"Bang bang bang!"

Each impact shook the door frame violently, as if the door would be knocked off at any moment.

A gruff voice roared from outside.

"Listen up, you inside! Open the door now! Don't put up any futile resistance, or we'll break it down!"

"How dare they steal things here!"

Seeing the door frame teetering on the verge of collapse, I steeled myself and turned to look at Master Jin.

"Mr. Jin, give me the flashlight."

Jin's eyes widened like saucers: "Could it be that you want to..."

I snatched the flashlight from his hand and shouted towards the door, "We're coming out now, get out of the way!"

The banging on the door outside immediately subsided.

Then, the same voice rang out again.

"Behave yourself! Don't try anything funny. We've already called the police. Don't do anything stupid. Just surrender!"

I winked at Boss Jin, signaling him to open the door.

Just in case, I hid behind the door.

Jin swallowed hard and slowly opened the door, his hands trembling.

The instant the door opened, I threw the switched-on flashlight into the distance as fast as I could, then quickly slammed the door shut.

The beam of the flashlight streaked across the darkness like a bolt of lightning.

In that brief moment of light, I could clearly see several men in black suits standing outside the door.

They weren't security guards at the villa; they seemed more like the private bodyguards of the former richest man.

Just as the flashlight beam illuminated their faces.

With a "whoosh," a dark figure pounced on one of the bodyguards like a ghost.

The speed was so fast that no one had time to react.

The dark figure opened its blood-red maw and bit into the bodyguard's neck, causing blood to gush out like a fountain.

With the help of the flashlight's dim light, I finally saw the thing that had been following me.
