will be happy for quite a while.

Chen Zhiyao quickly took a few photos of the old man, and then hurriedly returned to her own puddle.

If we wait any longer, the tide will come in.

Although her pond didn't have any big fish like the old man's, it still had plenty of good stuff.

As soon as I came down into the puddle, I saw two golden coconut snails, each weighing about a pound.

Coconut snail +2

Chen Zhiyao picked up the two golden eggs and examined them carefully, but unfortunately there were no Melo Pearls inside, not even the irregular ones.

Thinking back to the coconut snails with pearls on them, they were all big guys weighing four or five pounds.

These two are so small, they probably haven't grown yet.

Chen Zhiyao put the two golden eggs into the bucket, and then picked up a trembling little blue crab from a crevice in the rocks.

This little guy isn't very big, probably only about three or four ounces.

Blue Crab +1

Then, she found two swimming crabs weighing about half a pound each in the gap between two rocks.

"These two swimming crabs are quite plump."

However, she soon discovered that the two little ones were acting strangely; it seemed like they were pregnant.

In order to have more swimming crabs in the future, Chen Zhiyao had no choice but to release them back into the wild with a heavy heart.

Before releasing them, she earnestly instructed them: "You must do your best to produce more baby swimming crabs."

Hearing these inhuman words, the two mother crabs ran even faster and quickly burrowed into the deepest part of the crevice to hide.

Although there were no big fish here, Chen Zhiyao caught three dog sharks in a small pit, which weighed about five pounds in total.

In a small pit at the very bottom of the waterhole, there were several red sea bream and a large brood of rock bream.

Although they are all small, they are all expensive fish.

After Chen Zhiyao excitedly caught all the fish in the puddle, she also happily scavenged the surrounding sea snails.

As I emerged from the puddle carrying my bucket, I saw wave after wave of ocean waves in front of me.

high tide

Grandpa Chen was quick and was already cleaning up his catch. Besides the big blue wrasse, there were two bass weighing four or five pounds each.

These were all valuable pieces of stuff, and the old man was overjoyed.

The hardworking grandfather and grandson, like little bees, carried all their catch from beachcombing onto the fishing boat.

Then, he diligently took his fishing rod and went to the spot where he had fished before.

Originally, Chen Zhiyao wanted the old man to rest for a while, but as soon as Grandpa Chen heard that they were going fishing, he immediately perked up.

Although the old man was old, he looked much more energetic than Chen Zhiyao.

Upon arriving at the location, Grandpa Chen immediately went to the spot where he had been fishing and eagerly threw his bait into the sea.

Chen Zhiyao wasn't in a hurry to fish; instead, she calmly turned on her X-ray glasses.

From where the old man stood, several dark figures could be seen in the water below, indicating that there were quite a few fish.

Chen Zhiyao compared the fish to the rocks on the shore and estimated that they weighed about two or three pounds.

It seems the old man chose a very good spot.

She wanted to test the X-ray vision glasses, so she took a fishing rod and walked around the neighborhood.

Finally, a rather large dark figure was found under a boulder.

The shadowy figure was noticeably larger than the one she had seen earlier; she estimated it to weigh at least seven or eight pounds.

Moreover, the dark shape in the water is round and plump, so it shouldn't be a cheap creature like a sea wolf or a tarpon.
