In the center of these countless mirrors is a life-sized doll, roughly bound together with old, yellowed coarse linen and straw.
This doll is made like a scarecrow used to scare away birds in a farmland; it's quite crude.
It has no clear facial features; only the outlines of eyes and mouth are sewn out on the head with dark red thread.
What really gave me the creeps was the various parts of his body!
The chest, arms, legs, abdomen, and head were all cut open or hollowed out.
Through these hollowed-out holes, I could see that the doll was like a skin, waiting to be filled in.
The filling material is self-evident.
I looked at the several items placed on the black earthen platform around the doll, including a right hand curled up like a chicken claw, which belonged to a temporary worker more than 20 years ago.
There was also a section of the right leg, and a clump of wrinkled abdominal tissue, which was probably a kidney...
And compared to the above items, the aged left hand looks remarkably fresh!
These items were carefully placed on the earthen platform according to a certain orientation.
Beneath each organ, there seemed to be some kind of oiled paper with talismans drawn on it, preventing direct contact with the damp ground.
"What the hell is going on?!"
Zhang Qiang's Adam's apple bobbed, and his voice was dry.
As I scanned the organs in front of me, I suddenly sensed something was wrong.
"How could there only be five? What about Zhang Wei's head, and the original heart?!"
"This thing is too eerie. It's getting dark, maybe we should make our way back."
Li Huai's lips trembled as he spoke from the bottom of his heart.
"Get out!"
I cursed angrily. Li Huai is truly hopeless. At this point, the arrow is already on the bowstring and must be released!
"Look at these mirrors, something's wrong with them!"
Luo Tianhe suddenly shouted, his voice filled with barely suppressed terror.
We looked around at the mirrors and found that the images reflected in them were completely different from reality. It was as if we had become different people in the mirrors!
The person in the mirror is grinning at the person outside the mirror.
And "my" mouth stretched all the way to my ears, my smile filled with undisguised malice.
In the mirror, Luo Tianhe slowly picked up a sharp shard of mirror, as if to stab Zhang Qiang beside him.
The Li Huai in the mirror was just as pathetic as the one outside the mirror, crouching on the ground with his head in his hands, screaming silently.
"I told you not to look in the mirror!"
I realized that before I looked in the mirror, it clearly had no effect on us!
After I looked in the mirror, a strong sense of dizziness and disorientation suddenly overwhelmed me.
I bit my tongue hard, and a sweet, metallic taste and a stinging sensation instantly invigorated me!
Then I sprayed the blood onto the yellow talisman on my right hand and quickly drew an exorcism talisman!
"Follow me, charge onto the stage, and destroy that puppet!"
The talisman in my hand emitted a faint glow.
As long as I stick it to that doll, no matter what kind of conspiracy or tricks the person behind it has, it will shatter instantly.
"No, don't touch that doll!"
An aged voice suddenly came from the depths of the cave, carrying a plea.
But I didn't care and rushed onto the platform, the yellow talisman in my hand about to strike the puppet's chest.
"Stop, or your three friends will all die with this doll!"
The aged voice suddenly turned chilling, revealing a resolute determination!
I instinctively turned to look at Li Huai, Luo Tianhe, and Zhang Qiang, and found that they were all staring blankly at the mirror.
And like a walking corpse, he walked toward the mirror.
What did you do to them?
I stopped what I was doing and gritted my teeth.
"You don't need to know that much, just know that I can make them die a violent death!"
The aged voice seemed to breathe a sigh of relief when I stopped moving.
I gripped the yellow talisman tightly with my fingers, veins bulging, my heart filled with turmoil.
Although Li Huai, Luo Tianhe, and the other two had already turned their gazes away after hearing what I said, they still managed to do so.
However, unlike me, they were not decisive enough to bite off their tongues directly, and ultimately they were controlled by the monster in the mirror.
"Put down the yellow talisman in your hand, then take your friend and leave this place. Let's keep to ourselves!"
Want to exchange hostages?
I didn't say a word, and just pondered silently.
That aged voice must be the mastermind behind everything.
However, he was somewhat different from the person I had imagined who achieved his goals through cruel and evil magic.
However, I was right about one thing: his skills weren't very high, and I should be able to deal with him easily.
However, since the lives of Luo Tianhe and Li Huai are still in his hands, I cannot act rashly for the time being.
For a moment I regretted it; I should have acted alone, bringing them along was just a burden.
However, this guy can probably also influence the outside world. Even if he doesn't bring them in, things probably won't be much better.
He remained silent for a long time after seeing me, and his aged voice seemed somewhat anxious.
“I had absolutely no reason to kill your friend. I’ve gathered everything I needed, and I will soon pay the price for what I’ve done. I will cease to exist in this world. Isn’t that enough?”
Instinctively, I felt he was telling the truth, but I just scoffed.
"How do I know if you're lying to me? And what if I let this doll go, and then you turn around and kill my friend? A cruel executioner like you, how can you be trustworthy?"
Upon hearing this, the aged voice fell silent. He realized that he indeed had no reason to trust me.
"In short, if you want your friend to live, listen to me! At the very least, I do have the ability to kill your friend!"
"Heh, then let's fight to the death. Since my friends dared to come here, they must be prepared to die. Trading their three lives for you, this murderous demon, is already a great deal."
I'm certain he wouldn't dare to fight to the death!
"No way! Then tell me, what will it take for you to leave here!"
really!
A smile crept onto my lips.
Destroying this doll would likely have a huge impact on him, and he certainly didn't think he could afford the consequences.
"At least let's talk face to face. I don't want to negotiate with some cowardly guy."
As soon as I finished speaking, I heard a very faint sound coming from deep inside the cave, like the creaking of an old door hinge.
"Okay, then come over here."
He agreed readily, giving me a chance to speak with him face to face.
"Heh, why should I come to you? Why don't you come and face me? Oh, is it because I can't pose a threat to the doll if I leave here?"
I sneered. This guy may be pretending to be weak, but he's very shrewd. He's got ten hidden agendas in every word he says!
