Chapter 360 Beachcombing at Sea 2

After the tide recedes, the island on this side of the beach is far from the mainland, and the surrounding seawater is as clear as a light blue crystal.

It appears exceptionally crystal clear up close, while from a distance it possesses a unique depth and allure.

Add to that the cotton-white clouds in the distance and the jewel-like blue sky, and every snapshot becomes a stunning masterpiece.

Chen Zhiyao had been preparing for her driving test (Part 2) at home for a while, and had accumulated quite a bit of time using X-ray glasses.

At this point, I didn't feel bad about using it anymore, and I casually turned on the X-ray glasses for beachcombing.

With the X-ray glasses, the beachcombing became much easier.

This place is simply a paradise for marine life.

Looking around, you can see not only a wide variety of shellfish, but also many giant octopuses weighing more than half a pound each.

Some of them buried their bodies deep in the sand, leaving only a large bulge visible. Others half-hidden their bodies, appearing and disappearing indistinctly.

Such a big octopus is perfect for fishing for tuna and grouper, Chen Zhiyao immediately perked up.

In no time, she had caught several plump octopuses.

She even snatched one from the beak of a particularly large seagull, which angered the seagull so much that it chased after her and pecked at it.

Luckily she ran fast, otherwise she probably would have had several more bumps on her forehead.

After walking for a short while, Chen Zhiyao was pleasantly surprised to find many breathing holes, each about the thickness of a finger, on the beach ahead.

At first glance, it looks a bit like a mantis shrimp hole, but through X-ray glasses you can see that there are palm-sized giant razor clams under the sand.

There weren't many razor clams at this time, and she hadn't expected to find so many giant razor clams here, so she didn't bring any salt with her.

Without using salt, she had no choice but to dig directly with a sand shovel.

The reason we usually use salt when catching razor clams is because these little guys are incredibly fast.

She dug hard from above, but the creature kept darting downwards like a cunning eel.

Twice, the shovel in my hand clearly touched its nose, but in the blink of an eye, it darted down to a deeper place.

Chen Zhiyao went through a lot of trouble to dig a deep pit before she was able to dig out the first razor clam.

This giant clam was several times larger than a regular razor clam, as long as her palm and as thick as her toes.

It's quite heavy in my hand, probably weighing at least 4 ounces, if not half a pound.

Despite its somewhat clumsy appearance, this guy is incredibly fast when it comes to running in the sand.

Fortunately, she had a cheat code, allowing her to directly spot the giant razor clam hidden beneath the sand.

If she moves quickly enough, these big guys will basically have no chance to escape.

Chen Zhiyao excitedly rolled up her sleeves and then squatted down on the beach to start digging, disregarding her image.

Every swing of the shovel was laced with fierce force, as if they wanted to turn the entire beach upside down.

Time passed by, and Chen Zhiyao actually dug out a total of 13 giant razor clams.

She put the giant razor clam she had dug out into the bucket and then continued walking.

Soon, she spotted a large crab hiding in the sand on the beach. The crab lying in the sand saw the creature lurking beneath, and Chen Zhiyao's eyes lit up; this crab was quite large.

She quietly approached and then quickly used the clip in her hand to clamp it.

After cleaning the creature in a nearby puddle, Chen Zhiyao finally saw its full appearance; it was a handsome swimming crab.

I don't know if no one has been here for a long time, but there are quite a few large crabs lying or half-lying on the sand.

She walked around the neighborhood and caught 10 large crabs, mostly blue crabs and swimming crabs.

Moreover, they are incredibly large, with each crab weighing over seven or eight ounces, and some even approaching a pound.

It's simply a giant among crabs.

Looking at the giant razor clams and the large crabs tied up in the bucket, Chen Zhiyao felt as happy as a flower blooming in spring, and her steps became more cheerful.

As she walked, she suddenly saw a long tail on the beach ahead.

Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a very large fish.

However, the fish was already dead, and half of it was buried in the sand, with only half of its large tail showing.

The fish was quite long; the exposed part was as long as one of her arms.

Chen Zhiyao stepped forward and examined the exposed fish tail; the fish had probably been dead for some time.

The fish meat felt somewhat soft to the touch and had a faint, unusual odor.

But leaving it like this seems like a waste. It's such a big fish; we could take it home and use it as bait.

She rarely gets to go out to sea, and she wanted to catch a few more tuna to take back with her.

Chen Zhiyao grabbed the exposed fish tail with both hands and pulled it out like pulling a radish. Only a section of the tail was visible, so Chen Zhiyao couldn't immediately tell what kind of fish it was.

She thought there wasn't much buried in the soil, but after pulling for a long time, the thing still wouldn't budge.

It appears that a significant portion of the fish's body is still buried in the soft sand.

Chen Zhiyao decisively picked up a shovel and started digging in the surrounding sand.

As time slowly passed, the fish that had been hidden deep beneath the sand finally revealed its complete form.

To Chen Zhiyao's surprise, it turned out to be a shark! Its sharp teeth sent chills down her spine.

However, by this time, the shark had already met its end, and it was emitting an unpleasant odor.

They're no longer edible, but they're perfect for baiting.

Chen Zhiyao tossed the large shark, covered in sand, into the puddle in front of her like it was trash.

After its bath, it was surprisingly beautiful, like a lotus emerging from the water. Chen Zhiyao, having finished her bath, chopped the large shark, weighing over ten kilograms, in half and placed it in a net.

Continuing along the coastline, we picked up quite a few more octopuses, as well as a stranded turbot.

There are lots of seafood on the beach here, but not many of them are really good. She walks very fast and only stops when she comes across valuable seafood.

Before the tide had receded to two-thirds of its maximum depth, Chen Zhiyao found a rocky beach where many good things were stranded.

Before Chen Zhiyao even got close, her two big eyes lit up.

She suddenly ran excitedly towards the rocky beach and stopped in front of a rock about half her height.

On the uneven rock face facing away from the sea, there were several enormous abalone, each weighing at least half a pound.

Just as she reached out to pry open the raw abalone, she suddenly felt something moving at her feet.

"Ahhh..."

Chen Zhiyao was startled and screamed, taking a big step back. She almost fell because she lost her balance.
