Chapter 475 All Fall into the Trap

Takeshita Shinya dared not be negligent towards the two men in front of him. These were no ordinary people. This man, Otani Hitoshi, was a prominent figure in the Japanese aristocracy and an important person who had just arrived in Shanghai.

The surname Ōtani holds an extremely important position in the Japanese aristocratic class. It is the secular surname of the head priest of Honganji Temple and a member of Japan's top aristocracy. Ōtani Ninki is a direct descendant of the Ōtani family.

His arrival drew great attention from all sectors of Japanese society in Shanghai. However, Hitoshi Otani declined invitations from various departments of the military and government, and tried to keep a low profile regarding his trip to Shanghai.

This was his first time in Shanghai, and he was very curious about this long-renowned metropolis. So he wanted to see more of Shanghai, but he didn't want to make a big fuss, so he brought a bodyguard with him.

But how can such a security force reassure others? You know, if such an important person were to have a security problem, it would be a huge uproar.

Therefore, in order to befriend this important figure, Special Higher Police Chief Taro Sagawa specially arranged a security force to protect Hitoshi Otani, of course, in secret. When he learned that Hitoshi Otani wanted to find a guide who was fluent in Chinese, Akita Akihito promptly recommended his student Shinya Takeshita. He naturally hoped that Shinya Takeshita could win Hitoshi Otani's favor and have a bright future. Taro Sagawa agreed to this arrangement.

So for the next two days, Takeshita Shin was responsible for accompanying Otani Hitoshi on a tour of Shanghai, with a Special Higher Police (TAT) action team following them not far behind.

Fortunately, although there had been assassination attempts in Shanghai before, all the targets were Japanese officers. As long as they weren't wearing Japanese military uniforms, they wouldn't be attacked by Chinese agents, so everyone was relatively reassured about Hitoshi Otani's safety.

However, their appearance quickly attracted the attention of the Special Higher Police intelligence team members who had been lying in wait for many days.

In a coffee shop on the street, two Japanese agents immediately recognized the leader as Takeshita Shinya from their intelligence team. They were quite surprised, as Takeshita Shinya had never participated in any specific operations.

This guy takes advantage of having a teacher backing him up, slacking off and freeloading, and everyone's used to it.

The same applies to this trapping operation. Akita Akihito was afraid that Takeshita Shinya would be in danger due to his lack of experience, so he didn't assign him any missions. But how did he end up here?

"What's going on? What's Takeshita doing here? And there are two other people with him?"

"Who knows, maybe Captain Akita sent him to keep an eye on us?"

"Forget it! How could that be? But I did hear that this guy went to accompany a big shot these past two days. Could it be one of the two people with him?"

After a while, when they spotted several team members following closely behind Hitoshi Otani, they were completely certain of the situation.

The older agent reacted quickly and said, "Quickly, notify Iwai to stop the trapping plan. If Chinese agents really show up now, we'll be in trouble. We absolutely cannot use guns at this time!"

At this moment, Yu Xingsheng and his group, who were ready to take action, slowly approached the entrance of the department store. Their appearance quickly attracted the attention of Iwai Nosuke.

"Watch out for these people, they're very suspicious!" Iwai Nosuke immediately ordered.

The other agents were also invigorated. They rushed to the window to observe and quickly confirmed the abnormality of Yu Xingsheng and the others.

"Great! Iwai-kun, these guys' positioning is suspicious, it's a standard attack position, they must be up to something, let's make our move!" an agent beside him urged urgently.

Another agent chimed in, "Yes, we can't wait any longer. Once Morita and the others are outside the gate, these people will definitely launch an attack. We need to act quickly!"

"No, wait a little longer!" But Iwai Nosuke said coldly. He pulled out a pistol from his waist, his face calm. After setting up the trap for so long, prey had finally appeared. Iwai Nosuke had enough patience. "We've only found three people so far. What if they have accomplices to help them? Don't rush. Let them make their move. Once they make their move, we'll know exactly how many people are involved. I want to wipe them all out!"

The other agents inside immediately changed their expressions. One of them said with dissatisfaction, "But Morita and Mitani are in danger!"

But Iwai nosuke was only thinking about making a name for himself and getting promoted, so he didn't care about anything else. He shouted sternly, "Stop talking! As soldiers, it is a great honor to be loyal to His Majesty the Emperor. Get into your positions now and wait for the gunshot before you start!"

Everyone was furious. To be loyal to His Majesty the Emperor? This is clearly to be loyal to you, Iwai Nosuke!

Iwai nosuke is indeed a sharp-minded and decisive outstanding agent, but everyone finds his cold-blooded and ruthless behavior of treating his comrades and colleagues as mere pawns to be discarded at will extremely despicable.

Today he could abandon Morita and Mitani, but tomorrow he might be the one to do it. However, the Special Higher Police were strictly disciplined, and Iwai Nosuke held the highest position and was the commander of the operation. So they could only exchange glances, leave the room resentfully, and begin preparing to take action.

Iwai nosuke watched them leave, observing their expressions and emotions, but he paid them no heed. He knew these people were different from him; he was talented, intelligent, and resourceful, and would eventually rise to prominence. These mediocre individuals, on the other hand, were merely stepping stones for him. He didn't need to care about their thoughts; they were just pawns he could discard at any time.
