That night, Huo Jing fell asleep by the river.
In his dream, he dreamed again of the day his mother left.
Two years later, Xiao Huojing's grandparents died and were buried on the mountain.
It was during the Qingming Festival one year. Perhaps because my mother was obedient, my father let her out, and the three of them secretly went to visit the graves.
At the grave, the mother refused to kneel down and kowtow to her grandparents, so the father beat her severely. Little Huo Jing stood aside, his small eyes filled with coldness.
Xiao Huojing told his father that he saw a flower on the edge of a cliff that looked like a ginseng flower.
The father, driven by greed, immediately made him lead the way, and the mother, thin and with sunken features, followed numbly.
At the edge of the cliff, Xiao Huojing saw his mother slowly approaching the edge, and he grabbed her.
He asked his mother, "Mom, will you always love the path?"
The mother didn't speak, but Xiao Huojing saw a fleeting moment of moisture in her eyes.
He sighed. His mother was still just a little girl.
He let go of his mother's hand and walked towards his father. As his father was digging in the ground, he pushed him down, and a scream echoed through the forest.
Little Huo Jing smiled and said to his mother, "Mom, go home soon, and always remember Little Jing."
Mom said she would take him with her.
Xiao Huojing refused. If they didn't come down the mountain, the villagers would come looking for them, and his mother wouldn't be able to walk fast with him.
He gave all the money he had stolen from his father to his mother and watched her leave.
Later, he returned to the village and told the villagers that his parents had fallen off a cliff.
The villagers are very united; they organized a group of people to search below the cliff.
They only found the body of the father, which had been mostly eaten by wild boars.
Everyone assumed that their mother had already been eaten, so they didn't suspect anything.
That night, Xiao Huojing lay in bed and finally had a wonderful dream.
