Chapter 29 I Sold Myself to You

Ji Mofan watched as Ge Gen's expression changed several times, and smiled to himself.

“These aren’t expensive. I have a few more. I’ll bring them to you later so you can pick one you like,” Ji Mofan said.

Although he couldn't produce many magical artifacts, they had all been handed over to the Yun Cang Sword Sect's burial artifact tomb and returned to the public.

But Qiankun bags are very common and not rare. He had kept quite a few for himself after clearing out secret realms in the past.

Some people are willing to use spatial rings to store their valuables, but those things are much more complicated to make than Qiankun bags and are also more expensive. Therefore, Qiankun bags are still the mainstream in the cultivation world.

The only downside is that the Qiankun Bag cannot recognize its owner; once it is stolen, the contents are not protected at all.

On the other hand, the use of a spatial ring also proves to some extent that the owner has placed something within it that he at least considers worth risking his life to protect.

After all, the only way for a magical artifact that has recognized its master to break free from its master is either for the master to actively dissolve the contract by inflicting heavy losses on both sides, or for the contract to be automatically dissolved upon death.

"No, no, no, I can't take Master's things." Ge Gen was still trembling with fear, waving his hands frantically at him.

"Listen to your master." Fang Xuan finished communicating with Xiao Er and sat down at the table again.

“Your master is the chief of a sect, so you can’t be too shabby when you go out, or people will look down on him.”

"I certainly won't let Master down!" Ge Gen immediately changed his mind.

Ji Mofan glanced at Fang Xuan with a hint of surprise.

This person is actually good at disciplining children?

He thought Fang Xian would be the type to find children troublesome.

"I'm a year older than you." Seemingly noticing his inner thoughts, Fang Xian pointed at him and said, "You should know how to respect your seniors."

"Alright, the one who lost to me at the last Dao Asking Conference, Senior Fang, Xuan."

"Let you be smug for a few more months." Fang Xuan was not angered by his tone at all, but instead raised his eyebrows and smiled nonchalantly.

“My cultivation level has already loosened up. When we officially face off next year, you will be fighting a 22-year-old Nascent Soul stage cultivator.”

Ji Mofan's eyes drooped slightly at the corners.

He had almost completely forgotten about it.

Even when Fang Xian was only a year younger, he could still knock him off the stage. Ji Mo Fan felt that he owed some credit to Fang Xian's negligence and laxity in cultivation.

After all, before the last conference, the top spot on the Heavenly Ranking had been held by cultivators from the five major sects for many consecutive years.

Yun Cang Sword Sect was not as famous as Ji Mo Fan; it was just an unknown and humble sect.

Fang Xian had no destination in front of him, so he ran forward aimlessly and couldn't tell whether he was fast or slow.

But when he faced Ji Mofan, he suddenly realized that he was far from being pushed to his limit.

Thus, he lived three years that were completely opposite to those of Jimo Fan.

While Ji Mofan became the chief disciple of the Yun Cang Sword Sect, spending most of his cultivation time on sect affairs, Fang Xuan was diligently cultivating.

Keep venturing into secret realms and accepting quests.

His comprehension was already quite good, so he was able to overtake others during the period when Jimo Fan was stagnant.

"My master is the most powerful cultivator in the world!" Ge Gen couldn't help but speak up to defend Ji Mo Fan.

"What are those reclusive old monsters going to do with what you're saying?" Fang Xuan was probably happy to tease Ge Gen because he was so stubborn and honest.

"Do they have the same ice spiritual root as my master? Did they become the chief disciple of a sect at the age of seventeen?" Ge Gen stood up from the stool and started hopping around like a little rabbit again.

"Even Brother Fang Xian isn't as powerful as my master!" He concluded his theory in a clear voice.

"I've been wanting to say this for a while now." Fang Xuan took a deep breath. "You call Ji Mofan 'Master,' but you call me 'Brother.' Don't you think that makes the seniority a bit awkward?"

"Should I call you Uncle Fang Xian?" Ge Gen asked him sincerely.

Fang Xuan fell into a subtle silence.

"Call me Uncle-Master." He leaned forward, deliberately baring his teeth to scare the child.

Ge Gen immediately hid behind Ji Mo Fan.

“Even your master can’t protect you; his cultivation level is now two realms lower than mine,” Fang Xuan said.

"That's not necessarily true."

Suddenly, Ji Mo Fan spoke up.

He reached into his storage bag, took something out, and placed it on the table.

The dishes that had just been served on the table had cooled down by two degrees due to the cold air.

Fang Xian's brow twitched.

"Not only did you pick up a disciple with a lightning spirit root, but you also got yourself a new weapon?" He reached out and poked the scabbard of the Snow Embracing Sword.

Then, feeling so cold, I immediately pulled my hand back.

It's strange, Ji Mofan himself gives others the impression of being gentle.

But ironically, he possessed an ice-elemental root that was so cold it was almost icy.

You can't even touch it.

"You've had a wonderful few days at the Yuncang Sword Sect while I haven't seen you," Fang Xuan concluded.

"This clearly shows that you are a stumbling block on my path forward. It would be best if we met less in the future." After showing off, Ji Mo Fan stuffed the Embracing Snow Sword back into his Qiankun Bag.

This thing is indeed a bit too cold, especially after forming a contract with it and resonating with the spiritual power of the Ice Spirit Root.

If we put it on the dining table, they can have shaved ice right away.

The meal was quite good.

Fang Xian's cooking skills weren't top-notch, but every single ingredient he sourced was of the highest quality.

Even just tasting the freshness of the ingredients is many times better than the food served at the Yun Cang Sword Sect.

Who said that cultivators can only eat simple meals?

That's all nonsense.

"If I keep buying ingredients from Changfeng Valley from you, do you have any discounts, like internal pricing?" Ji Mofan asked him.

Actually, he's fine. Even if he craves these good things, he's already fasted, so not eating them won't cause him any serious illness.

However, I'm still a beginner with kudzu and can't go without food for a long time.

But he really didn't want to make him suffer by eating at the sect's canteen.

Compared to the ingredients Fang Xuan brought out, the Yun Cang Sword Sect's dining hall was practically a super slum.

Since he had taken Ge Gen as his apprentice, he naturally had to try his best to feed the child well.

We must not let our children follow the same path we once took.

Moreover, this is not simply about satisfying his appetite.

The quality of the spiritual herbs from Changfeng Valley is second to none in the entire cultivation world.

Using these things to lay the foundation every day will also benefit the future cultivation of kudzu.

“You know me, spirit stones aren’t universally accepted with me,” Fang Xuan said.

Ji Mofan was not surprised at all, and besides, he really didn't have many spirit stones.

Otherwise, he could have just bought things through legitimate channels; why would he need to contact Fang Xuan privately?

"In a little over half a month, the Mysterious Realm of Southern Xinjiang will open." Ji Mofan slowly spoke, tapping his fingertips lightly on the teacup beside him.

"Once we enter the secret realm, I'll sell myself to you."
