Chapter 30 Triggers a Serendipitous Quest

"Who is it? Why is there a car?!"

"Can't a car fit in a backpack?"

"Don't you know? That RV that was all the rage in the chat room a while ago."

"I know! I know! This must be it."

The departing RV left everyone with much to discuss and marvel at.

"Brother Duan, have you managed to contact Uncle, Aunt, and Wen Mofei?" Lin Hu asked the person next to him, turning his gaze away from the spot where the RV had disappeared.

"Yes, we've arranged to meet at (1396, 999), which is a bit far from us. Let's drive there later." Duan Linzhou took a napkin and casually wiped the grease from the fried dough stick from Lin Hu's mouth.

Lin Hu did not dodge, letting the other party do as they pleased.

"Shall we leave now?" Duan Linzhou noticed that Lin Hu was lost in thought, so he asked.

"Stand back a bit, put the RV out, and wait for me over there." Lin Hu took out a Rubik's Cube from his pocket and handed it to Duan Linzhou, then pointed to a spot not far away and instructed him.

"Okay." Duan Linzhou responded and left in the direction Lin Hu pointed.

Lin Hu approached the five energetic young men. When he saw one of them notice him, Lin Hu beckoned to him with his finger.

The young man pointed to himself, looked around, and only walked over after confirming it was him.

"Did you call me?" the young man asked Lin Hu.

His voice sounded like he had just gone through puberty. His cotton coat was wide open, revealing a thin black T-shirt underneath. He was also half a head shorter than Lin Hu, and very thin. His exposed ankles looked like skin and bones.

"How old is he?" Lin Hu asked.

"Ten... fifteen." The young man was taken aback by the question, but still answered habitually.

"What's your name?" Lin Hu asked again, seeing that the person was staring blankly.

"Chen Xiang," the boy answered obediently as always.

"Have you eaten?" Lin Hu asked, taking a steaming hot meat bun out of his backpack.

Chen Xiang swallowed hard, looking rather pathetic. They hadn't eaten for several days because all their crystal cores had been used to buy mints and upgrades, leaving no extra to buy food. They had been surviving on some instant food they had collected during their last trip to the island.

"...No." Chen Xiang didn't know if Lin Hu was going to give him food, so he hesitated for a moment before uttering "no."

"Here, take it. I'm in a hurry." Lin Hu handed the other person a bag filled with hot meat buns.

Finally, Chen Xiang, still dazed, returned to his boss's side with a warm bag in his arms. He only snapped out of his daze when the mushroom-headed guy asked him what was in his hand, and then presented the paper bag to the skinny guy like a treasure.

"Bro, some non-mainstream person just gave me this."

Lin Hu: Thank you, give me back my steamed bun!

...

Lin Hu sat in the passenger seat, surrounded by a fog, and at this distance, he could no longer see the figures of the group of people from before.

"Let's go," Lin Hu said, and Duan Linzhou started the car and set off.

The car started and drove away, leaving behind another round of commotion.

"What danger could there be in such a desolate desert?" Lin Hu opened a bag of spicy potato chips to eat because he couldn't see clearly due to the thick fog.

"Mutant scorpions, cacti, tumbleweeds, which one isn't dangerous?" Duan Linzhou replied while driving.

"Too."

Because they had a car, the two arrived at the meeting point before the others.

After asking several people about the distance, the furthest one wouldn't arrive for another hour, so the two of them went back to their RV to lie down.

The bed the two planned to sleep in was at the very back of the carriage, separated by a terrace, where a brazier had been lit.

Duan Linzhou pulled up a chair and sat down, while Lin Hu opened the partition door to the bed next to him and lay down.

Lin Hu had 1097 check his surroundings to make sure it was safe, and then he comfortably lay down on the soft bed and under the covers.

"How about we have some barbecue?" Lin Hu smelled the aroma of charcoal and suddenly remembered that there was still some lamb left after cleaning it earlier, which he could take out and grill.

"What do you want to grill?" Duan Linzhou asked.

"How about the lamb skewers? The seasoning I ordered before had cumin in it, but I haven't used it much. I've accumulated a whole bunch of it." Lin Hu said, taking a pair of slippers from the warehouse and putting them on before going into the inner room to marinate the meat.

Duan Linzhou also went in to help, washing some vegetables.

The two were ready, and when they were halfway through grilling, Wen Mofei and Wang Fuqing, who were closest to them, also arrived.

"Damn! It smells so good." Wen Mofeiren's voice could be heard from afar even before he entered.

"This RV is really cool!" Wang Fuqing said, giving the RV a positive review as he approached.

The two were filled with amazement. They had heard Lin Hu and Duan Linzhou mention the car in the group chat before, but they never showed them what it looked like. Now they finally saw it for the first time.

"Come on up and help us grill," said the two people under the railing of the terrace in Linhuchong.

"Where do we go up from?" Wen Mofei asked.

"The door is on the side of the carriage, come up from there," Lin Hu replied, pointing in the direction.

"Let's move it downstairs to grill, there's not enough room for so many people here," Duan Linzhou reminded Lin Hu. Their terrace could normally seat three or four people without any problem, but with a brazier here, it was a bit difficult.

"Oh, that's right!" Lin Hu got up to open the door and opened the retractable staircase. Wen Mofei and Wang Fuqing came up to help move things.

Two people carried the brazier, one person carried the barbecue grill, and one person went to move a table downstairs to put the food.

Lin Hu then took out a few small stools and a plate of fruit from the warehouse.

"Lin Hu, what kind of heavenly life are you living? Even my brother Duan is smiling more now that he's with you," Wen Mofei said, popping a Sunshine Rose into his mouth.

“Isn’t he always smiling?” Lin Hu replied with a smile.
