Chapter 1266 The Truth No One Wants to Know

"He changed the layout of those rooms and showed them to me."

My voice was a little urgent, and my heart was beating faster than usual.

Damn it, I've caught you red-handed.

He definitely has a problem, otherwise why would he be changing the room layout if he had nothing better to do?

If there's a problem with the feng shui, why not move out?

Luo Tianhe and Li Huai were overjoyed, finally seeing a glimmer of hope to break through their predicament. Immediately, they walked with much lighter steps.

Soon, we inspected each of the rooms whose layout had been altered, one by one.

We searched very carefully, checking the walls, floors, and even the ceiling—leaving no place where a body might have been hidden.

There's only one room left.

My forehead gradually became covered in cold sweat, and I realized something was wrong.

Wang Sheng was clearly just an ordinary construction worker before, but now he has been able to climb up to the position of boss step by step. Even if he relies on evil magic, he must be extraordinary and his cunning is probably very deep.

How could they possibly leave us with such an obvious flaw?

After all, to a sensitive person, this is no different from pointing a finger at their nose and saying "there's a ghost here!"

Luo Tianhe noticed my nervousness and patted me on the shoulder.

"Don't overthink it, it might be in this room."

I walked toward the wall the woman pointed to. Using my clairvoyance wouldn't work, since I had already looked at it once when I first arrived.

Under the watchful eyes of several people, I pointed my right hand together like a sword, then took out a yellow talisman and smoothly wrapped it around my sword-like fingers. At the same time, I silently recited an incantation, and a faint light flowed from my fingertips.

The next moment, I suddenly stabbed myself against the wall.

With a muffled thud, the wall, like soft mud, was easily pierced by my two fingers.

Without hesitation, I flipped my wrist, picked up a small pebble, and put it in my mouth to chew.

Luo Tianhe and the others were already used to it. They all looked at me expectantly, hoping for a different outcome than the previous times.

Unfortunately, they were disappointed.

I spat out the pebbles from my mouth, shook my head at them, and cursed inwardly:

Damn it, it's just ordinary pebbles!

Anyone who has ever built a wall with a corpse knows that the corpse of someone who died a violent death is like a huge source of pollution inside the wall. Its malevolent and resentful aura will permeate the surrounding building materials day and night, and even ordinary stones will be tainted with malevolent energy.

That kind of stuff, to someone as knowledgeable as me, tastes like the dead.

Luo Tianhe stomped his foot, making a dull thud. His face was full of ferocity as he said fiercely, "Damn it, why don't we just kill him with one blow?"

Li Huai was startled by Luo Tianhe's words. He knew what Luo Tianhe did; he usually didn't care about burying a few petty thugs.

But this is different.

He grabbed Luo Tianhe's arm:

“Brother Luo, it’s not worth going to jail for someone like him. He may be a scoundrel, but he’s also a big boss with complicated social connections and extremely bad influence. The police will definitely do their best to investigate! At that time, they won’t care whether we’re acting on behalf of God or not.”

The woman's face was ashen. She knew we were capable, but that bastard Wang Sheng's plan was too well laid out, and we couldn't find any flaws in his strategy for the time being.

Silence fell in the room.

After a long while, the woman seemed to suddenly remember something, and forcing herself to stay alert, she asked cautiously in a heavily nasal voice:

"Master, you haven't eaten since this morning, have you? Why don't you eat something first?"

I opened my mouth, feeling too ashamed to eat, but then I thought, I need to eat to have the energy to keep searching.

Besides, my stomach was indeed empty at that moment, and it was churning with acid.

He simply nodded.

The woman went to the kitchen to busy herself, while Li Huai, Luo Tianhe, and I returned to the living room to discuss where this guy could possibly hide the body.

Although it was a child, with such a thorough search, it's impossible for us not to find even an infant.

"This is absolutely bizarre."

Li Huai muttered something, looking dejected.

Luo Tianhe was also huddled on the sofa, like a deflated balloon.

"You can't just turn such a big, living person into nothing, can you?"

I was completely at a loss for what to do and just stared blankly at the ceiling.

Soon, the woman brought over a bowl of steaming hot porridge. I took it, thanked her, blew on it, and took a sip from the rim of the bowl.

The next moment, I suddenly vomited up the porridge.

"What's wrong? Did you burn yourself?"

Luo Tianhe asked subconsciously.

I ignored him, feeling an urge to cry. It was like finding a needle in a haystack.

"Where did you get this porridge?" I couldn't hide my joy; the porridge had a smell of the dead that I longed for.

The woman was startled by my sudden outburst of excitement and said blankly:

"Kitchen, I just cooked it."

I rushed to the kitchen. Of course, the woman wouldn't lie to me; there was a pot of steaming porridge on the stove.

I squinted and scanned the kitchen, but as expected, my all-seeing eye still couldn't see anything.

Finally, I turned my attention to the stove.

We checked this stove before; it's not solid underneath, so it can't hide a body at all.

A sudden realization dawned on me, and I finally understood most of the key points. Looking at the woman who had followed me, I was momentarily at a loss for words.

After all, the truth is far too cruel.

The woman understood what I meant, and tears welled up in her eyes.

"Master, please tell me, I can bear it."

I hesitated for a moment, then pointed to the stove and said:

"Your eldest son's flesh was probably cut out, his bones were smashed into powder, mixed with cement, and then used to build up the stove. Your husband's previous changes to the room layout were just a pretext. His real purpose was to dismantle the stove and rebuild an identical one."

Upon hearing this, the woman's pupils suddenly shrank to the size of pinpoints, the color drained from her face instantly, and her body went limp, collapsing to the ground.

I found it difficult to speak; it was too cruel for a mother, but I continued:

"The flesh that was cut off should have been cooked by your husband and fed to the dog on the balcony..."

That's when I understood why the dog seemed so intelligent; it didn't bark when I went to the balcony.

When the woman first saw the dog, it was extremely fierce, barking incessantly at her until it was beaten until its skin was torn and bleeding before it finally behaved.

My grandfather once told me that dogs that have eaten human flesh will stop barking and become accustomed to silence.

Moreover, they become more intelligent and develop a craving for human flesh.

Upon hearing this, the woman fainted.

Even Luo Tianhe and Li Huai, who were standing to the side, turned pale upon hearing this.
