Chapter 284 There's no place like home.

Little Snowball returned from the fishing boat quite early, but the catch was so good that Chen Zhiyao and the other two didn't get home until 8 o'clock.

The house was quiet. As soon as Chen Zhiyao opened the door, she saw the well-behaved Xue Tuan sitting at the entrance, looking as cute as a little angel.

"Awoooooo...?"

"Little Snowball, I'm back! Did you miss me?" Chen Zhiyao squatted down and rubbed the fluffy little Samoyed.

No sooner had she finished speaking than Ah Huang suddenly appeared out of nowhere, enthusiastically throwing himself at her and trying to wash her face.

"Woof woof woof..." (?????)

Ah Huang had most of his body pressed against Chen Zhiyao, and his big tail was wagging so happily that it was almost a blur.

Chen Zhiyao, who was nearly hit and thrown into the air, looked at Ah Huang, who had gained even more weight, with a doting expression:

"Ah Huang, you've gained weight again. You should lose some."

"Woof woof woof... *^o^*"

Ah Huang didn't know what being fat meant; his mind was completely occupied by Chen Zhiyao, and he rubbed his fluffy head against her.

Seeing that they were having fun, Xue Tuan wanted to join in, but the little guy was only a tiny bit big, and even when he tried his best to rush over, he could only hug his little master's knees.

Chen Zhiyao hugged Ah Huang, who was so excited he was almost going crazy, with one arm and gently rubbed the aggrieved little snowball with the other.

Upon hearing Chen Zhiyao's voice, Grandma Chen and Yan Shuting couldn't wait to come out of the house.

Yan Shuting, being impatient, rushed to her daughter's side.

"How was the trip? Did you have fun at sea? Looking at the photos you posted in the group, there are quite a few valuable big guys."

Speaking of fishing, Chen Zhiyao couldn't help but show off:

"The open sea is indeed different from the near sea. There are many valuable big fish there. I even caught several tuna weighing over 100 pounds each."

"That's great, I wish I had gone fishing in the open sea with you."

Yan Shuting watches her daughter post pictures of her 100-pound baby in the group chat every day, and she's so envious she's practically a lemon.

If she had known, she wouldn't have been so stingy with the 8,800 yuan. She could have easily caught a tuna and made back the money for the boat ticket.

Grandma Chen looked her granddaughter up and down, noticing she seemed to have lost some weight, and said with a pained expression:

"You're finally back. You must have had a bad time eating out these past few days. I made lots of your favorite dishes."

"Grandma is so kind, I love all the dishes you cook."

Chen Zhiyao, arm in arm with her mother and grandmother, walked happily into the kitchen.

As for the forgotten Grandpa Chen and Chen Weiqiang, they were still struggling to carry various fishing gear and luggage behind them.

Knowing that the grandfather, grandfather, and grandson were coming back today, the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law didn't go fishing. Instead, they prepared a large table of dishes in the kitchen early in the morning.

Salt-baked whelks, stir-fried blue crab with salted egg yolks, braised pork ribs with shiitake mushrooms, cola chicken wings, and stir-fried lettuce with garlic, plus a soup made with fish balls and goji leaves.

(It's late, so I won't post any pictures.)

Chen Zhiyao first showed off on her WeChat Moments and in some active groups before washing her hands and getting her rice.

At the dinner table, Grandma Chen kept piling food onto her granddaughter's plate, saying, "Tangtang, eat more. Look how thin you are, your chin is all pointed."

"I was only gone for 6 days, it can't be that exaggerated."

Although Chen Zhiyao didn't think she had lost weight, she still happily ate all the food the old lady had put on her plate.

Aside from occasionally serving food to her daughter, Yan Shuting spent most of her time asking about their sea voyage, her heart filled with longing to go fishing.

"The tickets were a bit pricey, but the trip was quite rewarding. Next time you go to the open sea, please take me with you."

Chen Zhiyao smiled and said, "Okay, let's go again during the fishing ban later. There are still quite a lot of big fish outside."

Although fishing is not prohibited during the fishing ban period, they all seem to be using cheat codes, catching just as many fish as those caught with nets.

The purpose of the fishing ban is to allow fish in the sea to reproduce and thrive. There is no need to harm the already scarce seafood in the nearshore waters during this time.

The open sea is sparsely populated and rich in marine resources, making it ideal for fishing during the closed season.

At the dinner table, Grandma Chen, Yan Shuting, and Chen Zhiyao chatted and laughed, having a lively conversation.

The father and son standing next to each other, staring at each other, seemed somewhat out of place.

Seeing that no one was paying attention to him, Grandpa Chen sourly focused on feeding Ah Huang, who was eating heartily.

Seeing this, Chen Weiqiang used his foot to hook the snowball that was wagging its tail at his daughter and teased the little one in a cheeky way.

The meal lasted for almost an hour, and only when the food got cold did everyone finally leave the table, satisfied.

The dishwasher that Chen Zhiyao had been longing for arrived a few days ago and received unanimous praise from Grandma Chen and Yan Shuting.

Now no one has to wash the dishes, and everyone in the family is very happy.

Having eaten and drunk her fill, Chen Zhiyao lazily slumped into the soft sofa.

No matter how luxurious a place is, nothing beats the comfort of your own cozy home.

Ah Huang and Xue Tuan hadn't seen Chen Zhi Yao for several days, so they became very clingy. After eating, they would eagerly come over to cuddle with her.

Although Xue Tuan has short legs, she has excellent jumping ability and easily jumped onto the sofa, then snuggled into Chen Zhiyao's arms.

Not to be outdone, Ah Huang simply sat down on the ground, resting its fluffy head directly on Chen Zhiyao's thigh.

With one hand stroking Xuetuan's soft, fluffy back and the other rubbing Ah Huang's big head, Chen Zhiyao felt like a winner in life.

However, before she could enjoy herself for long, Yan Shuting started urging her to take a shower.

"It's already 10 o'clock, why aren't you taking a shower?"

Hearing her mother's ridiculously exaggerated words, Chen Zhiyao couldn't help but retort:

"It's only 9:10."

"Look at you dawdling, it'll be past 10 o'clock by the time you finish showering."

Yan Shuting didn't see anything wrong with what she said, and urged her again with a self-righteous air:

"Go take a shower and go to bed. Look at your dark circles, you look like you've been punched twice."

Chen Zhiyao, slumped on the sofa, didn't want to take a shower. She turned to look at her father, who was engrossed in playing on his phone.

"I slept all day and I'm still full of energy. Dad, let's go beachcombing. There will definitely be lots of crabs and sea snails coming out tonight."

Chen Weiqiang and his daughter were lying on the sofa in the same position, not wanting to go out to go beachcombing.

But before he could refuse, Grandpa Chen chuckled and agreed:

“Great! I’ve been sleeping too much during the day and can’t sleep at night. It’s a good opportunity to go beachcombing.”

Forced to go out to gather seafood, Chen Weiqiang mentally grumbled: "He can sleep, and even if he can't, he has important things to do tonight."

However, no one cared about his thoughts, and the old man and the child pulled him out the door.

Grandma Chen and Yan Shuting also picked up their fishing rods and followed behind with smiles.

The family happily went out to go fishing, leaving poor Ah Huang and Xue Tuan to guard the house in the yard.
