Chapter 402 Nighttime Beachcombing 2

Chen Zhiyao stopped in front of several boulders as tall as herself, looking down at the orchid crabs hiding in the crevices of the rocks.

It turns out that there was a crab nest under the largest rock, where several blue crabs were hiding.

One, two, three, four, five.

The two larger ones weighed about six or seven ounces each and looked very fierce with their large pincers raised. The three smaller ones weighed about four ounces each and looked much more docile.

Chen Zhiyao squatted down, half-lying on the rock, stretching out her arms to grab the big crab from the crevice.

In no time, she pulled the whole family out and tied them up.

A family should be together all the time.

After catching the big crab, she took two steps to the left and then stared intently at another crevice in the rock.

Inside were three horseshoe snails, each about the size of a fist, covered in black seaweed.

They were pitch black; at first glance, you might mistake them for three small stones.

Just as Chen Zhiyao was happily digging out three giant horseshoe snails, she looked up and discovered a nest of spicy snails in a crevice in the middle of the rocks.

These snails are of average size, but there are many of them, densely packed together, probably weighing seven or eight pounds in total.

Chen Zhiyao only picked some of the larger ones, which weighed about three or four pounds in total. She would keep the smaller ones for later and planned to come back in a month or two.

After the large snails were picked up, small yellow particles could be clearly seen in their original locations.

These are all snail eggs, which will hatch into baby snails in about two months.

Those snails reproduce very quickly, and as long as the eggs are not destroyed, there will be no shortage of snails in the future.

Chen Zhiyao turned her head and looked around, trying to remember the location of this spicy snail nest, planning to come back later to harvest another batch.

As she walked, she came to another puddle.

The puddle in front of us wasn't deep, but it was quite large, filled with small stones that had been smoothed by the sea.

Among these smooth stones, there was a relatively large stone with a mottled surface that stood out.

Chen Zhiyao, who has extensive experience in beachcombing, saw through its disguise at a glance:

"Haha, you're quite the actor, too bad you've run into me."

As she spoke, she picked up the seemingly out-of-place "stone".

Under the headlamp's light, I saw a tigerfish with a hideous face. Not only is the tigerfish ugly, but it's also quite frightening at night.

Chen Zhiyao raised her hand and looked into the eyes of the creature. She couldn't resist taking one look and quickly put it back in the bucket.

It's really an eyesore. If you took it back to the village, it would probably scare the children to tears.

Although she was a bit ugly, Chen Zhiyao didn't mind at all, after all, it cost one or two hundred yuan per kilogram.

This guy is quite big, at least a pound and a half, it should sell for at least 300 yuan.

Just as Chen Zhiyao was feeling smug, she suddenly saw a round, dark shadow crawl past her.

At that moment, her second brother was nearby, so she gripped the multi-tool in her hand and chased after him.

After running about three meters, Chen Zhiyao saw a black figure ahead. Upon closer inspection, she realized it was a giant sea turtle.

Under the light of her headlamp, she could clearly see that the turtle's back was covered with seaweed and barnacles, making it look like a small, moving mountain.

This guy is pretty bold. When he saw Chen Zhiyao chasing after him, he didn't run away. Instead, he stuck his head out and looked at her curiously.

She stepped forward and gently touched the turtle's shell. Seeing that it didn't resist, she took out a sand shovel from the bucket and tried to help it remove the barnacles from its body.

Just then, she suddenly noticed something moving under the turtle's belly.

Looking down, I was surprised to see several baby sea turtles!

These little guys weren't even as big as her fist, and they looked rather dim-witted.

Chen Zhiyao carefully picked up the baby sea turtles and placed them aside. Then, she took a shovel and cleaned the barnacles off the big guy's back and chest.

The mother sea turtle seemed to sense her kindness, looking at her with gentle eyes, and then letting her manipulate her without moving.

Chen Zhiyao scooped up more than a pound of small barnacles. After cleaning the turtle, she could clearly feel that it had become much more relaxed.

The sea turtle, in a good mood, crawled closer to her and rubbed its head against her leg.

Immediately afterwards, the mother sea turtle led her baby sea turtles slowly back to the sea.

After watching the family return to the sea, Chen Zhiyao turned around and went back to the puddle to rummage through the stones.

However, the harvest was mediocre. After turning over several small stones, I found mostly small stone crabs and snails about the size of my little finger.

Stone crabs and snails weren't worth much, so after turning over a few stones, Chen Zhiyao simply continued walking forward.

She had only taken a few steps when she suddenly kicked a rock weighing four or five pounds away.

At this moment, a cuttlefish weighing about half a pound was spitting out ink in the water.

This guy originally intended to escape, but before he could even move, Chen Zhiyao grabbed him.

Then, she turned over a long, narrow rock next to her.

"Wow, these whelks are quite plump," he said, happily picking up the whelks below.

After picking up all the whelks, Chen Zhiyao noticed a small sea snail next to her that looked like a pickled pepper. "This sea snail is quite unique; it looks just like a small pickled pepper," she said.

This was the first time Chen Zhiyao had ever seen this kind of conch. She thought it was quite interesting, so she casually tossed it into the bucket.

Then we walked towards a rocky forest, where countless small seafoods were hidden among the rocks of all sizes.

...

This is the time when crabs and various sea snails come out to forage for food. With her X-ray vision glasses, Chen Zhiyao looks like she's there to buy supplies.

Carrying the bucket that weighed several pounds heavier, Chen Zhiyao happily continued walking forward.

On the way, I also picked up a sea bass that had already been killed.

This fish is quite large, weighing at least four or five pounds. However, it's not very fresh anymore; the gills are already turning black.

Chen Zhiyao thought that although it had been hanging for a long time, it still didn't have any taste, so it would be fine to take it back for Ah Huang and Xue Tuan to eat.

She had just put the large bass into the net when she looked up and saw a round, plump bread crab right in front of her.

This guy is chubby and looks like a big loaf of bread; he's actually quite cute.

Chen Zhiyao had just picked it up when, unexpectedly, it sprayed a jet of water straight at her. Seeing the water jet coming towards her, Chen Zhiyao quickly dodged.

"Hey, hey, hey, this guy has no sportsmanship, he actually launched a sneak attack."

Bread Crab: Who's being uncivilized? You were the one who started it! (?`^′?)?
