Chapter 285 Eye Snail

The rocky beach and Baisha Village are very quiet at night. Apart from the sound of waves and dogs barking, you can hardly hear any human voices on the road.

Chen Weiqiang drove his car and soon brought his family to the white sand beach.

Compared to the quietness of the village, the seaside is quite lively.

On the left side of the pier, besides fishing boats returning from the sea, there are also many anglers fishing and chatting.

There were also many people going beachcombing on the white sand beach and rocky beach, and the lights illuminated the entire beach as if it were evening.

In Chen Zhiyao's memory, the beach and rocky shore in the village always seemed to be quite lively.

The tide receded in the evening, and although it has risen a bit now, it's still a good time for beachcombing.

Grandma Chen and Yan Shuting go beachcombing in the village almost every day, and they have no interest in going out to beachcombing late at night.

The mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, carrying their fishing gear, went to the dock to fish with great confidence.

Grandma Chen has been fishing with her daughter-in-law these past few days, and she's clearly fallen into the trap of becoming a fishing enthusiast.

The remaining three—grandfather, grandfather, and grandson—had been fishing at sea for six days straight and were already tired of it. Each of them grabbed a bucket and tongs and headed straight for the rocky beach.

The X-ray glasses used for beachcombing are like a switch that doubles your strength. After fishing for six days straight, the time has long since been used up.

Chen Zhiyao will have to rely on herself to go beachcombing tonight.

Xiaomeng cheered her on in her mind, "Tangtang, believe in yourself, you can do it."

Chen Zhiyao wasn't worried at all; she was practically rolling her eyes at Xiaomeng.

“I’ve been going beachcombing in the village for at least ten years. I’ve practically worn down every single rock on the reef beach. What’s there to worry about?”

"..." Xiaomeng was speechless after being rebuked, so she simply ignored her.

Chen Zhiyao is very relaxed now. She is not short of money. She came to the beach late at night more to have some fun.

Since binding herself to the beachcombing system, her luck has always been good. She found a beautiful whelk as soon as she arrived at the rocky beach. "Not bad, not bad," she thought, "whelks are quite expensive these days."

Chen Zhiyao quickly picked up the whelk in front of her and happily put it into the bucket.

The conch loves to come out to forage at night, and she soon found several different kinds of little creatures on a large rock nearby.

In less than two minutes, Chen Zhiyao's hands were filled with a handful of various small seashells.

As soon as she looked up, she felt a flash in her eyes, as if something had swum past her.

"Something's up."

Without saying a word, Chen Zhiyao chased after him.

She chased for less than three meters before she saw a small creature swimming rapidly ahead.

It was a small, grayish-black moray eel, almost blending into the surrounding rocks and the night. This little eel wasn't large, but it was incredibly agile and swam very fast in the water.

Although Chen Zhiyao had already spotted it, she still chased after it for quite a while before finally catching it.

The eel wasn't very big; Chen Zhiyao picked it up and weighed it, and it was only about one and a half pounds.

After walking another four or five meters, she came to a place where the aquatic plants were particularly lush.

Suddenly, a patch of water plants in front of me swayed gently.

Based on her years of experience beachcombing, she knew there was definitely something big hidden under the seaweed.

Excitedly, Chen Zhiyao used her all-purpose tongs to part the patch of lush green seaweed in front of her.

Then I saw three stone cichlids under the water plants, the larger one weighing about four ounces and the smaller one barely two ounces.

The little guy, who had been hiding well, was suddenly caught in mid-air and, in a flash, found himself and his friends in an empty bucket.

Shi Jiugong +3

"It's been a long time since I've had Shi Jiu Gong's soup. I'll take it home and make soup tomorrow."

Chen Zhiyao looked at Shi Jiugong in the bucket with a smile, she had even arranged how to feed them.

As I walked along, I suddenly discovered a nest of large snails in a crevice of a rock.

This nest of snails was not only large in size, but also numerous, weighing five or six pounds in total, which filled a net bag.

Chen Zhiyao carried a bucket and a large net bag of spicy snails, walking forward with a beaming smile.

Just then, out of the corner of my eye, I suddenly saw something flashing blue light running sideways past.

Turning her head, she saw a bright blue orchid crab scurrying past her. It was the most conspicuous crab of the night; while other marine creatures could perfectly hide in the darkness with their camouflage, this one stood out immediately.

The target was too conspicuous, and Chen Zhiyao quickly pocketed the enormous orchid crab.

After tying up the orchid crab in her hands, she realized there was a lot of seaweed around.

There is a wide variety of food available for conch to eat here; as far as the eye can see, there are little treasures everywhere.

Chen Zhiyao threw a handful of small sea snails into the bucket, muttering to herself:

"There are plenty of conch shells, but there seem to be fewer crabs tonight."

As soon as she finished speaking, she saw a stone crab run past her and then hide under a nearby rock.

The rock wasn't big, and Chen Zhiyao flipped it over with a single effort.

To her surprise, besides the stone crab she had just seen, there was also an octopus weighing about half a pound and two small whelks under the rock.

When harvesting seafood on a rocky beach, the main method is to turn over rocks and dig into the crevices between them.

Seeing bubbles rising from a nearby stone, Chen Zhiyao quickly flipped it over.

Then I saw two pufferfish and several beautiful starfish below.

There were quite a lot of things inside, but they couldn't be eaten or sold for money; they were completely useless.

Disappointed, Chen Zhiyao soon arrived at a boulder even taller than herself.

With his all-purpose tongs probing into the crevices of the rocks, he soon pulled out a large blue crab weighing about seven or eight ounces.

Just as Chen Zhiyao finished tying the big guy up, she noticed a strange conch shell covered in brown bristles next to the rock.

The conch shell looked somewhat like a spiny conch from the back, but when it was turned over, a red eye could be seen. Seeing that red eye on the back at night was quite frightening; Chen Zhiyao only glanced at it before quickly throwing it into the bucket.

"Oh, it's an eye snail! I thought it was a spiny snail."

This conch shell is called the "eye conch" here because it looks very much like an eye.

Actually, it tastes pretty good, but many people think it looks a bit strange and don't dare to eat it.
