I saw Lu Linqi more than 20 minutes later.
There were quite a few cars on the road, but I was lucky and didn't encounter many red lights, so I got home quite quickly.
The boy leaned against the wall, playing on his phone; the sound of ice cubes melting was quite crisp. Next to him, stacked against the wall, were two large food storage containers and two smaller cardboard boxes.
Hearing the noise, Lu Linqi looked up from his phone, closed the match-3 game, and looked at the girl walking towards him.
"Where did you go to eat? You were there pretty quickly."
Lu Chuqing used the key to open the outer door, pressed the numbers on the combination lock of the inner door, and only after the door opened did she say, "I'm with my mom's friend, over on Chenxi Road."
"That place isn't close to your home, did you take a taxi back?"
"Yeah, didn't you say you were still waiting at the door? If I don't hurry back, my king crab will go bad!"
Lu Chuqing put the keys and bag on the entryway cabinet and helped Lu Linqi carry the two large food containers into the house.
The box was huge, and I don't know how many shrimp soldiers and crab generals were inside, but it was quite heavy.
After moving the two large insulated boxes, she couldn't help but say, "My second uncle is really generous; these two boxes of seafood are quite heavy."
She offered to help move the cardboard boxes, but Lu Linqi stopped her, saying, "Find something to open this up first, and put it in the refrigerator quickly."
"Alright, then you can move it yourself." After saying that, Lu Chuqing turned around and went to find the scissors.
She initially thought the seafood had all died after such a long time, but when she opened the box, she found they were still alive.
The two king crabs took up half the box. They were both very large and were placed in an oxygenated seawater bag, where they could only move their long crab legs in a restricted manner.
On the other side were three very large Australian dragons, which, even though they were covered, were still waving their pincers to squeeze into a spot.
Lu Chuqing looked at Lu Linqi, who had finished moving his things, and asked, "Did you leave anything at your house?"
The boy squatted down to look at the large box of food, poking at it through the bag with his hand. "My mom isn't home, and my dad hasn't come back yet. It's no fun eating alone, so I brought it all over."
"No," Lu Chuqing said, a little regretful. "I really want to eat seafood, but it's too big. Not only does it not fit in my refrigerator, but it's also troublesome for us to prepare."
"I should have gone with my second uncle. We could have eaten it all before coming back, and saved myself the trouble."
Lu Linqi looked up at her. "Then what should we do? Should I ask Uncle Wang to come and take it to my house again, and then hire a chef to cook it?"
She sighed inwardly once again at the young master's life, and said, "Take the big things back with you, let me see what's in here."
When the other box was opened, it didn't contain such an extravagant amount of seafood, but the various shrimp were still longer than her hand, and there were also many other types of shellfish.
Lu Linqi helped sort the shrimp and put them in the refrigerator, with Lu Chuqing assisting him.
She had just put out two dishes when she remembered something and asked him, "Have you had dinner yet?"
"Not yet. I got a call before get out of class was over saying the things had arrived. I asked Uncle Wang to pick them up first, and I'll bring them to you after class."
Lu Linqi didn't have a break during the summer vacation. He signed up for several special training classes, and his days were no easier than when he was at school. In fact, he was even more disciplined.
Lu Chuqing felt a headache coming on just hearing the name of the special training class; it was too complicated.
It's not true that the richer a person is, the more outstanding they are.
Because they not only have money, but they also know how to work hard.
Look at the dark circles under my little cousin's eyes at such a young age; he deserves to be successful in the future.
"Since they're still fresh, how about we make some for dinner? I didn't eat much since I rushed back," Lu Chuqing said.
What would you like to eat?
Lu Linqi looked at the shrimp and said, "I'm not very good at cooking seafood. How would you like to eat it?"
Lu Chuqing knew there were many ways to eat seafood, but like Lu Ying, she couldn't accept eating raw meat. The simplest and most straightforward methods were steaming and blanching.
So she said, "Just steam it?"
“Okay.” Lu Linqi said, picking out some to clean, and then took out a steamer and put it on to steam.
He continued to put what he could into the refrigerator, and then took out his phone to search for dipping sauces for steamed seafood.
Lu Chuqing was already busy with the two cardboard boxes. As soon as she arrived at the door, she smelled a durian aroma. After opening the boxes, she found two durians inside.
"Wow, these two durians are really big." She wrinkled her nose and inhaled the unique aroma of durian.
This stuff is like stinky tofu and snail rice noodles; people either love it or hate it.
She likes things that taste like durian, but she doesn't like eating durian.
No one would believe it if I told them, but she just can't eat durian.
She had eaten it once in her past life. It was soft and fluffy, but she personally felt it was too sweet. After taking two bites, she was so overwhelmed by the sweetness that she almost threw up.
It can only be said that she is not worthy of this precious treasure.
Lu Ying returned at that moment. Lu Linqi opened the door, and the woman frowned as she came in, saying, "There's a strong smell."
"My dad brought me durian." The boy wasn't used to the smell either, and he raised his hand to cover his nose.
"I can smell it."
Lu Ying put down her bag, and the smell grew stronger the further she went in.
"Mom, do you want some? If you do, we can keep one. If not, let my second brother take it. I can't eat this stuff."
Lu Chuqing rummaged through another cardboard box filled with various exotic fruits. Some looked familiar, but she couldn't name them.
She plucked a fruit from a bunch that resembled grapes but had fruit similar to longans. She looked at it and saw that it needed to be peeled. She peeled off the outer skin, revealing flesh similar to lychees, but the flesh was segmented.
He was amazed by the taste and immediately tore off another one, peeled it open, and fed it to Lu Ying, saying, "Mom, you have to try this, it's delicious."
