Chapter 207 Poisoned

The snakes seemed very afraid of the flames and retreated.

But some still lingered around, unwilling to give up.

"Brother Luo, why are you back? It was too dangerous!" I was both surprised and delighted, and at the same time, I kicked away a snake that was trying to attack me while I was distracted.

"What are you saying? How could I possibly abandon you!"

As Luo Tianhe responded, he moved closer to me: "Quick, follow me to the crevice! Use torches to clear the way!"

He handed me the torch.

I took the torch and waved it forcefully. The blazing flames instantly drove back the surrounding snakes, which wriggled and hissed in resentment.

We supported each other and moved step by step toward the crack.

With every step they took, they faced a frenzied counterattack from the swarm of snakes.

"Old Chen, how are you? Are you badly injured?" Luo Tianhe asked anxiously.

"You're not dead yet, let's go!"

I gritted my teeth, and the wound on my arm bled again as I strained.

Suddenly, a thick snake darted out from the side, its target Luo Tianhe.

"careful!"

I shouted and swung the torch in my hand fiercely at the snake.

The snake's body was set ablaze, emitting a pungent, acrid smell, and it writhed in agony.

With the help of torches, we finally reached the crevice.

Luo Tianhe squeezed in first, then stretched out his hand and called out anxiously, "Old Chen, give me your hand!"

I endured the excruciating pain and offered him my right hand.

Luo Tianhe gripped my hand tightly and used all his strength to pull me into the gap.

By this time, the snakes had caught up to our feet, their cold bodies coiling around my ankles, and I could feel their sharp teeth ready to bite down again at any moment.

"Push harder!"

Luo Tianhe's face flushed red, veins bulging on his forehead, as he pulled me with all his might.

With his efforts, I finally managed to squeeze into the gap.

As soon as I squeezed into the crevice, before I could even catch my breath, I saw countless snakes desperately trying to squeeze into the crevice, their long, thin forked tongues and sharp teeth flashing before my eyes.

Luo Tianhe reacted quickly. He turned to look at the passage and found several huge stones that had fallen off the wall not far away.

"Old Chen, quick, help me move these stones!"

Luo Tianhe shouted as he rushed over and hugged a rock.

I endured the pain in my body and staggered to catch up with him. Together we lifted a heavy stone, moved it to the crevice, aligned it, and pushed it with all our might.

The stone firmly blocked the lower half of the crack.

But there are still some gaps, and snakes can still squeeze in.

I was extremely anxious and looked around, where I noticed some broken stone pillars nearby.

Without saying a word, Luo Tianhe and I got to work again, moving the stone pillars one by one and placing them horizontally above the stone to block the gaps.

The snakes writhed wildly, crashing into the obstacles we had built, hissing angrily.

Several even managed to squeeze their heads inside, only to be firmly stuck by the stone pillars and unable to move.

Luo Tianhe and I found some small stones and gravel to fill all the gaps in the cracks, and then stomped on them to make sure there were no gaps at all.

Finally, the snakes outside were completely isolated, and could only struggle frantically outside, but could no longer harm us.

However, we can't get out through this gap either.

We were so exhausted that we collapsed on the ground, panting heavily.

Luo Tianhe didn't even have time to rest before coming up to check my wounds.

I could see that blood was still seeping out from where I was bitten, and the surrounding skin had begun to turn black.

In particular, there are two deep teeth marks on his left arm that extend to the back of his hand.

"This snake is poisonous!" Luo Tianhe gasped.

I forced myself to sit up, weak as I was: "Don't panic, first check if there's anything around that can stop the bleeding or detoxify."

I looked around and found that it was a narrow passage with many torches stuck in the walls. It seemed that Luo Tianhe had taken his torch from here.

Scattered on the ground of the passage were some oddly shaped stones and withered plants, their usefulness unknown.

Luo Tianhe clapped his hands, stood up, and looked around for anything that might be useful.

As he searched, he kept blaming himself: "It's all my fault. If it weren't for me, you wouldn't have been bitten by the snake."

I opened my mouth, intending to say a few words of comfort, but as soon as I opened my mouth, my throat felt like it had been rubbed with sandpaper, extremely dry, and I could only make a few weak hissing sounds.

The snake venom, like a surging undercurrent, had already seeped into my blood vessels through the wound and was rampant throughout my body.

My head began to feel heavy, as if it were filled with lead, and I felt dizzy in waves. The scene before my eyes became blurry, and Luo Tianhe's figure was sometimes clear and sometimes doubled in my eyes.

I tried to raise my hand to pat his shoulder and tell him not to take all the responsibility upon himself, but my arm felt as heavy as a thousand pounds and I couldn't lift it no matter what I did.

My legs felt weak and I couldn't muster any strength, and my body involuntarily tilted to one side.

"Old Chen, what's wrong?"

Luo Tianhe noticed my unusual behavior, his voice instantly rose, and he supported my swaying body with both hands.

"I... I'm fine, don't panic..." I managed to squeeze out a few words, but even I didn't believe them.

Every breath felt like it was tearing at the wounds all over my body, and the excruciating pain made me tremble uncontrollably.

Just then, Luo Tianhe suddenly shouted, "Old Chen, look what this is!"
