Chapter 378 Going Beachcombing with Friends 2

It has a conch shell on top, but crab legs on the bottom, so it must be a hermit crab.

Chen Zhiyao was too lazy to even walk over; she simply turned around, grinned, and said to her:

"The top is a conch shell, and the bottom is a crab, so it must be a hermit crab. Simply put, after the conch shell died, the hermit crab made it their home."

This was Tang Youyou's first time seeing a hermit crab, and she found it quite interesting. She stretched out a finger and poked the pretty conch shell on it.

"The conch shell on top is quite pretty. If it weren't for the hermit crab below, I would have taken it home as a souvenir."

Seeing that she liked the snail, Chen Zhiyao readily said:

“There are plenty at home, I’ll find you some even nicer ones when we get back.”

"By the way, what kind of snail is this? It looks familiar."

"This is a whelk; the salt-baked whelk we had for lunch was this."

“There are plenty of these conch shells on the beach. I’ll take you to the rocky beach later. There are lots of good things there, and you can have as many of these conch shells as you want.”

"Great! Great!" I heard there are lots of big crabs over at the rocky beach.

"Tangtang..."

"Tangtang..."

...

Chen Zhiyao brought three friends who were visiting the beach for the first time, as if she were bringing three kindergarten children.

It sounded like hundreds of ducks were quacking incessantly in my ears.

As Chen Zhiyao walked, she suddenly heard Yang Yi's voice from ahead:

"Holy crap, look what treasure I found!"

Chen Zhiyao and the others quickly ran over, only to see Yang Yi holding an enormous ribbon, excitedly showing it to them. "Wow! Is this a ribbon? It's huge!"

Tang Youyou stared wide-eyed, her face full of surprise as she leaned forward and carefully extended her right hand to gently touch the enormous object in front of her.

Chen Zhiyao, standing to the side, was equally shocked, her gaze fixed on the enormous belt.

"Yang Yi, you're something else! This tape is much bigger than the ones I usually find."

"I estimate it weighs more than a pound. If you use it to steam vermicelli, it will definitely taste especially delicious."

As soon as she finished speaking, the three people next to her couldn't help but swallow hard.

You can't blame them; the seafood feast they had for lunch was absolutely delicious. This fresh, wild seafood is definitely different from what you get inland.

Seeing the eager looks on their faces, Chen Zhiyao decided to teach them some real skills:

"Come on, everyone, don't just watch! Let me teach you how to find these scallops and all sorts of other small seafood."

"First, we need to check if there are any breathing holes or bulges nearby..."

Chen Zhiyao enthusiastically shared her skills and experience in finding seafood with everyone, and the three people beside her learned very seriously because of the food.

Before long, the group dug up some fist-sized hairy clams and several kilograms of small clams.

I also picked up some octopus and cat's eye snails. Although it wasn't much, it was enough to stir-fry one dish.

The group quickly reached the point where the beach meets the sea, and Chen Zhiyao immediately spotted several mussels ahead. These mussels were all clustered together, and Chen Zhiyao, like pulling up radishes, expended considerable effort to finally pull out this large bunch of tiny creatures.

Just now it looked like there were only a few on the surface, but there's actually a whole bunch hidden under the sand.

One by one, the plump, green-fleshed crabs grew on a thick hemp rope, forming a dense, long cluster.

These mussels were quite large; the largest ones were almost as big as her palm.

The huge bunch of mussels in front of her was piled up densely, and she roughly estimated that it must weigh at least several pounds.

Just as Chen Zhiyao was about to put the mussels into the bucket, she suddenly noticed that the other end of the rope was tied to a wooden board.

The wooden board was also covered with mussels of all sizes.

When Li Lin saw this large bunch of mussels, her eyes widened in disbelief.

"This...this is too much! These mussels are probably enough for two meals."

As she spoke, she gestured with her hands to emphasize the abundance of mussels.

Just as Chen Zhiyao cut the rope connecting the wooden plank, Tang Youyou and Liu Yi, the loving young couple, walked slowly towards them hand in hand.

The two glanced curiously in this direction, but upon seeing the long string of mussels, they quickly and tacitly shifted their gaze elsewhere.

"These tiny seashells are so densely packed, it's terrifying!" Tang Youyou said, covering her eyes and her voice trembling slightly.

Liu Yi, standing to the side, nodded in agreement: "That's right, such a huge pile, it makes my scalp tingle."

Hearing this, Li Lin rolled her eyes at them, annoyed, and started to argue back:

"Hmph, you two are the most pretentious. I didn't hear you mention trypophobia at lunch."

Chen Zhiyao and her other companion were surprisingly timid; they had malicious intentions and wanted to scare them.

So she quietly picked up the whole bunch of mussels and quickly threw them at their feet.

Tang Youyou and Yang Yi were startled by the object flying straight towards them and screamed as they took several steps back.

After realizing that it was the same string of mussels from before, the two were so angry that they stomped their feet.

"Chen Zhiyao"

"Chen Zhiyao"

"Haha, just kidding."

As she spoke, Chen Zhiyao picked up a small knife and began to cut the hemp rope, picking the mussels off one by one and putting them into a net bag.

Although we didn't find any valuable seafood today, we did find quite a few shellfish, enough for everyone to eat their fill for two meals.

Li Lin, standing to the side, gazed at the plump and delicious mussels in her hand, already starting to plan what to eat for dinner.

Chen Zhiyao happily put the mussels into the bucket, then excitedly shouted to her friends who were happily splashing in the waves beside her:

"Come on, I'll take you to the rocky beach to collect seashells and crabs!"

Upon hearing this, the three cheered excitedly, eagerly crowding around Chen Zhiyao and shouting in unison:

"Let's go, let's go catch crabs!"
