Chapter 450 Beachcombing on Dolphin Island (1)

Seeing that the two adorable little dolphins had disappeared, Chen Zhiyao quickly came to her senses.

At this moment, Chen Weiqiang and the others had already picked up the beachcombing tools they had prepared and were ready to go ashore.

The tide has been out for some time now, and large stretches of beach that were previously submerged are now fully exposed.

The golden sand glistened in the sunlight.

Upon stepping onto the beach, the group was surprised to find it covered with numerous small, exquisite mounds.

Upon closer inspection, everyone discovered that these bulges were all clams and snails.

These small seashells are cheap, but there are so many of them that there's hardly any room to step.

Yan Shuting stared at the seafood in front of her, her eyes wide with amazement: "Good heavens, this is such a huge piece, it must weigh several hundred pounds."

Grandpa and Grandma Chen stood by without saying a word, busy with their small sand rakes, their faces beaming as they gathered all the little ones together.

There are many places to go beachcombing here, so there's no need for everyone to crowd together. The elderly couple stayed here to collect small seashells, while the remaining three continued onward.

Soon, Chen Zhiyao arrived at the boundary between a sandy beach and a rocky shore. At low tide, soft white sand stretched as far as the eye could see, dotted with tiny pits and rocks.

Through the X-ray glasses, she could clearly see: little crabs scurrying about among the crevices of the rocks, and colorful starfish lazily basking in the sun on the beach.

You can even see playful little fish and shrimp frolicking and playing happily in the shallow water.

Chen Zhiyao quickly walked to a small puddle not far from her. Just as she steadied herself, her mother's hurried voice came from behind her:

"Tangtang, you stay here and go beachcombing. Your dad and I will go check out the rocky beach ahead."

"Okay, you guys go ahead, don't worry about me."

As he spoke, he looked down at the edge of the puddle, where there was a large bulge.

Chen Zhiyao gently dug with a shovel, and a round cat's eye snail appeared before her eyes.

The thick snail meat was like a sponge soaked in seawater; when you gently squeezed it, several clear jets of water sprayed out in all directions.

After all the water was sprayed, the originally thick snail meat suddenly shrank, shrinking into a ball and quickly hiding back inside its shell.

Chen Zhiyao noticed that there was a trail of an octopus crawling next to the bulge.

But after looking around, she couldn't find the octopus anywhere; it seemed to have been carried away by a seagull.

At the bottom of the puddle, there was a long, dark green piece of kelp. Chen Zhiyao picked it up and prepared to take it back to make a cold kelp salad.

Unexpectedly, as soon as I picked up the seaweed, I discovered several pink shrimp hidden underneath.

The shrimp she usually encountered were mostly transparent; this was the first time she had ever seen such a beautiful pink one. The little pink shrimp were quite pretty, and Chen Zhiyao was certain at first glance that these little guys would be incredibly delicious.

These small shrimp are not very big, but they are very agile.

They darted and weaved quickly through the water, and as soon as Chen Zhiyao's all-purpose tongs approached, they would instantly sense it and deftly dodge away, causing her to miss her target repeatedly.

Faced with such a clever little shrimp, she quickly put down the tongs and replaced them with a small, exquisite net.

Chen Zhiyao carefully lowered the net into the water, then swiftly scooped it up, quickly catching all the small shrimp in one go.

However, the quantity was still too small, only about 10 in total, not enough for her to eat alone.

Chen Zhiyao shook her head reluctantly and casually poured the small shrimp from the net into the bucket beside her.

Looking at the few spoils in the bucket, she picked it up and continued walking towards the reef.

As she approached, she saw something good hidden under a rock.

Chen Zhiyao approached excitedly, then forcefully moved the rocks aside. Suddenly, a pair of large pincers appeared.

Looking down, I saw it was a ferocious swimming crab.

The guy's eyes were bulging, staring warily at Chen Zhiyao, as if he were about to strike her at any moment.

Chen Zhiyao wasn't scared at all; instead, her face was full of surprise as she quickly reached out with her multi-purpose clips.

The next second, a large crab weighing seven or eight ounces was in my hands.

Chen Zhiyao skillfully tied up the swimming crab and tossed it into the bucket. In high spirits, she happily continued her treasure hunt along the beach.

She hadn't gone far when she stopped in front of a rather large rock.

This rock looks weathered, with its surface covered in small holes eroded by seawater, and its surroundings are covered with grayish-brown moss.

Chen Zhiyao gritted her teeth and forcefully lifted the large rock in front of her.

As the stone was turned over, a large octopus weighing at least two or three pounds was revealed.

The creature, clinging tightly to the bottom of the rock, was suddenly exposed and became tense, frantically wriggling forward in an attempt to escape.

Unfortunately, the octopus's movements seemed too slow to Chen Zhiyao, who easily picked it up.

Giant Octopus +1

Today, the tide is out, and the seawater is receding quickly and rapidly. Most of the little creatures stranded on the beach like to hide under the rocks.

Chen Zhiyao then turned over a long, narrow rock and quickly caught two plump, white octopuses.

These two octopuses were quite energetic; she got ink all over her hands when she caught them.

After washing her hands, which were covered in dirty ink, in a nearby puddle, Chen Zhiyao picked up several giant hairy clams, each the size of a fist, from the edge of the puddle.

These few clams alone weigh two or three pounds in total.

...

Chen Zhiyao flipped over several large rocks, and the contents of her bucket gradually increased, making the originally light bucket increasingly heavy.

She walked forward step by step, the sand beneath her feet was hot from the sun, but thankfully the sea breeze brought a touch of coolness.

Before she knew it, she had reached the point where the beach met the sea.

Just then, a strange sight caught her attention.

On the beach not far ahead, there was a large pile of black objects.

Filled with curiosity, Chen Zhiyao hurried over to find out what was going on.

When she got closer to the pile of black objects, she was surprised to find that they were all tiny green mussels, each about the size of a fingertip!

They were packed together so tightly, it was as if a grand party was being held on this beach. The juvenile mussels were surrounded by these tiny black mussels, a sight that sent chills down one's spine.

"Goodness, if this grows up, it must weigh several hundred or even a thousand pounds."

Chen Zhiyao immediately looked around and carefully memorized the exact location of the place, planning to come back when the mussels had grown bigger.

I wonder if these delicious mussels will still be there when I come back next time?
