Chapter 206 Almost Died in the Mouth of a Snake

"Run!"

I screamed at the top of my lungs, grabbed Luo Tianhe, and ran wildly toward one side of the stone chamber.

Countless black snakes, like a surging black waterfall, poured wildly from the corner of the giant eye above our heads, carrying a nauseating stench, and cascaded down upon us.

At that moment, I finally understood why the giant black rat had run away.

It wasn't afraid of us at all, but rather of these snakes.

They attacked us before because they wanted to prevent us from touching the mural.

Luo Tianhe was so frightened by the sudden and terrifying scene that he stood frozen in place and I practically dragged him along.

We stumbled and ran through the stone chamber, pursued by a swarm of snakes like a black tide. Wherever they went, the ground was instantly covered by their bodies, creating undulating black waves.

In my panic, I caught a glimpse of a narrow crevice at the end of the stone chamber.

The gap was only wide enough for one person, but in this desperate situation, it became our only hope.

"Brother Luo, there's a gap over there, let's run that way!"

I shouted at the top of my lungs and quickened my pace as I rushed forward.

Just as we were about to reach the crevice, a thick snake shot out of the air like an arrow, its target Luo Tianhe.

Before I could think, I shoved Luo Tianhe away, and the snake bit my left arm hard.

A sharp pain suddenly struck, and I felt as if a million steel needles were piercing my muscles at the same time.

I couldn't help but let out a scream as blood gushed from my arm, flowing down to the ground.

"Old Chen!" Luo Tianhe wanted to turn back to save me.

"Don't worry about me, run!"

I endured the excruciating pain and gritted my teeth as I shouted at him.

He arrived now only to find himself surrounded by snakes; any chance of escape was a chance.

The swarm of snakes was getting closer and closer to us; their dense numbers made my scalp tingle.

Luo Tianhe gave me a deep look, but at this critical moment of life and death, he could only grit his teeth and continue running towards the crevice.

I desperately covered the bleeding wound on my left arm with my right hand.

With each step forward, it felt like dragging a mountain, the ground beneath my feet stained red with my blood, leaving a long trail of blood.

The large swarm of black snakes behind me was like a madman, hissing and snarling in a chaotic mess, a veritable death knell, relentlessly lunging at me.

My left arm was throbbing with pain, but I couldn't care less. My eyes darted around and I spotted a sharp rock on the ground.

Without thinking, I bent down and picked it up, clutching it tightly in my hand.

In the blink of an eye, a snake, like a black lightning bolt, pounced on me with a "whoosh".

I roared at the top of my lungs and, with all my might, smashed the stone down hard on the snake's head.

With a "bang," the stone hit the snake squarely, and it immediately collapsed limply to the ground.

But this was no use at all; more snakes rushed forward like a pack of starving wolves.

As the fight continued, I gradually realized that these snakes completely ignored Luo Tianhe and were focused solely on biting me.

I dodged to the left, but they chased and bit me.

I dodged to the right, but they still wouldn't let me go.

Before long, I had several more wounds on my body, and my clothes were soaked with blood.

My head was spinning in waves, everything in front of me was swaying, and my legs felt so weak that I felt like I could fall over at any moment.

Just when I was about to give up, suddenly, a green light flashed across my chest.

I instinctively looked down and saw the snake pill.

This snake pill was given to me by that man from the Bureau of Strange News Investigation. I've always kept it on me, but I never expected it to glow now.

What's even stranger is that the snakes, which had been acting like madmen, actually started to slowly back away when they saw the green light.

However, they didn't leave. They formed a circle, trapping me in the middle. Their cold, icy snake eyes, like hungry wolves eyeing meat, stared intently at the snake core on my chest.

At that moment, I realized that the snakes were attacking me relentlessly in order to steal my snake core.

Although the snakes dared not make any rash moves, every now and then one or two bolder snakes would cautiously pounce towards me.

I mustered my strength, staring intently at the restless snake. Just as it lunged, I reached out my right hand and, with lightning speed, grabbed its vital spot.

I caught the snake, its slender body writhing wildly. The icy touch made me nauseous, but I gritted my teeth, channeling all my anger and will to survive into my arm, and with a sudden burst of strength, slammed it hard into the ground.

One, two, three... Each strike was accompanied by a muffled "thump, thump".

The black snake's body became a bloody mess under my heavy blows, and it twitched continuously.

Before I could even catch my breath, I suddenly felt a tightness in my right ankle, and a piercing pain instantly struck.

I looked down and saw that another snake had somehow gotten behind me and was biting my ankle tightly. Its long body was wrapped tightly around my leg, tightening its grip.

Fuck you!

I roared, ignoring the excruciating pain in my ankle, and grabbed the snake that had bitten me with both hands, pulling it off my leg with a mighty tug.

After I pulled the snake off, it was still struggling desperately, its gaping maw revealing sharp fangs, trying to attack me again.

I was completely blinded by rage, and I no longer cared about any techniques.

Looking at the snake in his hand that was still struggling desperately, he lowered his head and opened his mouth to bite the snake's head.

The teeth sank deep into the flesh of the snake's head, and a fishy, salty taste instantly filled the mouth.

With a forceful tug, I bit off the snake's head.

The snake's body was still writhing in my hand, and blood spurted from the severed wound, splattering all over my face.

At that moment, I was covered in blood, and I couldn't tell which blood was mine and which was from the snake.

But the snakes around me didn't disperse; they swam slowly around me, hissing.

The cold, flickering forked tongue seemed to be searching for its next opportunity to strike.

I was panting heavily, my chest heaving violently, dragging my battered body.

At this point, I was at my last gasp.

Just when I was isolated and helpless, locked in a stalemate with the snakes, and about to run out of strength, I saw Luo Tianhe squeeze in through the gap.

He produced a burning torch from somewhere, and the leaping flames shone brightly in the dark stone chamber filled with snakes.

"Old Chen, hold on! I'm coming to save you!" Luo Tianhe waved his torch and rushed towards the swarm of snakes.
