"Never mind, pretend you don't know." The other person was also a little scared, but still pretended to be calm.
They've been moving goods at this abandoned dock for years.
This is the first time I've encountered someone openly smuggling firearms and ammunition. In the past, they always hid them, afraid of being caught.
Moreover, the dock was full of people, and none of them looked like nice guys.
"Yes." The man nodded vigorously.
Smuggling and such have nothing to do with them; they just need to work honestly.
Unbeknownst to them, their conversation was overheard by people behind them.
After getting rid of the box, Shi Xinglong elbowed Huang Jian beside him and muttered, "We're really lucky. We just changed jobs at a different dock and this happened."
Huang Jian looked indifferent. "What's there to be afraid of? It has nothing to do with us."
Shi Xinglong frowned. "How could we not be related? Look at those people not far away. Are we going to be silenced?"
It's no wonder he was overthinking things; the sheer scale of the situation was frightening to him.
Huang Jian did not answer him, his gaze wandering through the crowd.
"What are you looking for?" A hand patted his shoulder, startling him. He turned around and saw Shi Xinglong.
"Are you crazy?" Huang Jian cursed.
Under the dim light, Shi Xinglong looked him over several times, a hint of suspicion in his eyes. "You've been acting strangely lately."
They were doing well at their original dock, but a couple of days ago they suddenly brought him to this abandoned dock and told him not to tell the boss.
Today, he was even more absent-minded, his eyes darting around.
Huang Jian felt a moment of panic, but quickly calmed down. "What's strange? I'm just curious about who those people are."
"Come quickly and help me lift this." He placed his hand on a box.
Shi Xinglong walked over, and with a little effort from the two of them, the box was lifted up.
"Curiosity killed the cat." He glanced at Huang Jian and couldn't help but say, "Don't look at what you shouldn't see, and don't do what you shouldn't do."
He sounded like he knew something.
Huang Jian's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly changed the subject, "I wonder what stage the mission of the boss and the others has reached? When can they go back?"
I felt a little dissatisfied.
Upon arriving in the port city, Lin Xiaoxiao abandoned the two at the dock, leaving them to fend for themselves.
I didn't do much in terms of tasks, but I did a lot of work.
Shi Xinglong said casually, "What's the rush? The boss won't leave us stranded in Hong Kong. We'll go back when it's time."
Huang Jian: "......"
That idiot.
In the distance, the four gang leaders, headed by Chairman Li, stood next to Perry and several bearded men, whispering among themselves.
Just then, a bearded man ran over and mumbled a few words to Perry.
Perry looked at Chairman Lee and said, "Those ships are full; your people can board now."
Chairman Li rubbed his fingers together and asked, "And the compensation...?"
Perry gave a wink to the bearded men, who immediately understood and opened several large boxes at their feet.
Wow!
The moment the box was opened, everyone couldn't help but gasp in surprise.
Because the box was filled with gold bars.
Seeing so many gold bars, Chairman Li and the others did not smile; instead, their faces turned solemn.
"What? You think it's not enough?" Chairman Li was not satisfied with their reaction.
It's impossible to complain about the amount being too little.
"No, no, I would never complain about the amount."
Chairman Li smiled, exchanged a glance with the leader of the Da Sha Gang and others, raised his hand and made a gesture, and about ten people stepped forward to carry away the box full of gold bars.
“Wait…” Perry called out to stop him.
The next second, the bearded man slammed the lid shut on the box.
"What does this mean?" Chairman Li glanced at the box, his gaze meeting Perry's.
Perry chuckled twice, then had the bearded man carry the boxes onto the ship before explaining to them, "These gold bars are only half the payment. The other half is at the port in Thailand. Once you've safely escorted the goods there, someone will give you the other half."
"Then can we have this half first?" Chairman Li asked.
Perry shook his head. "There are very important things in this shipment that cannot be lost. If you take half the payment but are unwilling to fulfill your responsibilities, wouldn't I be going to lose a fortune?"
Seeing that Chairman Li and the others' expressions were getting increasingly grim, Perry pointed to the largest merchant ship and said, "The gold bars are on board; they're already yours."
It means preventing Chairman Li and his group from taking the gold bars away.
You have to go with the ship.
Chairman Li's expression stiffened slightly. "Mr. Perry, didn't we agree before that the payment would be deposited into the account?"
He provided Perry with several overseas accounts specifically for receiving payments.
Perry, however, simply gave them gold bars.
They won't let him take it away.
If Perry really intends to abandon them after using them, wouldn't they be doomed and get nothing in return?
There really is something fishy going on.
Perry did this just to be on the safe side. He had heard that these gangsters in Hong Kong had no sense of morality, and if he paid them in advance, they might turn against him.
Instead of giving them money, they will work even harder for the huge reward.
"The account can't process the payment," Perry casually made up an excuse to brush them off.
They didn't take these people seriously at all.
He was more curious about what kind of trouble those Chinese agents would cause today.
"Okay," Chairman Li said through gritted teeth.
A hint of gloom flashed in his eyes.
Only the leaders and confidants of the four major gangs knew what would happen today. The members of the other smaller gangs were overjoyed when they saw the gold bars and were looking forward to dividing the spoils once they arrived at the port in T country.
"Boss, we've been assigned two ships here." Merchant ships left the port one after another, with only five ships left loading cargo.
Two of the ships were the ones the Black Tiger Gang was supposed to escort.
Wang Dazhuang went aboard to take a look, and after getting off, he told Lin Xiaoxiao, "It doesn't look big, but it holds quite a lot."
"Boss, should we go up?"
"Yes, I saw that people from the next boat got on."
The men chattered excitedly, filled with anticipation for the upcoming voyage.
"No rush." Lin Xiaoxiao's gaze fell on the laborers who were orderly loading goods onto the ship.
As the merchant ships set sail, fewer and fewer people remained on the dock, until only the Black Tiger Gang and Perry, who stood in the distance gazing out to sea, were left.
The bearded men around Perry went with the merchant ship.
Only Perry and his nominal secretary remained.
Ten minutes later, Perry's secretary came over, glanced at Lin Xiaoxiao, and said with a smile, "The merchant ship is about to set sail. You can board now. Have a safe journey."
Lin Xiaoxiao took two steps and then stopped, turning to look at Perry.
Coincidentally, the old man also happened to be looking over, and their eyes met, sparks flew between them.
"Boss?" Wang Dazhuang's voice rang out from behind.
"Boom!!!" Immediately following was a deafening roar, and dawn broke.
The merchant ship behind them exploded, and the helmsmen and sailors who were about to board were stunned by the aftershocks and it took them a long time to come to their senses.
Flames shot into the sky from the dock—
