I fished at night for five hours straight this morning, and they were all incredibly strong tuna.
Now that the thrill of fishing is gone, Chen Zhiyao feels sore all over, and her hands are trembling while eating.
After eating and drinking her fill, she couldn't take it anymore. She could barely keep her eyes open and just wanted to go back to bed and sleep soundly for the rest of her life.
"After those tuna left, there aren't many fish left in the sea. You should go back and take a nap and get some rest."
Seeing that she looked dejected, Chen Weiqiang urged her to go back to her room and rest.
"Okay, I'll go back and get some sleep. Dad, you and Grandpa can take a nap too."
The father and son were in the middle of it all when they quickly shook their heads.
"No need, I'm not tired at all."
"You go back and rest first. Your dad and I aren't tired at all."
"Alright, you guys take a break. If you encounter a big one, spend some money to hire someone to help you reel it in. Don't be stingy and unwilling to spend money."
When she passed outside, Chen Zhiyao even turned on her X-ray glasses and looked around.
A lot of small fish and shrimp have returned, but there aren't any big fish; the largest is only about four or five pounds.
Seeing that there were no big fish, Chen Zhiyao felt relieved and went back to her room for a nap. She fell asleep almost instantly after lying down on the bed.
I guess I was too tired, because I slept for several hours straight.
The fishing boat had changed its fishing spot again at some point. The setting sun shone on her face, and Chen Zhiyao groggily opened her eyes.
She took out her phone and saw that it was already past 5 o'clock, which startled her so much that she quickly sat up in bed.
"No way, I actually slept for 4 hours."
Chen Zhiyao had just finished washing up and hadn't even taken out her fishing gear when the loudspeaker above her head started playing.
"Dear fellow anglers, dinner is ready. Please come to the kitchen to eat."
"In addition, the fishing boat will return to port at 8:00 AM tomorrow. Late-night snacks will be provided on board between 10:00 PM and 2:00 AM. We wish all anglers a pleasant fishing trip."
Chen Zhiyao has been catching big fish almost every day these past few days, so she's a little reluctant to go back.
Knowing that the fishing boat would be returning to port early tomorrow morning, she planned to fish all night tonight.
After dinner, Chen Zhiyao, full of energy, carried her fishing gear to her fishing spot, number 8.
At this time, only about half of the people were fishing.
The fishing wasn't great in the afternoon, so many people thought they should rest first and then fish all night.
She looked around and found that among the familiar faces, only her grandfather and Li Nuo remained.
Chen Weiqiang and Chen Hu planned to fish all night, so they had already gone back to sleep.
Chen Zhiyao turned on her X-ray glasses and looked around at the sea.
Although there weren't any large ones, there were quite a few small, dark figures.
There were even more small, dark figures, swimming and playing in the water in groups.
After memorizing the locations of these little creatures, she turned off the X-ray glasses.
Knowing she was going back tomorrow, Chen Zhiyao simply added another bottle of bait additive to her fishing bait.
Since the anglers on either side aren't around, there's no need to worry about them stealing both of our fish.
The shrimp I brought from home are all gone, and now all that's left are some squid I caught last night.
Chen Zhiyao baited the hook with a small squid and cast it to the left front based on her memory.
Less than a minute after the bait hit the water, her fishing rod suddenly sank.
The tension on the fishing rod was neither too heavy nor too light; based on her experience, she figured the fish weighed about four or five pounds.
Having already handled tuna weighing over 100 pounds, Chen Zhiyao now finds handling small fish weighing only a few pounds utterly uninteresting.
If it's not interesting, then she simply stops playing the fish and just reels it in violently.
Two minutes later, she pulled a scrawny pepper snapper out of the water. It was quite large, weighing a full 4.6 jin (approximately 2.3 kg).
Not long after, she flew another black sea bream weighing over 2 pounds onto the deck.
Chen Zhiyao happily removed the fishhook, muttering to herself:
"Two in a row are rock bream, could there be a school of rock bream down there?"
She thought she saw some small fish with slender bodies and long tails just now; they might be longtail snapper.
Knowing that longtail sea bream are several times more expensive than ordinary rock bream, Chen Zhiyao immediately put a squid leg on her fishing hook.
The fishing goggles were turned on again, and then a squid leg soaked in bait slowly descended in front of several fish with long tails.
Before the bait had even stopped moving, fish from all around swam over.
Less than a minute later, Chen Zhiyao felt a gentle tug on the fishing rod.
The fish below were small and even weaker, so they easily pulled it out of the water.
Looking at the beautiful, slender, fiery red fish in mid-air, Chen Zhiyao excitedly shouted:
"It really is a longtail snapper!"
She flew the beautiful little fish onto the deck and then carefully removed the hook.
Longtail snapper are schooling fish, and she had just seen more than a dozen of these pretty little creatures with long tails below.
Seeing that no one was at the fishing spot next to her, Chen Zhiyao quickly waved to her grandfather.
"Grandpa, come quick, come quick!"
"It'll be ready soon, just two more minutes."
Actually, the old man had already seen his granddaughter catch a longtail snapper, but he was still playing the fish and couldn't rush over right away.
Grandpa Chen quickly pulled the sea bass out of the water and immediately ran over.
The grandfather and grandson, seemingly possessed by magic, grinned as they hauled fish one after another ashore from the sea.
In one hour, Chen Zhiyao caught 7 longtail snapper, while Grandpa Chen caught 5.
Unfortunately, they are not very big, all weighing only about one or two pounds.
There weren't many longtail snapper; most of what I caught later were rockfish.
Striped pepper snapper +2
Red sea bream +3
Black sea bream +4
Pepper Snapper +2
Bigeye snapper +3
When Chen Weiqiang and Chen Hu arrived, the grandfather and grandson had already finished their bucket of rock bream.
Knowing that there was a longtail snapper, Chen Weiqiang felt like he had missed out on a fortune and slapped his thigh several times in frustration.
"I should have known better than to go to sleep."
I don't know if it's because the news of the two of them catching a longtail snapper leaked out, but more and more anglers are coming back to fish.
With more people, the fish below have more food options.
Chen Zhiyao clearly felt that the rate of catching fish had slowed down, and the fish she caught were all small sea fish.
Sea bream +3
Yellow foot wax +2
Yellow croaker +5
Bass +3
Ribbonfish +2
Seeing that there weren't any big fish in the sea, Chen Zhiyao hung a squid leg on the hook.
Several minutes later, she felt a slight tug on her fishing rod.
Chen Zhiyao looked disappointed. "There's no pull at all. It's probably just another small fish fry."
As the fishing line was continuously reeled in, Chen Zhiyao's eyes widened when she saw that familiar long beard.
"Holy crap, this little green dragon must be a spirit, how come it's so big?"
Overjoyed, Chen Zhiyao flew the giant little green dragon, weighing over two pounds, from the sea onto the deck.
"Grandpa, Grandpa, look what I caught!!"
Grandpa Chen, standing to the side, carrying a large blue-spotted catfish weighing over ten pounds, said with a smile:
"Keep it down, don't make a fuss."
As he spoke, he waved the large blue-spotted fish, which weighed over ten kilograms, in his hand, his smile practically ostentatious.
Chen Zhiyao: "..."
